lekkie073: Anambra of all places...80percent of anambra is village. Θ only developed towns are onitsha, awka and nnewi...all others...idemili north and south, ihiala, agaUta, okija, ayamelum, etc я all villages. If na lie make any anambra indigene talkand tell us which other state in nigeria can booast of 2 industrial cities plus one capital city . anu mpama |
alj harem: My brother you talk with ignorance here. First of all I am an indigenous Lagosian (not a migrant) and in all of the SW states, Lagos is the most dangerous, I am not speaking out if ignorance here. The safest and the most peaceful in Oyo state.shut up hendiot, oyo is 10 times more dangerous than lagos , we have posted crime statistic here several times, what do u know about south east, enugu is the safest btw in the southeas |
Ileke-IdI:is she the only one helping people in nigeria , abeg make she face her front |
dubem3: Obi, we see you following Goodluck jonathan everywhere eating his shyt. Feeling fly. Thinking you are brilliant and got mouth like Obama. God de see you and i can almost touch your disappointment.obi told him exactly what he was doing , this is how another foolish governor from south west claimed that enugu is the poorest state till governor chime tore him apart, these foolish politicians should mind their regions and states that are already failures and stop pokenoosing into what happens int he south east , it is igbos like u backing them up that gives them the morale to keep doing so . if u see nothing wrong with branding anambra the worst state to do buisness in nigeria then u are yet to wake up and smell the cofee, el rufai knows what he is doing and it has nothing to do with caring about anambra people. |
Ileke-IdI:oh so who did yorubas vote for ? how come who yorubas voted for didnt win? thought ur politically savvy and most influential , how come igbo votes keep stopping your ambitions i just tire for una , running around the bush |
Ileke-IdI:and what did yorubas gain from 8 years of obasanjo if not scoring lower than SE,crying for odua regional governments and forming opc militants to harass fellow yorubas everyday smh |
Ileke-IdI:its still early for dat IF GEJ perfomes he can recontest if not he will be kicked out and PDP will likely feild another northerner so u will have both PDP and opposition fielding a norther that will give APGA a change to form its own coalitiona nd field an igbo ppresident ,how ever 2015 goes we have a good edge |
Ileke-IdI:yea right GEJ is from SS and not SE you voted a SS , noorth will not rule nigeria again until they get their region together and stop murdering southerners, if yorubas like go and vote for northerners it will still fail , meanwhile yoruba contribution to GEJ winning was low ,lagos cannot count as yoruba vote |
Sam_Ikenna: What I see here is pure chest beating - we're savvy, we're savvy. Is Nigeria over? does it mean you've won? What have you achieved that's not in other places? Is there anything special that you've achieved with this - we're savvy mantra? If political power were directly proportional to upward mobility then Northern Nigeria would be kings and queens now.it suprises me for a region like theirs that have no place in todays politics to be making such chest beating. they actually believe obj rulling counts as yoruba political savvyness , very funny people |
Ileke-IdI:who cares about biafra , am tlkin of u betraying the north , SE dont beg for votes and yorubas in real life are not as foolish as most of u here on nairaland sound , a lot of them will rather die than vote buhari cus they experienced his regime first hand. |
Ileke-IdI:u know nothing about nigerian politics, if GEJ is impeached today it wont make any difference cause the politicians are all the same , only a fool will think one party have better politicians than the other. it is funny that its the same yorubas that suffered most undr military regime including buhari are the ones pretending to support him . the truth is that GEJ can never fix nigeria because people like buhari and obj raped nigeria for over 40 years ,GEJ can only slow down the decay . |
PROUD-IGBO:dont mind them , i wonder when been a betrayer translates to being smart, well buhari will cry again and blood of innocent corpers and southerners will be shed again if they dont leave the north during next election because that is the only thing he knows |
Ileke-IdI:sharap why would any sane person vote buhari ,am sure u were not born when he ruled nigeria ,if u were u would never open ur stinking mouth to compare him and GEJ. which national cake ? the one yorubas have been crying about , thank your God that lagos was once capital till 1999 if not yoruba wont even have mouth to talk at all just like other yoruba shambles called states are a total write off. |
