Boss,

Your response are valid 100%.

My question is:

1. If your i-20 reads personal funds and the loan only got approved after you've submitted your DS-160 form would it appropriate to mention that you have a student loan?

Regards

NigPatriot:
Hi,
You've taken a good step by already obtaining a loan prior to your interview, trust me the VO would be impressed by that. Your plan in paying back should be embedded in what your plan to do when you're back. If this degree is actually worth it then the the Return on investment (ROI) should get you way more than this supposed loan. Look out for the very best companies in this your field here in Nigeria, and importantly tie a position which you'll come back to take. Loans can spread up to 20 years, 50 years and even a lifetime before they are completely paid off. The VO knows this, even most US citizens rack up students loans that even last their lifetime. Just have a plan of payback, based on the role this new degree would give you here in Nigeria. Don't just 'hope" not to be asked, that's you leaving your life to chance.

On the question of, If you have siblings in the USA. People have lied about it and gotten away with it. Doesn't mean your case would be similar. It's always advisable to be transparent. You just have to know what they're doing there, what state they're in and in most cases they might ask how they got there. Especially if it's an immediate relative.

All the best.
May the odds favor you.

TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by BECskills: 5:53am On Nov 14, 2021
I believe that before you secured the loan, you must have proven to the loan company that you have an Post MBA offer, which means you have plans of repaying the loan.

The loan officer should not be worried over that, it's largely between the company and you.

However, should the question come up, you refer to your Post MBA job offer.

mojolajesu:
Hi guys I need a little help, please.

I am on the verge of applying for my F1. I have acquired a loan worth $50k which I already made plans to pay the company back when I get to the US.

I am hoping that the VO will not ask me what are my plans for payback.

SHould in case he does, do you have any idea on how to put it so as not to reveal that I would be staying back eventually.

Also, how is it best to answer "do you have siblings in the US" when you have them? should you say yes or deny it?

Dear Guru's inhouse,

Once again thank you all for all that you do and keep doing.

How do one fill this section (work/training) on the ds160 form

- Have you belonged to, contributed to, or worked for any professional, social, or charitable organization?

Is it okay to fill organisations (social, religious, cultural, economic/business) where one has functioned as an investor, shareholder, member, volunteer, mentor etc?

Finally, considering our busy schedules, is anyone willing to review my ds160 form, I'd doubly appreciate it.

Once again thank you for your response in advance.

Regards.

Good Morning Gurus and everyone out here doing a great job.

My appointment confirmation number reads the DS160 number from my 1st Appointment which was in October, 2021 and it differs from what is on my current DS160.

How do I go about fixing it, my 2nd appointment is scheduled for December, 2021.

Thank you.

isthatso:
The problems of this nation have it roots in the pysche of the Ibo man, his quest to dominate others and the determination of the Fulani to keep them in check.

You are the one denying the obvious

which younger ones? the ones that couldnt even endure a protest or the ones spending their time on BBNaija or Nollywood, or nairabet?

you think you are smart but why arent you asking yourself why? if you do you will see I am right, why is it so diccicult to put an Ibo man into Aso rock for over 55 years? why is it the powers that be would rather a minority from the SS than an Ibo? The fundamental source of Nigerias problems can be traced to the ibos and so no one trusts them with power, wise men saw what they did in just a few months in 1966 and what the aim was. The powers that be wont allow state police or autonomy because they know when an ibo man does not get his way he will scattter everything with armed security units or with money to equip a rebellion. The ibo man is the reason the SS go to Abuja to collect their own money, the reason the SW goes to Abuja to collect vat generated in Sw, the reason why Zamfara mines gold and doesnt declare it.
Dear Isthatso,

I had taken time out to go through your post and honestly, I could see reasons with you based on the laid out assertions.

However, I have reason to believe that while your points seem valid, it may not gain absolute merit as it were especially generalised statement about Igbo's wanting to be in charge.

I am Igbo, and I have a click of friends who rarely cares who is in charge, I say so largely because I have encountered huge testimonies to this effect.

When we make such blanket statements it rather fuels the ember of hate and strongly deepens the cord of ethnic bias.

We must refrain from this if we are to make any form of reasonable progress as a nation. It is important that we reconsider our approach toward nation building. We've been on this blame game for far too long and it keeps leading us to a cul de sac.

I hope that someday, we will figure out how to reposition this nation either as an entity or cells. Until then we must try as twice to let love lead us.

With Love.

What you are doing here is rare. I used a corolla 1.8 to learn the ropes starting this year and I must say the experience is bloody.

But the good thing is an understand of what works and what doesn't.

I am humbled by the wisdom you have decided to share and I am willing to help build a viable e-hailing fleet management ecosystem.

Please do confirm if your 0805 number is whatsappable.

