If someone died in a mysterios circuntanaces there might be need to carry out autopsy on the dead to ascertain the cause of death so that future occurence can be averted, especially wen the death is not natural.

So in this modern era when there is means of preserving human corpse from timely decay, immediate burial might be out of it.

^ You need to study Islam to know the reason for immediate burial of the dead. Decomposition of the body is just ONE out of many reasons.
