BusinessRe: Nigergrob Ceramics Ogun:What I Found In An Abandoned Factory Established In 1974 by Barteze: 4:19pm On Jul 09
Raydos:
Driven by my usual adventurous streak, I headed out today to explore an old, abandoned ceramic factory near my place. I first learned about it from a local elderly woman, who told me it opened back in 1974 (exactly 52 years ago) and that her husband used to work there in the 80's

She shared a bunch of stories about how lively the place used to be, bustling with all kinds of people earning a living before it finally shut its doors around 2007.

Listening to her gave me this irresistible urge to sneak inside. I just had to explore it and get a firsthand sense of what it felt like when the machines were running, how the employees worked, and what their daily lives were like.
I bet it primarily shutdown due to importation of cheaper products from China into Nigeria market among other reasons.

It is appalling that Ononuga could only react to the allegation of ill treatment by PO he should have as well tell Nigerians how their finances are being managed and that Tinubu's savings will surpass that of PO when leaving office in 2027 both in USD and in Naira without leaving any debt behind or owing workers salaries and pensioners just like PO did.

givedemwotowoto:
According to the X user, he lived in Lagos during Tinubu's time as governor between 1999 and 2007, and also during Fashola's time as governor.

In the video, he compares a rowdy and unkempt Oshodi under Tinubu, to an organized Oshodi just 1 year after Fashola took over as Governor.

The proponents of Tinubu build lagos know that he didn't do any physical development but their arguments are that he appointed the likes of Fashola and co who subsequently built lagos. In other words they are ascribing the glory due to other governors to him.

zoedew:
This argument denies the reality of what it takes to win the Presidential election in Nigeria. Without securing the votes up north Peter Obi will not win. His wily ways are enough to put off Northern voters.
You are myopic or ignorant if your assertion is true then Buhari won't have been a serial contestant because from 2003 to 2011 he won the entire north each time he contested but contrary to your "reality" the northern votes couldn't win him the presidency.
PoliticsRe: Peter Obi Never Condemns Biafra Or IPOB - Ali Modu Sheriff by Barteze: 9:28am On Jul 07
Vixlot:
Peter Obi, up to this moment, is pursuing the division of Nigeria because he believes in Biafra. He never condemns Biafra or IPOB, as he wants to divide Nigeria. He should come out and say if he doesn’t believe in the division of the country.

- Ali Modu Shariff, former Governor of Borno

I don't blame this man it's the Nigeria system that I blame if not Ali Modu Sheriff who practically brought Boko Haram to Nigeria has no reason whatsoever to be outside the prison walls if not 6 ft. down already.
I wouldn't be surprise if he vies for presidential election in 2031.
SportsRe: Can Nigeria Bid To Host The Next AFCON? by Barteze: 10:58pm On Jul 06
robosky02:
Nigeria can host the Africa Cup of Nations, but it would require massive financial investment and facility upgrades. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) recently invited bids for the 2028, 2032, and 2036 tournaments. However, Nigeria must compete with countries like Morocco and South Africa

Current Standing and Challenges:

While Nigeria has successfully co-hosted the tournament previously (1980 and 2000), the country's recent track record for sports infrastructure has been a hurdle.

Recent Bids: Nigeria previously submitted a joint bid with the Benin Republic to host the 2027 AFCON. However, CAF ultimately awarded the 2027 hosting rights to Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, while Morocco is scheduled to stage the 2025

Strict Requirements:
CAF requires host nations to present top-tier stadiums, advanced training facilities, accessible international airports, and modern hospitality infrastructure. The bidding process is now strictly vetted by independent experts like PwC to ensure operational viability.

Doable Action Plan

To successfully host a future AFCON (like 2028 or beyond), Nigeria would need to heavily upgrade facilities across the country. Key stadiums that would need significant overhauls or modernization to meet CAF’s 24-team tournament standards include:

1. Godswill Akpabio Stadium (Uyo)MKO
2.Abiola National Stadium (Abuja)Adokiye
3.Amiesimaka Stadium (Port Harcourt)
4.Yakubu Gowon stadium (Port Harcourt)
5.Teslim Balogun Stadium (Lagos)
6. Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium (Enugu):
7. Sani Abacha Stadium (Kano
8. Amadu Bello stadium (Kaduna)

https://www.google.com/search?q=can+Nigeria+host+the+afcon&oq=can+Nigeria+host+the+afcon+&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyCggAEEUYFhgeGDkyCAgBEAAYFhgeMg0IAh
Hosting a football tournament is not just about good stadia security is also a huge consideration and as it stands Nigeria is not safe so they shouldn't even try using AFCON bidding to siphon funds abeg.

Jman06:
I noticed that there have been lots of open doors for me since my fiancee and soon-to-be wife came into my life. Things have just been happening magically. The jobs I had been expecting since clicked without stress. Now I'm transitioning from the private sector to a good job in a public institution. This something I had waited for since going to 3years.

