I already stated Nairaland is an echo chamber for sensitive and polarised topics. No middle grounds. People just pick sides and go at it regardless of the evidence negating their polished stances.

Twitter is better place for such conversations. But I understand many anti-Left are scared of being shadowbanned or doxx to ruin their lives as they user their personal details on their Twitter account.

Still, there are alternatives to having rounded conversations on these issues outside Nairaland.

When it comes to Indians and Asians, I don't have to tell you how much emphasis they put on academic success.

Now we're left with young men raised by single mothers who have no positive male role models in their lives and get caught up in gang activity. Compare that with black people who are about 13% of the population and make up 17% of the perpetrators of mass shootings.

Black people die on the streets everyday and nobody cares because the perps are also black, meaning there's no outrage or political to be milked from those tragedies. That's why Chicago has the homicide rate of a 3rd world country despite all the lip service from politicians.

Racism is still a problem but if East Asians, Indians, and Nigerians can go to America to become doctors and engineers then the African American community can learn from them and us respectively. The Amir Locke case is horrible but I also think the Timothy Timpa case was too. Timpa was white and Locke was black, one happened to get amplified by the media while the other remained obscure.
