The December 7, 2015 coronation ceremony of
Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja
II, will have the Queen of England-Elizabeth
Alexandra, President Buhari and others in
attendance.
The Ooni of Ife promised to improve the lives of
his subjects, adding that his policies will make
every Yoruba person proud of his heritage.
Speaking through his elder brother, Prince
Adegboyega Ogunwusi, the Ooni said “Let me
acquaint you with what I have done in less than 70
days. I have given out over 20 electricity
transformers worth about N250m.
“I donated 50 transformers when I was a prince. I
will buy another 50 transformers within the next 30
days to further enhance electricity distribution. With
this, small scale businesses of welders, tailors and
others will naturally witness improvement.”
The representative of the Ooni told newsmen
that invitations have been sent to top dignitaries
all over the world, adding that the Queen of
England might be represented in the ceremony.
The Ooni also said “Providentially, I know the core
investor and the Chairman, Ibadan Electricity
Distribution Company, Mr. Tunde Ayeni, personally
and very well. I have engaged him and his team to
make this a reality and work has commenced in
earnest. We will witness this transformation by the
very special grace of God.”
“To revamp the stadium, I have already opened
discussion with the Osun State Government on
this. I will set up a football academy and we will
have 16 clubs in Ife.”
Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi is a Real estate tycoon,
and the 51st Ooni of Ife.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali (OON), has flagged off a new revolutionary telecommunication initiative that would provide cheaper and more efficient service to members of the University community. Tagged “Unilorin Closed User Group” (Unilorin CUG), the service, which is powered by Nigeria’s foremost indigenous telecommunications company, Globacom Nigeria Limited, will offer members of the University community an opportunity to make free 24-hour calls to subscribers on the company’s network with a modest monthly service subscription of N600.00 only. Flagging off the service in his office last Tuesday (November 17, 2015), the Vice-Chancellor, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs.) N.Y.S. Ijaiya, described the package, also known as “Unilorin Net”, as a “mouth-watering offer” from Globacom. She pointed out that “as an indigenous outfit, we cannot but patronise Glo”. She expressed happiness that a Nigerian company “is mounting such a gigantic competition against external providers”, pointing out that “your (Glo’s) success, therefore, is our success.” source:unilorin.edu.ng |

SAKA Ismaila Oreoluwa has emerged the best graduating student of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), with a 4.92 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). At the University’s 31st convocation, Oreoluwa was the toast of all, where the institution recorded 69 first class graduands. The event was graced by dignitaries such as the President of Ghana Dr. John Dramani Mahama; Kwara State Governor, Alhaji (Dr.) Abdulfatah Ahmed; the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, his Ilorin counterpart, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, among others. Oreoluwa said he achieved the coveted feat through hard work and consistency, adding that no one can rule out God’s wish. He noted that he didn’t follow any rigid study pattern during his stay at the institution. On his involvement in campus politics, he said he is a politician, who deployed his skills to serve others, adding “I am a bit of a politician; I was the immediate past Financial Secretary of the Association of Statistics Student, and treasurer of the Unilorin Quiz/debate club, among others.” He said, “I don’t really have a study pattern, though I read anytime of the day. All I need to do daily is to spend at least one hour on my academics. There are times I may not read for days due to busy schedules. I don’t compete with anybody except myself. I maintain a normal life and never go to the extreme. “I don’t read that much; I spend a minimum of one to three hours reading most times. I make sure I read whenever I needed to; I don’t read for reading sake. My one hour reading sometimes might equal someone else’s seven days reading,” he added. Noting that he wants to become a leading problem solver, business analyst and an auditor, he said he liked applying the knowledge of statistics on the outside world and making meaningful interpretation for business world. On the progression of his grades he said, “my CGPA started with 5.00 in 100 level, 4:97 in 200 level. It dropped to 4:90 after 300 level and I graduated with 4.92. One of the things the university taught me is how to relate well with people, because I used to be a shy person. On the average, I have more male friends than female and I treat all, equally.” source: www.ngrguardiannews.com/2015/11/oreoluwa-emerges-unilorins-best/
