The 2023 Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party in Enugu State, Chijioke Jonathan Edeoga has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The former Commissioner for Environment who resigned from the PDP in 2022, hails from Eha-Amufu in Isi-Uzo LGA.

He was also a member of the House of Representatves in 1999 and a former Special Adviser to ex-Presdient Goodluck Jonathan. He finished close second to incumbent, Ndubuisi Peter Mbah in the 2023 Governorship race.

Turai Yar'adua reigned supreme in her days as first lady second to Maryam Babangida. Turai Yar'adua was Nigeria de facto leader when Yar'adua became very sick and all the period he was outside the country for medical treatment she ruled backed by the then attorney general of the federation Michael Aondoakaa who on one occasion made the infamous statement that the president can rule from anywhere in the world. But today nobody remembers Turai Yar'adua.

A former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili on Tuesday had a serious verbal clash with Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi.
