budaatum: Green energy wouldn't be a thing in Nigeria for a long while. All the gas guzzlers in America and Europe will end up in Nigeria first since we don't even have the electricity for electric cars. Then there's Dangote's refinery, which will decrease our dollar outflow. Hopefully, it will generate power too, then we can rename him Mr Let There Be Light, and Petrol. I was talking in terms of export. However, it would be very cool if we can pull of production and refining of our own oil |

budaatum: Did you know OPEC was an American idea to control how much crude is pumped out the ground? Unfortunately, America could not join a cartel, so limited it to external production which they pretty much controlled.
Keystone, yes, plus NordStream 2, while we are at it, but expect tears in Nigeria and other oil producing countries, which will cause a world recession. I mean, if you're going to bring Nigeria into it, then expect real tears when the left starts to move away from oil towards 'green' energy. Still on Nigeria, expect tears when left instigates and destabilizes one of the biggest economies in your continent, thus leading to the militarization of radical Islamist groups in your region and a decade-long fight against terrorism.... oh wait |

Nastymods: Ya expand on the instruction and ye issues with ah it so intellectuals like ah raumdeuter and ah benidino is school ah ya To quote the bill: Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards I'm iffy on this part tbh. They want to outright ban 'classroom instruction' on sexual orientation for kids up to like 9 years of age. I'm cool with letting parents opt out if they aren't comfortable with it but parents who are cool with it should also be able to opt in. 9 years old isn't that young. A lot of shows aimed at 9 year olds have gay characters in them. I think it's only logical to allow teachers have the option of giving an honest response when the topic inevitably comes up |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by BasedUsername: 8:58pm On Mar 22, 2022 |
budaatum: Some want to empower the 6 year old to speak up against their sexual abusers, but of course in your mind, by "taught about sexuality" you mean, teaching them to have sex. But you can do that yourself, right? It should be the parent's decision to educate their children on sex and sexuality. I personally would, but I would also like to have the rights to opt out if I'm uncomfortable with how a teacher or school is going about it. Despite that, there are still some legitimate concerns about the bill. The word 'instruction' in the bill is poorly defined, there are legitimate concerns of government overreach in my opinion. |

budaatum: The longer put's in, the more sanctions will squeeze Russians and make them desperate for change.

Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by BasedUsername: 4:09pm On Mar 01, 2022 |
Ibime: China that has not lifted either it's people nor North Korea out of poverty will lift Russia out?
Sanctions are effective. If you are not on good terms with the West, you go starve. Russia needs to join the West. They are no longer communists, the only problem is they refuse to embrace democracy. These are all Europeans. At the end of the day, Oyinbo will always let Oyinbo into the club as long as they behave themselves.
Putin even said he asked Bill Clinton if Russia can join NATO in 2000. I believe when they get rid of their KGB people and embrace democracy, they will find their European brothers again as it was in the days of the Tsars. The West will be smart to not allow Russia fall into China's hands. If conflict arises with China in the future, there is nothing better than having Russia on your side who not only have military capability but are on the border with China. Germany has been trying to bring Russia into the European fold for a while but Putin and this Ukraine issue keep dragging them to their past. I see no reason for Russia not to join the EU if they can embrace democracy Who knows, maybe after Putin's death. |

The division America has been brewing since the Occupy Wall Street protests. Do you seriously believe that people are more racist now than 15 years ago? budaatum: But the end result of 'might is right' is always "about blowing up all your opponents". I mean, see us here. Immediately we identify an opponent we disengage brain and donkiefy and violently attack.
War is after all just the same violence on a larger scale, no? I generally just match the energy of the person I'm debating. I usually start off respectful but if the person acts an idiot, then it's chimpanzee time! I don't take myself too seriously and I'm not above doing a little trolling. However, I'm never the one to start beef. budaatum: Perhaps stop learning from memes and study some history. You might find parents paying for their children to be taught in Islam and Christian schools too, which were superior to what preceded them. Thanks Buda, very smug. Christianity was just a niche hipster religion until Emperor Constantine became a believer thereby causing it to spread further along with the Roman Empire. Same with Mohammed and later the Ottoman Empire with Islam. Compare what we know about Persian culture through history and modern-day Iran. What could have caused this change? Jihad. budaatum: Another thing you learned from a meme, based?
In UK where LGBT rights are recognised, unarmed police will investigate and arrest you and if a case can be made against you will be brought before a judge and jury who will determine if you are guilty and must be fined or jailed or not guilty and set free, and if you got that wrong, well..... Where's the lie here? Police coming to arrest you is an implicit threat of violence. What happens when you resist arrest? At the very least, you get strong-armed into that cop car. What happens when you don't show up in court? That's contempt and now they want to arrest you even harder. What happens when you don't pay the fine? They garnish your income. What happens when you just try to leave prison? Well, they drag you back in. |

budaatum: And that is why LGBTs has used brains instead of brawn to achieve equality wherever it has achieved it, unless you want to show me LGBT doing aluta.
I've always said the Biafra proclaimers will fail until they use their brains. Mere making the Biafra area the best and most secure and law abiding will invite investment but they unfortunately reason like you do and wouldn't surprise me if the resort to the might of bombings someday, unless things change of course. No offence but this is very one-track thinking. I'm not talking about blowing up all your opponents and my example never insinuated anything like that. Power and might may come in the form physical strength, military, intelligence, money, social dexterity, beauty, etc. However it still holds true that at the root of most of this lies the implicit threat of violence. The LGBT community will gain power by influencing how people think through different media and winning more people over to their side. That's how it has always worked. One caveat though, that is also how immoral ideas spread. How did Christianity and Islam spread so far and wide? I don't know if you're familiar with the meme, but the answer is: "through Jihad". Now back to my original point. In countries where LGBT rights are recognized do you know what happens when you beat someone up for being gay? Well, they send a bunch of armed men to deny you of some of your rights. Are those countries bullying homophobia? No, but they need to employ the power of the police to protect these people |

Livelystone01: As it stands, the best strategy is to try and deescalate issues as much as they can but I think it is past that already. The sanctions were factored in by Putin before he began this wilderness walk, he knew and would have predicted it, yet, he entered, which begs the question, why engage on such a wide scale of invasion knowing fully well that you'd be sanctioned massively?
The game just began, we will see China's move on Taiwan.
A multipolar world may look nice to others but deep down, the disadvantages far outweighs the advantages. If China takes Taiwan, we're pretty much screwed. China would corner the semiconductor market, making them the manufacturers of most of our electronics. With the growing prevalence and reliance on smart devices, IoT, and cloud services, digital security would be a nightmare. Even moreso than now. For that reason, I don't believe America will let Taiwan fall. Strategically speaking, they can afford to lose Ukraine but not Taiwan. |
