recently it was raise at the floor of the senate, but the senate president turn it down, just 20k to unemployed youth, that the FG cant cope with it or so, mind you they steal in billions, FG can cope with that. now their cup don full, na me and you them still wan rape, calling it austerity measure, instead of them to bring back the billions they have stole.

Against the backdrop of the fall in global oil prices, the landing cost of petrol dropped to N82.41 per litre as of Monday, December 29, from N127.57 on November 3, the PPPRA data showed.

With the reduction in the retail price of petrol to N97.90 on December 29, the Federal Government’s spending on petrol subsidy has, therefore, fallen to a five-year low of N0.90 per litre as of that date, compared to N44.94 on November 3, 2014. The regulated pump price of petrol is N97.

As of November 3, the retail price of petrol was N141.94 per litre, the PPPRA stated. Nigeria, Africa’s top oil producer, relies on importation for most of its fuel needs as the country’s refineries are in a poor state. The fall in oil price has triggered the decline in the landing cost of petrol.

There have been calls in some quarters on the government to reduce the pump price of petroleum products as the price of crude oil, which constitutes a major component in the pricing template, have plunged by more than 50 per cent.

Okonjo-Iweala had in the overview of the 2015 budget proposal dated December 17, 2014, said, “Many Nigerians have rightly asked when the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit will be reduced, given the declining price of oil. As you know, the relevant agency of government responsible for petroleum product pricing matters is the PPPRA.

“The information we have is that they are now updating their template based on recent developments and we hope they can address this issue soon. However, preliminary estimates show
that the break-even crude oil price at which the
landed cost of PMS will equal our current price of
N97 per litre so that there will no longer be subsidy is about $60 per barrel.”

She further said, “It is only when the crude oil price
(Bonny Light) falls below this level that the pump price of PMS (which includes N15.49 per litre distribution and Petroleum Equalisation Fund cost) can begin to come down. The break-even price of
crude oil would have been higher were it not for the
N15.49 per litre distribution margin.” Okonjo-Iweala said the oil price was extremely volatile and “we need to see the price settle at a particular level for sometime before taking a decision on what to do with the pump price.”

Provision for fuel subsidy as contained in the 2015
budget proposal is N291bn, down by N680bn from
the N971bn approved for 2014.

After all these provisions are made and enforced, shouldn't the pump price of petrol reduce since there is a reduction in landing cost of the product and the continuous implementation of subsidy?

We didn't all start hearing those rumours today.

I still wouldn't judge because I do not go to church because of what the pastor is or is not.

I believe we have said enough about this issue, let those who want to pay keep paying and those who see it as a venture to the pastor steer clear. He isn't the only pastor in Nigeria anyway!

He did not start seeing money today and he did not introduce a gate fee this year; he started 2011.
Moreover, he cannot boast of 20million every Sunday. Because of the signifance people attach to the first day of the year they are more likely to part with their money. Imagine how some people look at others who did not go to church that night. He is an entrepreneur who knows when demand is high for his services and took advantage of it.

If he had introduced d gate fee since 2011, why then is that of this year prompting unnecessary drama?

If people are aware he has been collecting gate fee, why then did they troop en-masse to be there? Or are there no other congregation they could have just worshipped in?

if collecting money is a means to control crowd it means there are people who still got there and turned back. So the transportation time and effort is still wasted. Humans are not that difficult to control if those who can't pay the money still went back. Can you not see clearly that the pastor is an entrepreneur?

People who could not pay saw it as a means to get shut out because they had a reason why they couldn't be let in.

Tell a man that he cannot go in because the hall is full and you wil see him scale fences or even hang on them just to watch.

Brother, humans still remain d most difficult class of animals to control. Take it to anywhere!

I am not justifying the act of the pastor but only saying maybe, that (over-population) was what he meant to curb by that act. After all, he didn't start seeing money today.

How many who are determined to see him live will agree to peacefully go back just because the hall is full, if it were u and after u are done wasting your transport, time, effort and risk going there and u are told to go back, will u take it lightly?
