Politics › Lagos Court Remands ‘yahoo Boys’ In Ekiti Prison by BeautifulMind2(op): 7:57am On Aug 25, 2019
A Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos State, has given the order to remand nine suspected internet fraudsters in Ado-Ekiti prison pending the hearing of criminal charges filed against them.

Justice Nicholas Oweibo, the presiding judge and designated vacation judge for the Federal High Court in the Southwest, gave the order on Thursday, August 22, 2019 when the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan zonal office, arraigned the suspects before the court.

The suspects are Jejelowo Blessing, Charles Ilesanmi Omobolade, Adelanke Adesola Abiodun, Jejelowo Samson Olanrewaju and Quadri Adewale Ayuba.

Others are Raphael Sunday, Omoniyi Ifeoluwa Ajayi, Adebola Kazeem Adeyemi and Adeyeye Rasheed.

They were charged for sundry internet related offences including obtaining money by false pretence, impersonation and being in possession of forged and fraudulent documents to defraud unsuspecting foreigners.

The accused persons were arrested during a raid carried out in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State by operatives of the Commission on July 8, 2019.

They pleaded not-guilty to their respective charges when read to them.

Consequent upon the not-guilty plea, the EFCC legal team, led by Dr Ben Ubi, prayed the count for trial dates and ordered them to be remanded in Ado Ekiti prison.

The court granted the remand prayer, and also fixed two different dates for the hearing cases against the suspects.

September 23, 2019 was for trial of Jejelowo Blessing, Charles Ilesanmi Omobolade and Adelanke Adesola Abiodun cases, while Jejelowo Samson Olanrewaju, Quadri Adewale Ayuba, Rapheal Sunday, Omoniyi Ifeoluwa Ajayi, Adebola Kazeem Adeyemi and Adeyeye are to start answering to their criminal charges on September 25, 2019.

Politics › Peter Obi, Obaseki, Okowa, Obiano Eulogise Late Chief Onyema(photos) by BeautifulMind2(op): 12:00pm On Aug 03, 2019
The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, his Delta and Anambra counterparts, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and Dr. Willy Obiano have paid glowing tributes to the life and times of late Chief Michael Chukwuka Onyema.
The governors joined other dignitaries at the funeral mass held in honour of late Chief Michael Onyema at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mbosi, Ihiala, Anambra State, on Friday.

The Edo State Governor said late Chief Onyema left behind a great legacy which he urged the children to emulate and ensure that they contribute their quota to the development of society.
“You can tell from the attendance here that he was a great man and his children have done very well. The Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, is a very successful businessman. He is an accomplished entrepreneur, who is doing a lot for us in Edo State. His children have to represent him well and keep his legacy alive as the shoes he left are quite big.”
Anambra State Governor, Mr Willy Obiano, said late Chief Onyema left a great mark on the sands of time and urged guests at the funeral service not to grieve but to celebrate the late chief who lived a great life.

Obiano said, “This is a celebration of life. It is always our prayers as children to bury our parents at old age. Papa died well, took care of his children and had a good time. We believe he is in heaven praying for us. He has contributed his quota to make Anambra State the safest and one of the most peaceful places in Nigeria.”

The eldest son of the deceased and Chairman, Air Peace, Allen Onyema, thanked the guests for finding time to attend the funeral mass, stressing that his father was a religious man who showed love for the things of God and lived his life for the service of God and the Church.
Reflecting from the Bible book of Romans 14:12, the Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, extolled the exemplary life of late Pa Onyema while urging the children to emulate the good life their late father lived.

I think these high net-worth Igbo industrialists are aware of the toxic and anti-Igbo political-economy Nigeria operates under, and hence are quite happy to shun the limelight so all those bad-belle bastards, that just hate to see a Igbo man better them in anything, will be blissfully ignorant and think they've succeeded in keeping the 'nyamurees' under them and hence off the Forbes richest list!

Just check out the impressive business exploits of the likes of Prince Eze, Okwuosa of Oilserv, Ernie Azudialu of NESTOIL, the urbane and publicity shy Orjiakor of SEPLAT, Ifejika of Brittania-U, COSCHARIS....i could go on and on! All these and more, just from one state!? Very impressive! smiley

The fact that other people did something that doesn't make sense means you must do and defend the same thing?

It's like saying you must rape and commit crime because other people did the same thing.

Petty, shallow and ignorant tribal elements must make ignorant comparison because of their fragile tribal pride

You tribal trolls are really irredeemable.
You were blind when governors in your region were doing the same
