*UPDATE* A court has heard she was more than five times the legal drink-drive limit when she died. The inquest into her death heard she had 416mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood. However, toxicology results showed there were no illegal substances in her body when she died. |

As reported by TheSunUK - A Coroner will hear today that Amy Winehouse was killed by booze not drugs. Her distraught dad Mitch and mum Janis are expected to attend an inquest into her death at St Pancras Coroner's Court in central London. Amy's family say toxicology results showed the presence of alcohol but no illegal drugs in her body when she died. The Rehab singer, 27, was found dead in bed at her £2.3million home in Camden, North London, in July. Cabbie Mitch, 60, said she had made a "fantastic recovery" from drug addiction and had not drunk booze for three weeks. Family sources suggested her death could have been caused by sudden alcohol withdrawal after she ignored doctors' warnings to cut down gradually. Meanwhile the tragic star's close pal Kelly Osbourne hit out at a fake Amy Winehouse for sending her a cruel Twitter message. It said: "Miss ya darling! x". Other sick tweets included: "I'm alive and I am well. I'm just not here (with you), not so swell. But I watch over you above in the sky so blue. Miss ya daddy. love ya too x." Kelly replied: "That's not f***ing funny. You should be ashamed." |
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Tuesday, said it had informed the family and lawyers of detained ace comedian, Mr. Babatunde Omidina (Baba Suwe), of their readiness to release him to them for an independent scan to bring the matter to a conclusive end. Confirming the development, NDLEA Airport Commander, Mr. Hamza Umar, said the agency made this position known to the family members and his lawyers when they visited their office on Monday. He also said they were told to take him to any independent scan examination of their choice under the watchful eyes of the agency, assuring that they were prepared to release the actor should the independent scan say otherwise. However, 72 hours after this assurance was reportedly given, neither the family nor the lawyers had returned to the agency to inform it of their decision. Umar said the agency was ready and anxious to collaborate with the family and lawyers to bring the matter to a close. Baba Suwe, who has been in the custody of NDLEA since October 12, over alleged possession of cocaine, was said to have made a series of excretions but no drug has been found on them. The NDLEA said the actor will continue to be under their observation. Baba Suwe was nabbed aboard an Air France aircraft to Paris at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja, Lagos, about 10p.m. on Wednesday, October 12 when he allegedly tested positive to drug ingestion and had been placed under observation since then. Baba Suwe had on Monday asked a Federal High Court in Lagos, presided over by Justice Okechukwu Okeke, to vacate an order he gave, which empowered NDLEA to detain him for additional 15 days. The request formed part of a motion on notice he brought, pursuant to Order 26 Rule 11 of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2009. The artiste, while asking for an order of the court discharging or vacating the order issued by Justice Okeke, argued that the application for the order obtained by NDLEA was grossly irregular and constituted an abuse of the processes of the court. In the motion filed by his counsel, Bamidele Aturu, Baba Suwe also argued that the application for the order obtained by the respondent was contrary to public policy and constituted a wanton violation of his fundamental rights. |

Maria Topp, 44, from Wreckenton, Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm at Newcastle Crown Court. She bit Martin Douglas, her partner of five years, during a drunken brawl at his flat. She was granted bail to be sentenced next month and Recorder Robin Mairs warned her: 'All options are open and that will include locking you up.' Mr Douglas needed emergency surgery to re-attach his genitals after the attack, which Topp remembers little about. Read more » |
A baby girl who was born with two mouths and wasn't expected to survive infancy is doing well after receiving ground-breaking surgery to cure her rare condition. Rokaya Mohamed traveled all the way from Egypt to California to be the first patient to undergo the unique surgical process from Dr. William Magee III at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles. The 15-month-old suffers from a rare condition that causes her to have two full mouths - both with an upper and lower jaw - that is a variation of a facial cleft. Doctors in her homeland didn't expect the baby to survive past two months because she couldn't eat, but after being raised on a liquid diet she successfully beat the odds. "The X-rays, the ultrasound didn't show us how her face is going to be," Rokaya's father, Tamer Mohamed, told KABC-TV, through an interpreter. "We are going to fight to change her life." While her parents love her like she was a normal child, her father said she gets hateful stares and comments back home in Cairo that forces them to cover her face. "We don't need that. We are going to fight to change her life," he explained. When medical help wasn't available in Egypt, numerous charities stepped in to help bring the unusual case to the U.S. for treatment. "We haven't seen this exact pattern before. So that's what makes it unique," said Dr. Magee, whose parents founded Operation Smile 30 years ago, a charity that aids children born with cleft lips and facial deformities who can't afford treatment. Rokaya received her first surgery last Wednesday to peel away the soft tissues and fix the foundation of her face, and there will be many more surgeries in her future. "We're very well-experienced in terms of bringing in children around the world for these surgeries," said Dr. Magee III. "We thought we could do an excellent job and get her home safely. She's done quite well, better than we anticipated." He is now confident that an Egyptian team of doctors will be able to successfully take over Rokaya's medical needs. read more>> |