btw i didnt bother to read the thread cus i already know it will be field with poo , yorubas know nothing about politics, they should thank Igboos especially Ekwueme who fought to bring back democracy if not tinubu, obj and co wont be alive today to even talk just as the north have been killing yoruba leaders, always waiting for igbos to come and rescue you , dont worry until we get the presidency nigeria will continue to be the laughing stock of the world because you yoruba people with your northern masters lack the IQ to run a country. |
imagine yoruba that are the most irrelivant political group talking about politics what do they know about politics, tinubu of course is waiting for bribe again to betray ACN/CPC merger . too much oil in the soup , well nothing worong with wishful thinking. |
what is port harcourt today is a combination of various local govt from igbo, ijaw and ogoni speaking parts of rivers, nobody can clearly define ph anymore , it has consumed a lot of local governments .however these groups still know their boundries |
Nightshift: Does it occur to you that more students seek admission to Unizik than UNN due to the fact that premium university UNN is more competitive than Unizik? UNN is in another league than Unizik.Ok? Stop those your "OMATA"arguments!go siddon, premium indeed , like i said more people want to enroll into unilag followed by unizik ,UNN is known to be slow and sluggish ,nobody wants to waste his youth away in university |
afam4eva: Let's not be quick to castigate Peter Obi for defending his state. If I were in his shoes I'd do the same because even though El Rufai may have meant well, I think some of the statistics he brandished were ridiculous. I'm one of the biggest critic of Peter Obi on nairaland and it's not because he's the worse governor in Nigeria but because relative to potentials that Anambra possesses, he has'nt done too well. If he was governing a state like Ebonyi, Ekiti or Zamfara, he would have probably been crowned the best thing to happen to those states but his style of rulership does not soothe Anambra.exactly noody is saying anambra is heaven but comparing anambra to failed and non functioning states with fake statistics is height of mischief and stupidity on elrufai part. anambra is not working to my expectation but its far ahead almost all the states i can think of in nigeria |
olyivy: I can only contribute few things to this topic:am not defending obi i could care less about him , i hate lies and image assasination of anambra state. |
Abagworo: I dey laugh at your ignorance. It is always better to use facts than insinuations when dealing with issues than insults and tribalism. I will not stoop that low. You cannot deceive yourself when things are staring you right in the face. Visit google earth and see for yourself.like i said both state and federal government agricultural establishments in the south east are begging people like u to come and take loan and land and start farming but no u prefer to come to nairaland and write trash.if its not enough do something about it, at least i dont buy meat products and vegetables plus some food crops like maize cause my parents own their own non commercial poultry and garden small farm in enugu ,i just go and collect what i need. |
Ejiné:THE Onitsha Market in Anambra State has been described as the busiest and biggest market in the world by an American firm. The representatives of Carlton Company, who were in the city to interact with their customers, spoke yesterday. http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/news/25183-%E2%80%98onitsha-biggest-market-worldwide%E2%80%99.html Onitsha City in Anambra State is the 5th fastest growing city in the world. It is the biggest market in West Africa, the economic nerve center of Nigeria and the gateway to Eastern Nigeria (UN Habitat, 2009). Due to its rapid pace of growth and its projected growth rate, it is experiencing tremendous transportation challenges. Today, Onitsha is a modern day urban society, the people speak Igbo and English languages. There is a catholic cathedral, Anglican cathedral and it is the headquarters of so may church organizations and sociocultural groups. A federal government college is situated in the town. There is an army barrack, a school of metallurgy, and it is the home of the biggest market in the whole of Africa, the Onitsha Main Market. In southern Nigeria lays the bulging shops of the Onitsha market. Known as the world's biggest market, the shops are not empty. Goods stacked six feet high tower in the aisles as eager customers snatch up the products. Overworked salespeople try to keep up with the buying onslaught. Nearly 3 million people go to the Onitsha market daily to buy products such as rice, soap, construction equipment and computers. http://www.tnj.com/news/african-and-caribbean/hope-economic-growth-rises-continent-africa if u need more proof google is your friend or suggest to us a bigger market you know of |
