It all happend on the eve of June 1985. We as humans we think we are indispensable but is it really so?.

Mike a medical expert, who walks in a Government hospital in the city of Abuja, lives with is dear wife and only son. He is known as the best medical practitioner in the hospital he works. He could sacrifice all his attention to is patient and carry out all the surgical operations perfectly well. He could deny his family the comfort of being with them at home, talk-less of having his breakfast at times to work.

His wife often get upset at him for his behaviour he do put on. His wife could ask him; ”Honey, tell me are you the only medical expert in the hospital that you cannot have atleast your breakfast before going for work.” She could say furiously. He could do nothing else but to look at her and smile saying; “The nature of my work is too critical and I am the only one who know what to do best. I know you want me to do my best to save lives. So that you would be proud of me.”He said as he hold onto his dear wife and hug her.

He could rush into the hospital, change to his lab-coat rush into the theatre and conduct a surgical operation perfectly well. Soon he became the envy of all the medical practioners in the hospital. Due to his hard work, he was made the head of the surgical department. He could sit in his office, soliloquizing to himself happily. “I know my wife will be so proud of me at this news. I worked for this, and I have achieved my goals successfully.” He said to his self.

His wife was joyous as the news was being broke out to her. “I knew it!. I knew that my husband will make me proud, not just me alone but the society at large.” She could say smiling.

Few months after is promotion, foreign experts came into the country. They came for screenning so as to carry along with them to their country, best surgeons. Luck was on his side as he was among. This could make his wife more worried as to how she was going to miss her husband, compared to when he was in town with them, he never had the chance of being with them that much. Here he is going to be away for some months where neither she nor their only son would see him.

After about a month, soon after they were in China, there was a problem and its needed urgent attention. He {Mike} decided to help out since he was noted as the best medical practioner. He worked so hard and at times forgets having his breakfast nor launch. He did everything as if, if he can’t do it or doesn’t do it, no one else would. He could be confronted by some of his colleagues over ‘is too know attitude’ but he could count it as jealousy.

One day, he was left to be in the hospital alone due to his over-working behaviour. Unfortunately, there was a fire out break and there was no one to help, he was victimized such that, he was rush to the hospital the next day. Unfortunately, he passed away. This was trully a great hell for his wife and son. She could wept bitterly and say to her self” I told him, but he wouldn’t listen to me. He died out of his indispensable life style. Oh mike has made me a widow.” Those where the words of his wife.

At the burial, the head of the medical association, medical practioners, nurses, where present. The chief medical director turned to his wife and said that; “Two weeks after your husband death, a new staff was appointed as the head of the surgical department and someone else was made to join the foreign expert two days after his dead, due to an urgent situation. This words where like an arrow to Mike’s wife that strucked her badly. TRULLY NO ONE IS INDISPENSABLE