Salute..

gabacino78: How in your opinion can I set up this franchise system you talked about as I intend to mix maize and cassava in my 20 hectares farm in ogun state?
Gabacino78 I guess this question was meant for megainvest to answer. But on the best practices I got some wonderful documents from my research finding with USAID. I could forward to you. Kindly send me an email: BECS@mtnnigeria.blackberry.com
AgricultureRe: Maize Farming Startup by BECskills: 3:09am On Dec 25, 2013
Browne I Love your drift, could we get in touch for some nice talks. Cheers and a merry xmas to all of us Gods blessings.
PapaBrowne: I love this thread and more importantly, I love the renewed interest in Agriculture displayed here. NIgeria is defintely on the right path in this generation.

For the past 2-3 years, I have been involved in research on Agribusiness Value Chain. I have even founded a company in this regard. Based on that, I'll give my 2cents to the poster and to those others already engaged or seeking to engage in Agriculture.

I would start by saying that instead of having an Agricultural mindset, it's a better Idea to have an Agribusiness Mindset. The difference between the price of products sold at farm gate is miles apart from their actual value in the retail markets. With an Agribusiness mindset, you would seek to add value to the products you produce and in turn sell at much better prices.

I will use the calculations given by @Olushowumn to butress my point.
Based on Olushowumn's calcultions, 1 hectare of land should produce 50,000 hills of corn which would equate to 200,000 cubs. An Igba(not sure what that means) would contain 400-600 cubs and could be sold for between 2000-4000 Naira. Lets use 500 cubs and 3000 Naira as average for an Igba.

So,
500 cubs = 1 Igbas = 3000 Naira.
200,000 cubs = 400 bags = 1.2 million Naira per hectare.
So your 7 hectare would yeild 8.4 million Naira.
Now that's good money. Or so it seems.

Now let me tell you how much that amount of corn would be bought be consumers if its boiled or roasted and sold on the streets.

1 roasted or boiled cub of corn sells for 50 Naira each on average.
Lets assume that from the 200,000 cubs per hectare, we loose 25% and are left with 150,000 per hectare
If that amount of corn were sold retail we would get 150,000 cubs x 50 Naira = 7.5 million per hectare.
Your total farm would sell for 7.5 million x 7 = 52.2 million Naira.

Yes. 52.5 million Naira is the amount your corn would sell for on the streets by the time a simple value of Roasting or Boiling has been added to it. That is a very long way from what you will get if you choose to sell your corn at the international price of $300 per Metric Tonne.

Now this is what you get if you choose to sell you corn on the international market without adding value.
Based on you post, you will achieve 3 tons per hectare which is 21 tons for your 7 hectares

1 Metric tonne = Approx. $300 = 48,000 Naira.
21 Metric Tonnes= 21 x $300= $6300 = 1.01 Million Naira.

The big question is:
Why would I want to sell my corn internationally for 1 Million Naira when I can sell locally wholesale for 8.4 million or retail for 52.2 million Naira.

In a nutshell, taking a value added approach to your farming business is the way to go. Selling raw stock for a small farmer with 20 hectares for me is not ideal. Add value. Tweak the Value chain to your favour and see your farnm generate you millions. Thats exactly what the white man has done for ages. They take our Cocoa and turn it to chocolates. While the Cocoa market is worth about $7 Billion dollars annually, the Chocolate market is worth over $100 billion despite the fact that Chocolate is just one of the by products of Cocoa.

There are a million things that can be created from your corn.

Animal feed. Custard and Pap. Corn Starch. Corn Syrup. Corn Flour. Corn Cake. Corn Oil.

And a whole lot more.

My best: Developing a cool franchise system where your corn is either Roasted or Boiled at major street junctions.

xykms101: Stale News....Mind you converting to drc is not that easy for dssc but rc a lil easier for ssc, dssc has to undergo some combat training which they lack b4 filing for any conversion and this requires a lot of connections not in any form of brain or courses. Besides says who dssc commissioned are in the battle field, Lolz! Deploying dssc commissioned to battle field without combat training is nothing but a suicide mission so stop saying what is not possible bcoz of cheap points, Nigerian army don't gamble with human lives.
.
It is pertinent to note that when you have someone in the system and when you are in the system are two different things. For clarity purposes conversion to a regular officer is based on availablity and performance of the intending. Speaking of which the NA has much respect for the DSSC, for the fact that they aint trained for combat doesn't deny their promotion. Please always be informed and mind things you guys say on NL. Guess you guyz forget to know that their are Int officers on NL. Be Informed fellas and all the best.

Even as a young Architect, i still love d army that "I wouldn't mind being in d army for no payments"

But my question is if Architects are needed in military.

Someone with experience should answer me
As an Architect, your course is professional and I believe the Navy would need your hands.however, the Nigerian Army has the Corps of Engineers which I believe you fit in. So feel free to join.
