with all the rant we have seen on nairaland and since monday that nnmadi kanu have been granted bail by dss what is stoping them from getting him realesed? so the whole biafra dont have 6million? or no body on level16 in d entire biafra?
kid. i guess the huge protest and the numerous non-igbos ready to be jailed for Kanu are still nairaland rant. the longer he stays there the greater the impact of his release, especially if its later unconditional as a result of pressures. The question is, who is ready to sacrifice for Oduastan the way Kanu is doing for Biafra? the pressures for his release has started coming and when he is finally released unconditionallly, he becomes a hero, go and do same for Oduastan

When yorubas say igbos dont build bridges along ethnic divide i laf at their mumuism. we all kw buhari's antecedents and we rejected him ryt from the time he tried to deceive us by running with Okadigbo and Ume-Ezeoke. our yes is yes and our no is no. we dnt want Buhari. Igbos were strongly behind Obasanjo, a yoruba man, and Shehu shagari an hausa man, both were sensitive to nigerias diversity and tried to carry everybody along. but yorubas embrace the devil as long as they think Igbos will be affected more

joeprince23:
I read with dissapointment the comments you made about rivers-state and PH I am not really consigned about your anti-biafra stand(because I'm neither pro or anti biafra) but I'm more consigned about comments hw u potrayed PH and rivers state at large. May I remind u that this is no longer 1997 prior to the creation of bayelsa state. PH consist of PHAlga and OBAlga. While OBAlga(the most populous lga in rivers) is absoltely ikwerre land wheras PHalga is about 60% ikwerre(upland) and 40% riverine(borokiri abuloma eagle and elephant islands) u were echoeing what has always kept us down in this state: UPLAND riverine dichotomy. I am not an ikwerre but rather an Ndoki ethnic nationality(though I see my self simply as an igbo man) I have this to say about my ikwerre neigbhours and brothers(ndoki land share boundy with ikwerre at IRIEBE in obio/akpor........ > .........> The Ikwere People And their Rejection Of Igbo Identity.
It amuses me when indigenes of Igbo-speaking communities
outside the South-East deny their Igbo identity. The Ikwerres,
represented by the likes of Okachikwu Dibia, are the fiercest
and most strident in this act of playing the ostrich. The
renowned writer Elechi Amadi, an Ikwerre man, restated this
renunciation before the Oputa Panel in 2004 but was
reminded of his Igbo name. Ironically, he is quoted to have
upheld the Igbo origin of Ikwerres in one of his writings.
Howbeit, Igbos in South-East Nigeria justifiably regard the
Igbo-speaking areas of Rivers State (Ikwerre, Etche, Ogba,
Ekpeye, Opobo, Ahaoda, Ndoni, Egbema, etc) as their kith
and kin. On the other hand, the Ijaws and other non-Igbos of
Rivers State also rightly refer to these communities as Igbos,
and even claim that Rivers State has been under Igbo rule
since 1999!
Generally, a person native name, mother-tongue, pedigree
and ancestral geographical location define his race. But this
may not be so in cases where an individual bears a name
and speaks a language unrelated to the one associated with
his ancestors. However, when the indigenes of an entire
community speak as their mother tongue a language
associated with a particular race, bear names borne only by
persons of that race, share boundaries with communities
within that race and have traditions similar to theirs, then
the inescapable conclusion is that they belong to that race.
This is the place of Ikwerres and other Igbo-speaking
communities in Rivers, Delta, Edo and Cross River States vis-
à -vis the Igbos of the South-East.

Furthermore, was Ikwerre ruled by the 19th century King
Jaja of Opobo, an ex-slave from Amaigbo in Imo State who
transformed to king of Opobo (Igwe Nga) in present-day
Rivers State? Even so, that is not tantamount to colonization
by NdI Igbo. However, the case of Jaja shows that some of
the present-day non-Igbo indigenes of Rivers and Bayelsa
States may be descendants of Igbo slaves who escaped
exportation overseas and settled in the midst of Ijaws,
gradually acquiring a semblance of the latter. For instance, a
friend of mine from a community in Yenagoa told me that
Igbo words and expressions constitute about seventy
percent of their vocabulary.

As an Igbo, I feel so sad for the so called little Ikwere
kingdom. Some of their leaders are messing their minds up
as far as Identity is concerned. The Civil war did not make
the situation better as some (Not all) the Ikwere people went
into this biblical Peter scenario. By the way, the Igbos in
Anambra, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi,Enugu, Delta have better
objectives and things to pursue than comming after a group
of some lost souls who think that changing their original
names will give them another identity. No, it makes them
look very funny and ridiculous and that,s why the Ijaws and
Kalabari,s can,t stand them and succed in putting elements
of maginalization to their causes. We have to understand
that the abandoned property issue of the 1970,s were
mainly superheaded by the Ikweres out of jealousy and
hatred of the mainland Igbos who earned those properties
by hardwork. If they cite grieviences against the Igbos for the
role they played on the seizure their properties, which group
in the world do not have problems. The difference is that
they make up , unite and move on. Instead the Ikwerre
people decided to teach the Igbos a lesson. Where has it left
issues and relationships today" ? No where". The Igbos
bounced back immedietly after the civil war with the 2
pounds that Awolowo and the Hausas gave them with
seizure of all their properties including those in Porthacourt
with the help of the IKWERRE people . My take is this to the
Ikwerres" It is up to you to make amends and come back to
the greater Igbo nation. If they decide to disappear from the
radar, it is their perogative but there unborn generations
will suffer the consequences and not the current selfish
people with no long term vision parading themselves as
leaders.
the bolded is very simple and logical. all these irrelevant Edo or other tribes should kw that we have nothing with them if they dont want to join biafra but nobody is going to steal igboland in the name of South South

Even if they like they protest go Cameroon its just water of time. You guys don't seem to understand.the North east scenario is totally different. Is IPOB ready to take it to the next level .One start attacking govt or its installations.Attacking the people .This are questions they need to ask themselves.Until this they are not ready. If they decide attacking other tribes then they are in for big surprise. The retaliation will be enormous, mind you people already have pent up anger.if they start attacking govt installations.when the military descend they will be the ones shouting and even abusing IPOB.Mind you this time around any hostility will be to the finish and never for Biafra to rise again even in their dreams or imagination.lastly no more political relevance or Economic accommodation. This time the price to be paid will be disastrous.Military this time around. They will be fighting a definite enemy, your sons and daughter will be the soldiers that will be posted initially for you to finish.then more serious capabilities will be brought in.Mind you your territory is small meaning easier for them to manage. The whole of the SouthEast is just about half of Yobe state.
