Two persons lost their lives yesterday following a clash between Hausa traders and some youths in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Our reporter learnt that fight ensued when some indigenous youths who operate as a taskforce went to Opaku park in Onne and demanded payment from Hausa traders doing business there.

A witness said the youths became angry when the traders declined paying them money, which resulted to a fight that led to the death of one of the taskforce members.

The witness said the taskforce in turn became enraged and started fighting the traders, thereby causing another death.

It was also gathered that the fight led to the burning of a Mosque and a Church in the area.

Remarking, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, said, “I am yet to get full details of it but we have swung into action. We will make the report available as soon as we are through.”

I always see some comment referring to Igbo's as petty traders.....but I think these people make more money than the company workers....

For example....I have a friend working in dangotes cement factory at Ogun....And also a brother who is a distributor of dangotes cement in my community....

My brother has build a home and have some estate in PH and Enugu....

But this my friend that work in dangotes factory can only afford a bedroom flat and always crying for money...

This is my observation....what are your take on this

an Igbo man company, but we are the ones benefiting from the company due to the location.

why did he not locate the factory in his home
This is y some of you end up poor....

But befitting what? a chicken salary job....he made his brothers the distributors and employed your people as labourers with tiny salary that may not be up to #100k....why is brothers make close to million monthly on distribution..
