itis very possible he used dumps to prepare for the exam.

it is also very possible he didnt.

the end of the story is that he took the exam and passed at a very young. and its something we should be very proud of. i work in the i.t training field and i know people within the age 18-35. even with the brain dumps they still fail these certification exams.

and nigerians should stop seeing thr negative in what other people and stop judging people. whether the kid used brain dumps or not. am proud of him.

he knows what over 500,000 corpers dont know.

and as for him wanting to study medicine and doimg mcp. mcp is relevant in whatever field you find yourself in.

asian and american kids achieve great feats and their countrymen dont say negative things abt it.

Certification here and there. Don't their parents think it's too early for that. Rather than to push kids to be certified, it is at this age they should be allowed to discover themselves and be creative. The boy that wants to become a medical doctor, how is MCP going to be useful in his career? Should the boy be encouraged? Yes. Should he be celebrated? No. Go to China, Russia and the U.S and see the kind of things the teenagers there are creating and coming up with. Some of them are involved in high level programming, hacking, beta testing etc. Afterall, it was a 15 year old that successfully hacked the pentagon some years ago. MCP is just a certificate that shows you can manage, configure and maintain a Windows OS. At age 13 I could do that already. I didn't just go ahead to write MCP. Nigerians and certificates sha.

before doing any certification. do you your research. ask yourself these questions

1. is it viable?
2. will it add/upgrade ur skills?
3. what do you intend to achieve doing that particular certification?
4. how valuable is it in the nigerian job market?
5. what are your goals and objectives career-wise?

there are jobs everywhere but no skilled graduates. doing a professional exam or certification doesnt guarantee u a job. if u learn d right skill. u'll get the right job. so stop nagging and do ur research well.

As an elect/elect grad, would suggest you go into networking. And not just do it to get a job but understand the technologies. Then good job offers will come knocking.

Professional courses are for everyone irrespective of your field. All it requires is your passion and interest. you are the best person to decide on whatever field you want to major in.

This post should not just be about talk, talk, talk. We need to discuss ways of building ourselves and assisting one another. Remember this is service year we are to use this period to build ourselves. 19800 would stop by Oct. What happens after that?

I am not been biased. I am just been honest with the situation of things. In a country with very high unemployed youths and inadequate access to information.
PMP, CAPM, Price2, ITIL are of no use till you have a job you are currently working on. You call yourself rich_pmp. Do you even know the difference btwn PMP, CAPM and Prince2, why these differences and what are the real reasons they were designed for... And i am not imposing any certification on anyone. I just dont want limited resources to be wasted.

richie_pmp: Who told you that taking PMP, HRM and Project Management Courses cant ensure Job opportunities for corpers after service??, If you really must be seen as high profile after your Service year, these courses you are neglecting are the ones that can guarantee you a space in the ever dynamic world of employment.

A PMP or a CAPM, will not only let your prospective employer put a premium on you but also put you in the eyes of world employment. These Certifications are international standards.

So pl reconsider your commment and inclination.

PMP, CAPM , ITIL are courses that require working experience. Its only in nigeria you see a corper doing PMP and can't defend it on a real life project. Because he/she never handled one. The Project management institutes know these, but won't tell you the truth. They only want to make profit. I worked for one and I know how the system works. Do PMP & SHE, 2yrs you will still be job hunting.

Corpers lack employment because they dont do the right thing at the right time.

i started it in the NYSC section cause i intend to use it to assist corpers only who want to go into certification and not the general public. Move it back to NYSC

1. Have more than one source of income.

Repair phones, laptop, bead making, event planning, arts and craft, recharge card selling, doing extra lesson for pupils, jamb lesson etc

2. No extravagant spending.

3. Take at least 2 professional certifications ( computer, physics and engineering corpers this is compulsory for you).

4. Start searching for a job while you serving and if you want to do masters start applying.

5. Make the right connections during service year not after service year.