mimifonwon: I beg sharap there, "where was rufai and buhari...blah blah" - the question you should be asking was where were your eastern leaders and why did they sale your pride, your allocations for their own personal benefits. When you need someone to blame, start by looking in the mirror and your igbo leaders, because they are the cause of your problems. If they didnt fold their hands and answer "yes sah- what eva you can give us we will take, as long as you oil my hand fest, if you know wharra i mean"(in igbo accent)...Mtcheww.. chetawa kwa egbe bere ugo bere, nke si ibe ya ebena nku kwaa ya na ijiri oso agbakwuru ogu amaghi na ogu bu onwu, - becareful how you defend things you dont know much about oo.. Ignorance is never bliss.i guess that why ogun is worse than where it was before OBJ became president yet u have the boldness to even put mouth in this discusion , u get mind shaa |
bestview: Mr man your talking trash. Who made Onoh and Nwobodo? If not the great Zik an Anambran? Enugu state remains backward when it come to education and intellectual. There is only two states in SE that are the epitome of education- Anambra and Imo; go figure. Its the bitter truth. Enugu can compete with the likes of Ebonyi, Taraba, Jigawa and co. when it comes to schools, education and number of graduates churned out.theres no need to go there with him |
bestview: This is Abeokuta the poorest and most backwarddont mind her she don run . let them keep declaring their states so we can keep shaming them. its a pity our fellow igbos dont even realise what is happening. where was elrufai and buhari when the federal government made sure the south east is the only region with no single federal government investment, lowest allocation and least number of states hell even common bridge is taking them decades to consider and when we work hard and build investments for ourselves and even better than theirs they run all around the media writing trash making sure they paint the region a no go area even when theirs is a write off. its simple logic if anambra goes down the whole southeast will go with it. |
Nightshift: Dude,The Coal City State have better and more schools than Anambra state at the moment. Can you compare schools in Onitsha/Nnewi to the ones at Enugu/Nsukka? The difference is crystal clear. People from Anambra state acquired those academic laurels which they boast of in the 70s and 80s. But since 1990 the dynamic has been changing. I bet you still think that Enugu state is a backward "Wawa State"?They are making incredible progress there.Besides, Enugu is politically more matured than Anambra state. Remember that Mr. Roy Umenyi and Chief Augustine Ezenwa, from areas in the present Anambra state were deputies to Jim and Onoh during the old Anambra state era.You can ask Mr.Ifeanyichukwu Enemchukwu, the then house speaker, what he knows about Enugu peoples political maturity. On the other hand, ofu ka anyi bu,dalu!we are not here to comapare schools, anambra stil have the highest number of schools and higher institution and enrollment(after imo) in the southeast , i schooled in enugu and yes the schools are good but i dont see how it relates to the discussion |
Abagworo: [s]I feel bad when my Igbo brothers and other Nigerians fail to see things from real point of view. I am from Imo and I have said it times without number that we are over-populated. Many people can no longer inherit a plot of land in their village because land is finished. How then can we farm? I've once said that the hope of Imo and Anambra in agriculture lies in the Niger basin between Ogbaru down to Ihiala for Anambra and the Anam area. The Egbema and Ohaji area in Imo. Any Government that is serious will develop agriculture in these selected areas of the States.i dont know what they do in imo but anambra is still a major cash crop producer especially yam , fish , poultry ,cocoa yam , palm oil ,cassava etc.stop this ignorance ,there are so many empty lands all over the southeast even in imo , the whole okigwe axis is oficially empty , south east governors have been begging you people to come and get free land for farming plus free equipments but no u prefer to run away and then come to nairaland to cry about how nobody is farming because of no land , i officially declare u a dummy an who told ur pathetic life that 4 million people that reside in anambra are from anambra? i bet u dont know that almost a quater of onitsha residents alone are from imo ,plus massive population of northerners and ijaw ,ibibio and igbo communities , ur begining to diusgust me |