Also, there has been influx of funds from debtors to those making donations and so on. My wedding is around the corner and I was hitherto worried about funds to cover all the things I needed to do for the event but honestly, things have just been taking shape in a way that seems magical.

I am beginning to agree with the saying that he who finds a woman findeth a good thing and obtaineth favour from God. Please, let the blessings continue to flow even after the marriage...Amen
The Blessings shall be permanent in your life IJN. But always remember to treat her well don't be stingy towards her.

CelebritiesRe: From ₦691 Million To Under ₦20 Million? VDM NGO Account Raises Questions by Barteze: 3:34pm On Jun 25
dododawa1:
A screenshot allegedly showing the balance of VeryDarkMan’s NGO account has sparked widespread discussion online.

The image indicated that over ₦691 million had been credited to the account, with more than ₦671 million reportedly spent and less than ₦20 million remaining.

The development has reignited public interest in the activist’s NGO, particularly following Don Jazzy’s widely publicized ₦100 million donation in 2024.

Fresh discussions have emerged online after a screenshot allegedly showing the balance of the NGO account belonging to social media activist VeryDarkMan surfaced on Facebook.

The screenshot, shared by Facebook user Ekwutosi Oke C AdaNsukka, indicated that the account had received a total of ₦691,609,964.78, with ₦671,770,394.14 reportedly spent and a remaining balance of ₦19,939,570.64.

The figures quickly attracted attention on social media, with many users expressing surprise at the amount spent and raising questions about the account’s activities.

The renewed interest in the NGO account comes months after renowned music executive Don Jazzy donated ₦100 million to support VeryDarkMan’s initiative.

At the time, VeryDarkMan initially expressed concern about the large transaction and publicly called on Zenith Bank to investigate the payment, fearing it could be linked to money laundering or an attempt to set him up.

However, he later revealed a message from Don Jazzy confirming that the donation was genuine and intended to support the NGO’s activities.

The message reportedly read:

“Morning bro. Just saw your post. Na me send 100m to support. I believe in what you are doing.”

Beyond his NGO activities, VeryDarkMan has remained active in advocacy campaigns across the country. Recently, he led a protest in Ibadan, Oyo State, demanding stronger government action following the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Orire Local Government Area.

Kid Scout Refuses To Bow To Allah During Mosque Visit, Goes Viral

A video making the rounds on social media showed a small boy of about 6-8 years, defying the order to bow for muslim prayers as his fellow scouts during their trip to a mosque.

He was seen standing alone with his hands in his pocket while the rest were following the lead of the imam and going to their knees and bowing down their heads.

He defiance seemed to incense a man standing right behind him in the mosque, who was seen making gestures with his hands towards the boy from behind.

Whatever it means, I have come to understand that one is a polite way of saying we started having sex. For example you hear someone say we were friends for ....... then we started dating.

Hello gurus in the house, I need help and guidance.
Recently I noticed that in the morning when I want to leave the house, the car will hesitate to move after I have put it in drive 'D'. After about 4 to 5 seconds, it will engage sometimes with a jerk and begin to move.
For the remaining part of the day it will not do it again untill the next day.
It happens every morning and whenever I have left the car for several (over 5 to 6) hours.

The write up made you sick and the write up is rubbish.......
Understand one thing nobody has a monopoly of insults!

