TravelRe: Nigerian Students In Germany..how Do You Survive?? by Bbinc: 7:21am On Apr 25, 2019
[quote author=hadassaheke post=77833837]Hey everyone! Been a bit..

I moved to Germany as a graduate student in Applied and Engineering Physics at the TUM in 2017 and I can only give some tips based on my own experience.

2. Choose what you can study. A lot of us get carried away by the badass and enticing name of a program and get stuck at the end or even drop out because of not being able to pass the requisite courses.
As someone rightly mentioned earlier, though studying in Germany is free, studies here is rigid and a tad bit tough given the poor system of education in Nigeria and all. You have to pass at least 30CP at the end of your 3rd semester or risked being dematriculated, although this may sound pretty easy but it isn't.
There have been instances of students who have been dematriculated in their final semester because they couldn't pass one compulsory course.
No go do pass yourself!

So on point

Officially joining the thread today
Was following all along but didn't comment because I was waiting to have all my documents ready.

Please I want to ask, On all my educational documents (FSLC, WAEC, BSC) , I use just two names ''DELE OBI'', but on all my official document, drivers licence, international passport, national ID card) I bear three names ''DELE OBI DANJUMA".

Would a court affidavit of addition of name suffice??

If not what else can I do?

Secondly, I studied Information and Communication Science with a 3.45 CGPA (2.16 German scale)
I'm looking at an M.Sc in either of computer science, data analysis or project management. I have some univeristies on my radar for COmputer science and data science already and would appreciate if anyone could be kind enough to include any school that is still accepting applications against winter.

Thirdly, I havent been able to find any tuition-free university offering Project management, any help I can get on it will be very much appreciated.

Thanks

For automatic admission, look for a private university or those that are not tuition free.

Hi
I know my case is different.. someone just help me out like that please lipsrsealed

My question is what easy course can someone study offer there, (by easy course, I mean a course that's very easy to undertake .. Just like library science in Nigeria, I hope someone gets what I mean)

2nd. What's school offers an almost automatic admission process

NB
I'm not really interested in working while shooling also..

Getting out of the country is the issue and honestly, I'm really not very interested in the degree, just want to get out of this country and can't find any faster means than student visa that's why I'm opting for it

You should want to know that there is "hope." An academic profile alone isn't a total criterion to secure a Master's admission whether research/course/thesis or project base programs. Its "not even" based on merits BUT several other factors left to the decision of the graduate committee/department.

Your CGPA isn't bad/weak, you stand a chance if you can present:

1. An intuitive and a well constructive Letter of Intent
2. Show good prowess of research or savvy ability to adapt to course work
3. Have a research work or a publication
4. Secure a supervisor(very important if its research)
5. Befriend the graduate secretary

BTW I have seen applicants with a CGPA slightly lower than yours getting funding and you even stand a better chance if you apply to many schools(some of Masters and colleges) if your available resources permits it.
Thanks a lot

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bbinc: 2:19pm On Mar 07, 2019
Hi,
Please what are my chances of getting admission into a master's programme in Canada (UBC or University of New Foundland) with a CGPA of 3.45/5.

Everyone I've asked seems to suggest I won't be able to get MSc direct and that I have to do a PGD first.

Please is it feasible or should I not waste my time embarassed

Anybody that want to leave Nigeria should do so quickly without hesitation if you have the resources.

I relocated out of that hell hole 1 year and 6 months ago through student visa to Sweden. I now have work permit after study, that is the best decision I have ever made in my life.
Please what school did you study in and how much did it cost

All the ones I'm seeing is costing between 9-11m and that's rather too expensive

Hi
Please I need more information about this Sweden. I have eyes on that place but information about the country as a whole is rather quite difficult as I've tried both Google, nairaland, quora to no avail. Please I'll like first hand info about the area

Worthy of interest .. what's the living conditions like
The academic environment
How easy is the visa process and
Cost of living in the area.

I hope I'm not asking for too much.

Any link or thread would also be appreciated.