IMO there'z no specific way to woo a lady/girl, am of the opinion you are wary of rejection. you can try and be friendly first (just to get closer and know if she'll be interested in you), but not too friendly as you'll be a friend for a life. |
k-leg, yeah I can decipher. whatz a yam leg? |
we we:try to understand my point bro. the link is to buttress my view that he was 'murdered' by the west and not a debate/support of/for his good deeds or bad. ![]() |
I do not support Gaddafi in any way or his actions, but lets face the fact, he was murdered by the west. Libyans do not know "the pot of soup" they are in yet! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muammar_Gaddafi Assassination attempts and plots on Gaddafi In 1969, the British Special Air Service (S.A.S.) was contacted by the Libyan Royal Family and planned an assassination attempt to restore the Libyan monarchy. The plan was dubbed the "Hilton Assignment", named after a Libyan jail. The plan was to release 150 political prisoners from a jail in Tripoli as a catalyst for a general uprising. The prisoners would be recruited for a coup attempt, and the British agents would leave them to take over the nation. The plan was called off at a late stage by the British Secret Intelligence Service because the United States government decided that Gaddafi was anti-Marxist and therefore acceptable.[280][281] In 1976, Tunisia's state television reported that Gaddafi had been fired at by a lone assailant. None of the shots hit him.[282] In 1981, French president Valéry Giscard d'Estaing plotted an assassination attempt with Egypt. His administration spoke with the Reagan administration for approval, but the United States did not support the measure. The plot was abandoned after Giscard's term in office.[283][284] In 1986, the United States bombed Libya, including Gaddafi's family compound in the vast Bab al-Azizia Barracks in southern Tripoli. The U.S. Government consistently said that the bombings were "surgical strikes" and were not intended to kill Gaddafi. However, Oliver North did devise a plot at the time to lure Gaddafi into his compound using Terry Waite. The plot violated US law, which prohibited assassinations, and was never put into action.[285] On 15 April, Gaddafi and his family had fled his compound in the Bab al-Azizia Barracks moments before it was bombed. He received a phone call the night of 15 April, warning him about an attack. The origin of the phone call remains under speculation, but Maltese Prime Minister Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici and Italian politician Bettino Craxi have been primary suspects. In 1993, over 2,000 Libyan soldiers plotted to assassinate Gaddafi.[286] The soldiers were members of the Warfalla tribe, which rebelled because it was not well-represented in the upper ranks of the Libyan Army. The coup attempt was crushed by the Libyan Air Force, which was entirely made of members of the Qadhadhfa tribe, which Gaddafi belongs to. The tribal tensions that resulted with the Warfalla and the Magariha caused Gaddafi to place his second-in-command, Abdessalam Jalloud, a Magariha, under house arrest, and led to oppression of the Warfalla.[287] The rebellion was largest in the city of Misrata. Libyan media did not cover any reports on the rebellion, but European diplomats saw large numbers of wounded and casualties in the hospitals.[288] In February 1996, Islamic extremists attacked Gaddafi's motorcade near the city of Sirte.[289] Allegedly, Britain's Secret Intelligence Service was involved, which was denied by future foreign secretary Robin Cook. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office later stated: "We have never denied that we knew of plots against Gaddafi."[290] In August 1998, former British MI5 officer David Shayler renewed his attacks on the secret services, claiming that MI6 had invested GB£100,000 in a plot to assassinate Gaddafi.[291] In June 1998, Islamic militants opened fire on Gaddafi's motorcade near the town of Dirnah. One of his Amazonian Guards sacrificed herself to save his life. He was injured in the elbow according to witnesses.[292] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muammar_Gaddafi |

A private schoolgirl died after falling 90ft down an air shaft while trying to visit a fellow holidaymaker’s apartment on a trip to Majorca. Grace Ford, 17, was celebrating finishing her A-levels when she met 18-year-old Edward Soppet during a night out in Magaluf. They planned to return to his room, but the building’s porter said no visitors were allowed. Instead, Mr Soppet apparently helped Grace climb through a window which they thought led to reception – but it opened into an air shaft. She fell 90ft to an internal patio at a lower level of the hotel, breaking both legs and her pelvis, while her friend – not realising why she had vanished – went to his room alone and fell asleep.