I never insulted you in my write up. If you want to debunk an argument, you do it with facts not insults.
From your first write up,you boldly stated that you were brought to the polling station by your dad, which implies that you were a minor in 1993.
Secondly your reference to Mokwa in Niger state tells me all I need to know about you. Ibrahim Babangida who annuled the 1993 elections is also from Niger state. So psychologically I understand your jaundiced view point. Tribal loyalty is basically a primordial instinct in most Nigerians. I rest my case.
My final response to you.
Which case are you resting when you didn't have any at first. You are very ridiculous person where did I say my dad took me to the polling unit? And I am not a northerner. Living in Niger state didn't make me lose my identity or impacted my judgement of the election as I only narrated what I witnessed as a teenager then in the local government elections which was conducted first and the rigging got worse in the presidential election which came last. And I maintain my stand that the elite were United in the rigging including police officers.
So my friend you can only speak for your own location and the fact that the election was free in your location doesn't mean it was the same across the country.
PoliticsRe: Polling Officers Count Numbers Out Of Sequence In Abia APC Direct Primary by Barteze: 9:36pm On May 18
Goosethetruth:
Some of you just create false scenario's in your mind and begin spreading falsehood all over the Internet. It is obvious that you never witnessed that election or you were too young to understand what you claimed to witness.
By 1993 Nigerians were tired of military rule in any form or shape and just wanted the military out of governance. Ibrahim Babangida the head of the military junta never wanted to hand over the governance of Nigeria to anybody. He thought the Option A4 system of voting would fail and end in violence but to his eternal shame and disgrace Nigerians trooped out and queued up in orderly fashion behind the candidates of their choice in the NRC and SDP. Nigerians stood in the rain and sun to vote for the candidates of their choice. It was a free and fair election in my estimation because I cast my vote and it was counted correctly.
Young Nigerians need to know their history. Forget all the propaganda spread by the military government of those days. Babangida,Sanni Abacha,David Mark,Dogonyaro,Diya and other military top shots of that era never wanted to hand over government to any civilians. They just wanted to be playing military game of thrones with the governance of Nigeria. The military regarded the governance of Nigeria as a game of musical chairs in which one military man gets up and another one takes over the chair.
Even if Tofa of the NRC party had won the election the military wouldn't have handed over government to him. It was not an Abiola issue, the simple fact is that the military did not want to quit power at all.
Oga your write up makes me sick I couldn't even stand the rubbish you spewed out. However, you unknowingly confirmed my claims.
As you said Nigerians were tired of military rule and wanted them out ASAP this confirmed what I said that the stake holders were United in the rigging that happened no body opposed it they operated freely jumping numbers, young boys running backwards to be counted multiple times it all happened I witnessed it in person not hearsay or any history book. By the way note that history today was some else's current affairs and that 1993 elections was a current affairs to me so I don't need any historian to tell me what I witnessed at least in my own location Mokwa Niger state.
I often hear people say voters queued behind their preferred candidate but that's not exactly current, it was actually the in front of a large poster of their preferred candidate it is good to put it in proper perspective so that those born in the 90s and 2000 will understand well.
I must also mention that there was coercion to join the line with the larger crowd.
So do come and be telling us that that election was perfect it wasn't.
PoliticsRe: Polling Officers Count Numbers Out Of Sequence In Abia APC Direct Primary by Barteze: 10:18am On May 18
ElevationD:
Sorry, you must have had some counting imagination in your heart. The election of 1993 was the freest and fairest ever witnessed in this country. I participated. I was on the line. It was not just the electoral officials only counting. It was everyone counting together. SDP was counting the numbers on the NRC side and vice versa. We voted for MKO Abiola. His lifestyle was the key to his victory. Everyone believed in him. Everyone trusted him. It was very easy.

Option A4 remains the way, no matter the dirty paint the politicians try to make on it. Infact it helps to control vote buying. For those who receive bribes to vote, once it is time, they run away, as they do not want to be seen on the queue. Return to option A and see the difference. The open-secret ballot is full of wayo.
I only narrated my experience and you dispute my own personal experience as if you were in the same place with me at the time.
I still maintain that the election of 1993 was not free from election malpractices based on my own personal experience.
I was in Mokwa Niger state at time remember that Council elections came first and presidential election came last and I am telling you without equivocation that the elections were not different from other elections in Nigeria.

The direct primary election took a dramatic turn in Abia State.

In a video that has now gone viral, a polling officer was seen counting numbers irregularly - 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 100, 200, 400, 500, 600, 800, 801, 900, 1000,1250

Exactly what happened in 1993 general elections the supposedly freest election in Nigeria history. I always look at those TV analysts with bombastic eyes each time I hear them eulogies that election because as a little boy then that was the first election I witnessed and I can tell you for free that it was not without rigging the only difference to my little understanding then was that the stake holders were United in the act.
RomanceRe: Introduction Is Not Marriage: It Is Just A Declaration Of Intention by Barteze: 12:07pm On May 06
VYourstories:
My dad once made a statement that instantly changed my mindset towards relationships.

In his words: “Princess, introduction is not marriage. So stop acting so cozy with a guy who has done the bare minimum.”

Shockingly, his words hooked my heart the way a fish gets caught in a net , suddenly, completely, with no escape.

From that moment, this one statement made me develop a visceral hatred for a particular phrase: “Our wife.”

Any attempt for someone to call me “our wife,” I will instantly rebuke the person and respond, “I am not his wife yet.”

I usually receive that instant look of surprise, as though I have said something extreme.

But to me, it was my way of helping myself stay aware of reality without beautifying it.

In my opinion, the introduction ceremony in Nigerian culture is when the lady introduces the man she is interested in marrying to the family.
You owe your father at least one chilled bottle of beer.

Smh.

Many of you still do not get it how these things work. Do not be decieved by the nomenclature, if you do introduction, you are already married! Both of you are already entangled.

Introduction is even the most important as it officially commences the exchange of vow rites before God, your parents, families, man and the law. If that is not marriage, what then is it?

Don't get entangled at all till the introduction level. If you have strong doubts about the union, cut him or her off before introduction!
It is already too late after introduction because you are already married to the person.
Are you confusing introduction to traditional wedding? Introduction is not traditional wedding therefore the lady is still very much single. A lady is married when her bride price has been paid to her family in the presence of few representatives from both families. Doesn't matter wether there is elaborate ceremony or not.
