Wow this leaves me speechless

I stumbled on this while surfing the net and i was really amazed at this man's life and achievement(s) against any odds. He is one lucky man... Thank God Nigeria has a polio-free record for the past 2years, please let us keep the years counting. Polio is a bastard and more often than not, it causes permanent paralysis

*******
Before going any further, let us understand what an “iron lung” is: it’s not so much a lung as a rigid case fitted over a patient’s body to assist him in breathing by pumping air into his lungs with the aid of mechanical pumps. The iron lung is perhaps most commonly associated with polio, often going hand-in-hand with it, as most polio patients spent a large chunk of their life confined within the iron lung.

Another fact about the iron lung: it is only rarely used today, so much so, that they have stopped making parts for iron lungs. In fact, only 10 people use the iron lung today; seven of them are in the United States. One of them is Paul Alexander.
Paul Alexander , This man uses iron lung to breathe

Alexander, who hails from Texas, is now almost 68. He was left completely paralyzed by polio at the age of six, owing to which his lungs stopped working; he has been largely dependent on and confined to his iron lung ever since. It has now been 62 years that Alexander has spent in the iron lung: he still remains completely paralysed, and is only able to move his head, neck, and mouth.

However, that is not the remarkable bit: Alexander taught himself voluntary breathing, which allowed him to escape the iron lung for a few hours at a time. Besides this, Alexander has three college degrees to his name, which allowed him to forge a successful career as a lawyer and set up a successful private law practice. The few hours that he can spend out of confinement are used whenever he may be litigating a case or giving a speech.

While Alexander condemns the machine he is confined to, he also gratefully admits that had it not been for the machine, he wouldn’t be alive today: ‘It is my cage, but it’s also my cocoon,’ says he.

Don't mind that Ole buruku. ..after diving into that pond(imagine, ordinary pond..not Indian Ocean ) to get Sugni's marital necklace, dude started forming "cold is cashing me". He tried to catch feelings with Sugni, only for "their creator" to release one big Timber from the roof of the shack they were in. He's lucky, Sugni would have been scrapping his splattered brains off the floor by now. If not for Vikram's desperation/impatience...Sugni would have ended up like Pia(come back begging)

Abeg Vikram dey fall my hand jor, wetin sef he shud just leave d babe alon nd leave dt community

my thought @ a point too

That awkward moment when Sahiba ( "Anu" ) shoved Daljeet's outstretched arms and ran towards Fateh (Ranveer's splitting image).

Epic!

Everything about the production is poor. Ranveer died and they didnt even give us 1 episode to mourn him! Immediately dem don bring am back as Fateh! When Fateh go die now, dem go still use am as Sahiba pikin...... na wa o...... no wonder dey call it ETERNAL love...... Sahiba is eternally bound to Ranveer mehn!

@ d emboldened, is Fateh gonna die too? Mtcheeew, whc kain fate dem carry giv Sahiba like dis oo, chooo.

Forwetinnah:
Adi doesn't even have a passport size photo of Sugni anywhere but would you blame him though..house, e no get. Money to print and frame photo nko...ozila , Ngwanu put one small frame pic by the bedside...mbanu, to crown his mumu...he hasn't even expressed his infatuation to Sugni. What a man...such a whimp!! All he wants is to keep Sugni away from Vikram

Eish. .already having withdrawal symptoms, breaking free go soon end o. I think Saloni would take its place

Really? Awww....

MainHerioneHoon:
Yuvraj is a spoilt brat though , I think he is used to getting what he wants. He still think that his father's whole world revolves around him and that all he needed to do was smile and laugh and he would be back in his fathers good graces.

i pity am

Thanks, God bless u. Dis Yuvraj sef is mentally retarded, does he think with the fish brain he has at all? Oh oh, so he felt after humiliating them d way he did dey will laugh and pat his back when dey meet again? I dey vex sef

MainHerioneHoon:
Well let me try and remember sis

Yuvraj and Pavitra a decided to go on a date like they did when they first met. When they get to the restaurant they see that the rest of the Gorodia family is there. Yuvraj decides to go and greet his father and Suryakant pretends not to know him. Yuvraj insists that he is Suryakant's son and Suryakant tells him that his son is dead and that he only has four daughters. Back at the Gorodia Mansion. Yuvraj is furious that his father refused to aknowledge him and Menka says that parents sometimes say things they don't mean when they are angry . Pavitra acusses Menka of taking care of taking Suryakant's side. This causes Yuvraj to be very angry at his mother as well.

