Onegai: Before we all start celebrating, calm down and hear this: THIS MAY NOT BE THE BEST OPTION FOR ABA'S SHOE INDUSTRY.
The Chinese and Lebanese and Italians did the same thing: they came to. Nigeria and marvelled. at how skilled your wood workers were in furniture making using local tools. But instead of investing in the business, they simply set up their own factories, hired those carpenters, put their people in places of authority over them and sold the finished products through shop fronts in major cities (with themselves as the face of the business). The carpenters who didn't join them are now struggling to sustain themselves since they are losing customers.
Instead of creating local businesses, we now have Chinese and Lebanese companies (who remit most of their profits back home) in Nigeria. Nigerian businesses are dying but foreign-owned businesses are growing at their expense. Innoson will be sacrificed for Peugeot assembly plant, Ebeano Supermarkets Ltd will die but Shoprite will flourish. Instead of more wealthy local businesses, you will have middle-class people who don't own their businesses, but inflation will keep rising. Because though their goods are made in Nigeria, they're not still cheap.
For any country or area to grow, it must be protected from. outside businesses and local content be encouraged. People who live in the area will more readily develop it than someone making a profit from the area but not emotionally invested in it. Look at every country success story: not one was developed by Foreign Investment.
If I was the chairman of the Aba Shoe Industry, I would thank these Brazilians and ask for equipment and technology and training in exchange for 40% of the profits for a set number of years. Protect your business, or better yet, send enough Igbo guys to Brazil and Turkey and India and Asia to study and only collect money from the Brazilians to buy the equipment and repay back with interest.
Handing over their industry to foreigners is making themselves employees and middlemen when they should have been entrepreneurs and wealthy. the bolded is why i keep laughing at yoruba ppl, i am not quite sure wheather they they understand the true meaning of development. |

see them, giving excuses. if its in the east they will descend on the thread. i have always told them that wat they call "baby factory" in the east should actually be encouraged, its a positive thing. let teenagers who mistakenly got pregnant not flood our streets with street urchins, let their baby be adopted through the unofficial means (most ppl cant afford the legal adoption) by couples could not have a child. Dats how its done in advanced countries |

dukecharles: Anioma people are Igbos, they have the spirit of chiompions like their brothers in SE, when you talk of illustrious sons and daughters of Delta State, more than 90% came from Anioma. The stalion gene is synonymous with the Igbos no matter the label you give them... Delta Igbos, SE Igbos, Rivers Igbos, ikwere Igbos or Igweocha Igbos it all stands for greatness. A tribe other will always envy. Ya dats true, the great ppl in delta state are the delta igbos (anioma). all these yeye tribes shouting "our oyel" are useless to us in the first place. they lack human capital which is the greatest asset in biafra and not some stvpid "oyel" |

Barcanista and truckpusher are Niger Deltans who have also denounced biafra. 3. Sacked Nyesom Wike also insisted on the indivisibility of Nigeria. I cant find Yoruba in all these. did Wike insist on indivisibility of Nigeria more than Okorocha or Peter Obi or other SE politicians?? Is bacanister more than many niger deltans now in detention for biafran cause? some niger deltans support Biafra while some ppl SE do not sopport Biafra. but Biafran agitators asked for simple referandum |

Seungrandfather: I was just watching a documentary about the war in Yemen and watched with utter sadness as people recount their ordeal about how they are suffering. A man brought his wife who was hit by shrapnel when their home was hit by shelling to the hospital. The most painful part is that the man said they have not eaten for over two days and the wife is heavily pregnant and her due dates is only days away. War is bad!!! If this war that the Igbo people are clamoring for finally comes I dont think they have the balls to see it through. If they really believe turning Nigeria into another Somaliland or Central Africa Republic or South Sudan or Libya, Syria they should think twice because war bring nothing but suffering and untold hardship. But if they are hellbent on starting this war they should just revolve it round their place and see if they are ready to face the steep consequence. Think deeply before you act not act before you think!!! which war are u ppl even talking about self dont u ppl kw wat a referandum mean was ther a war in Britain wen Scottish had a referandum?? |
