A young Ghanaian woman was left terrified after she spotted a live alligator when she attempted to sweep her compound in Kokoase near Abrepo Junction in the Bantama constituency of Ghana.

The incident happened on Sunday morning.

According to reports, a young woman identified as Maame Kyerewaa spotted the live alligator when she attempted to sweep the compound.

Residents say the thing is surprising considering that there is no river or a lake near the house the alligator was found.


Maame Kyerewaa was unable to tell the number of days the alligator has been living in the house. Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo reported that some residents are linking the alligator to a ‘god’ which has visited them.

The landlord insisted that the alligator be killed but some residents objected to the idea, suggesting that the elders perform some rituals to the ‘gods’ to allow the alligator disappear on its own.

Multiple online reports revealed that a 30-year-old man committed suicide at the Axim, Western Region area of Ghana over a misunderstanding with his girlfriend.

The deceased identified as Kweku Mensah, who earns his living at the beach, took his life own life in connection with an unresolved issue between him and his girlfriend with whom he has two children.

The President of the Axim Youth Alliance identified as Kofi Nokoe, who disclosed the sad incident to the Ghana News Agency, said family sources told him that Mensah’s girlfriend had threatened to curtail the relationship due a misunderstanding.

Speaking further, he said the deceased, unable to withstand the loss of his girlfriend, decided to terminate his life.

He was found hanging on a tree and the body has since been deposited at the Axim Government Hospital.

No less than 100 suspected members of the dreaded Badoo Boys cult were arrested weekend, during a joint raid on the group’s hideouts by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, of Lagos State Police Command, Anti-Robbery operatives, members of the Oodua peoples Congress, OPC, and members of vigilante groups in Ikorodu.

Members of the cult had laid siege to Ikorodu and environs, unleashing an orgy of killings, during which they used heavy stones to crush the skulls of their victims.

Reliable Police sources yesterday, quoted a suspected member of the dreaded Badoo cult group as saying that each ritual handkerchief used to clean victims’ blood after operation was sold for N500,000 to herbalists and some prominent Nigerians for money rituals.

Sources told newsmen that some of the suspects confessed to be mere errand boys, adding that their use of grinding stones in killing victims was to ensure efficacy of the money rituals.

At the last count, over 30 persons, among them, family members, including toddlers, have had life snuffed out of them by the dreaded Badoo boys.

Their modus operandi included storming victims’ residences while they are asleep. It is suspected that they usually hypnotized their victims, as none of them, except during last week’s operation at Odogunyan, had ever been conscious of their presence.

They would, thereafter, smash victims’ heads with a grinding stone and use a handkerchief to clean the blood and brain before leaving the scene. They usually left without taking any valuables.

British boxing heavyweight, Tyson Fury has said he wants to fight Anthony Joshua, who is of Nigerian descent, in the city of Lagos. Ever since Anthony Joshua defeated Ukraine's giant Wladimir Klitschko and was crowned world heavyweight champion, Fury has been calling out and trading words with the Nigerian boxer.

In a recent interview with iFilm TV, the 28-year-old said: “It may not be at Wembley, the fight might be in Nigeria in Lagos. I’ve heard they’ve got an 180,000-seater there.

“So considering I’m the ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ now then we’ll go over there.

“Or it could be in Ireland at Croke Park, that holds a lot of people or it could be at Wembley, you never know.”

Fury has hinted a September return to the ring for a shot at the IBO, IBF, and WBO heavyweight belts.