MainHerioneHoon:
Lol Suryakant saying telling Yuvraj that he is dead to him was the highlight of my evening. Did Yuvraj really expect his dad to embrace him and act like everything is okay?

sup sis, what happened 2 Yuvraj dat he came bck 2 family pls? I missed d 1st airing of 2day's episode and I just dozed off yle trying 2 watch d repeat.

Plot
The movie begins with Mahi Arora
( Kareena Kapoor), a renowned heroine,
being thrown out of a car at night. She
hails a taxi to a police station with the
intention of lodging a complaint. Before
she can do so, her secretary Rashid Bhai
( Govind Namdeo ) takes her from the
station. The movie then goes to flashback
for a while, showing the circumstances
and her relationship with a well-known
actor Aryan ( Arjun Rampal). Aryan is in
the divorce proceedings with his wife, and
dating Mahi. Mahi is completely in love
with Aryan, and during one of their
intimate moments, takes a video of them
just for fun. Aryan is split between his
current wife and son, his career, and over-
jealous Mahi. When Mahi comes to know
about an intimate scene Aryan is shooting
for a movie, she barges on to the set and
creates a ruckus, which upsets Aryan.
Later Mahi is teased by Aryan's current
wife in a party, and she insults her back.
While driven back from the party with
Aryan, Mahi raises the topic, which results
in her being thrown out of the car. Mahi
then goes into depression, putting her
career in jeopardy. One of her friends
suggests Mahi to stop playing the victim
and to get back again with a bang.
Heeding her advice, Mahi decides to
rejuvenate her career. She employs a
PRO, Pallavi ( Divya Dutta ) who reinvents
Mahi's image and puts her back on the
front page of every newspapers and
magazines. She starts relationship with an
upcoming cricketer, Angad Paul ( Randeep
Hooda ). Their love affair begins to
blossom and puts her back into the
spotlight. Mahi uses Angad to get role in
a big budget film. However, lead hero
manipulates so that all the spotlight in the
film goes to him and an item girl. Mahi is
dissatisfied despite the film being a
success, and in a desperate attempt to
prove her acting skills she works in an art
film for next nine months. In between
Angad proposes to Mahi, but she feels
that presently they should concentrate on
their respective careers. This causes Mahi
and Angad's relationship to end. Also the
art film never completes, again Mahi goes
into depression accompanied by heavy
drinking and smoking. As no big film
coming her way, she decides to work on a
low budget film with newcomers. Also she
agrees to make an appearance in the
marriage of an industrialist daughter. As
fate would have it, Mahi meets Aryan at
the wedding. Aryan seems to be
apologetic to Mahi for what he had done
to her. They decide to rekindle their affair.
Mahi is happy that Aryan is back in her
life. Also, he wants her to do a big budget
film with him. However, the director of the
film is reluctant to cast Mahi in the role of
the lead heroine as she has lost her
appeal. Mahi becomes insane about
losing the role to another heroine. She
asks Pallavi to leak the sex tape of her
and Aryan on the news so that she would
get back on the spotlight for the release of
her low budget film. As a result of this
controversy, the film becomes an instant
hit. However, when Rashid Bhai quits his
job and a veteran actress in the industry,
Shagufta Reza ( Helen ) whom Mahi
admires dearly, dies, Mahi decides to quit
acting as well. In the concluding scenes,
Mahi is shown walking alone in a foreign
country and on being asked if she is Mahi
Arora, she replies "no". It is implied that
Mahi moved on with her life.