mimifonwon: see this anu ohia oooh, if you must know am from ogun state, but my mom is from abia state, yes abia needs work also and i will say it, the governor is as horrible as anambra's- they all except imoke and maybe rochas- thieves and are not helping their people advance. Rather they point fingers at outsiders. My dear go do something better, am off to play soccer. ngwa nno nke oma!!!if u are from ogun u have no buisness even commenting on this thread ,u should be under ur bed and cover ur face to avoid being shamed in public , a whole capital city like abeoukuta cannot even booast of decent houses or even a decent cyber cafe , a one road fine city or rather village, anyway at least its getting crumbs from lagos. |
bestview: You must be sniffing something dude. I schooled in Unizik Awka, when last year I went to pickup my transcript I was overwhelmed by the level of development both by private and public sectors. Awka has some of the best architecture when it comes to edifices; a sight at Udoka and Abuja estates even Ngozika estate will prove my point. Even GRA Awka is another classy district. Besides that Awka is an emerging hospitality city with beautiful hotels and relaxation spots springing up everywhere even surpassing living houses. The town is serene, quiet and live-able going by the class of its enlightened residents. The only problem problem I identified is the Onitsha/Awka expressway which is being fixed as I write this piece, the reconstruction starts from Onitsha head bridge to Awka end of the road. The same expressway is the problem of Onitsha, which when completed everything will fall in place and beauty of the cities will show itself. Nnewi is the Japan of Africa, with the highest concentration of industries ranging from the world class motor company to Cutix Electric Cable to Motor Battery, etc.dont mind them most of them have never been to anambra except maybe passing through crowded and disorganised onitsha express and what they hear on news from trolls like el rufai |
manny4life: Gr8, I guess we're saying the same thing after all. Now let Mr. Obi quit being sentimental about it and use a "Triple WHAMMY" power of the media against him.yea what anambra needs is to clean up onitsha and nnewi well up to enugu city and calabar starndard at least and stop the commercialization of awka which is happening at a fast rate , awka should be preserved as a tourist and residential city , with few universities just like enugu city . |
mimifonwon: oh thanks, looks like my dream came true because anambra is a failure, and people like you living in fantasy world is helping it down further. kwasiaa paa!!i bet your ashamed to even mention which state you are from |
mimifonwon: see your mentality so you equate development with industries, i feel sorry for you, but dont sleep on cross river, they have some major investors coming to build something great. ANd that is all i have to say for now.the only thing in calabar is the beauty just like enugu. learn to differentiate between a tourist destination and an industrial city. good for them so are major forein investors investin in anabra ,besides we dont wait for people to come and invest since u scare them away with such media propaganda written in hell we invest on ourselves just as we have built an oil refinary industry , vehicle manufacturing plant, motorcycle manufacturing plants, private universities ,transport companies ,onitsha main market the list is endless discussion are on the way between big shots in anambra to build an airport and another 3rd onitsha bridge plus a major south east airline. kepp wishing anambra to be a failed styate it will only be one in ur dreams. |
Nightshift: According to available statistics,Anambra state has not been producing more undergraduates than Enugu or Imo states. There aren't enough quality schools in the state like in the above mentioned two states.Last year, more students from Enugu state, for instance, gained admission to Nigerian universities than their Anambra counterparts. No emotions dude, the facts are there! The state can also be said to be too rough for normal academic work. You want to argue against those facts?jamb indicated imo have the highest number of aplicant and enrollment followed closely by anambra and unizik in anambra is the second most sought after university after unilag, we discussed this several days ago , also anambra have more school and higher institution than any other state in the south east south south, the whole north and some states in south west of nigeria |
