The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has disqualified six governorship aspirants ahead of its governorship primary in Imo state to be held for Friday.Among those disqualified is a frontline contender, Senator Bright Nwanne.
The NWC however cleared 13 other aspirants to run in an election that could make or mar the fortunes of the party the state.
Among others cleared was a former governor of the state, Ikedi Ohakim, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume,former speaker of the state House of Assembly, Ike Ibe, former member of the House of representatives, Uche Onyeaguocha, among others .Others disqualified apart from , Nwanne, were Chike Nsofor, Nnakolam Ibekwe, Obi Njoku,Charles Onyeagbako and Charles Onuoha.
A statement signed by APGA national chairman, Victor Oye, disclosed that while Nwanne, Njoku, Onyeagbako and Onuoha were not granted waivers to run, Ibekwe and Nsofor were “inactive members of the party.”

A major contender for the Anambra South senatorial ticket under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC),

Col. Geoff Onyejegbu has stepped down from the race and has backed Sen. Andy Uba to clinch the ticket.

Sen. Uba who posted a video of the speech where Onyejebu endorsed him to carry on, said that; ”I want to thank most sincerely Col Geoff Onyejegbu and our party leaders for the successful consensus building ahead of the senatorial primaries of our great party, the APC.

“I assure the good people of Anambra South and the South East that I will continue to do my best in ensuring good governance and quality representation if elected in 2019”.

The Colonel who spoke in the video, said that his decision to give up his aspiration was in order to align himself with the decision of the leadership of the party.

He said that the party at the National level had decided to return all the senators in the party for keeping faith with the party.

“I support and yield to Senator Andy to go and represent us, and get to the big picture of getting the sentae presidency,” he said,” he said.

Senator Uba in his response thanked the Colonel and members of the party for the support, stressing that there was no monetary inducement involved.

He rather explained that Col. Onyejebu has rather agreed to contribute to the campaign to return him (Sen. Uba) as the senator representing the zone.

The stepping down by Onyejegbu was simultaneous with the endorsement of Sen. Uba by stakeholders from Ozubulu, Ihembosi and Oraifite (hometown of one of the contenders), for the ticket.

Coming barely 24 hours to the senatorial primaries slated for Tuesday, the stakeholders hailed Uba as the best candidate among all the contenders to represent the Zone and therefore advised other aspirants to step down for Uba.

According to the stakeholders, they reached the resolution after extensive consultations and consideration of key factors and therefore came to the conclution that Sen. Uba was better than all the other good contenders.

They observed that Sen. Andy Uba, being the highest ranked APC senator from the Southeast, would in the 9th Senate, be the most qualified to become president of the Senate.

According to them, the prospect of the zone producing the next Senate president, is a fundamental reason for everyone to support Sen. Andy Uba.

Commending Col. Onyejegbu for his maturity, sagacity and sacrifice, a lecturer at the Takoradi Technical University, Ghana, Dr. Hyacinth Offodeme said, that the people of Anambra South will remain grateful to Onyejegbu for his sacrifice, which will put the senatorial zone in comfortable position to produce the next Senate president.

Dr. Offodeme, an indigene of Ekwusigo Local Government Area called on other contenders to to emulate Onyejegbu and step down for Sen. Uba.

Senator David Cobbina Brigidi was confirmed dead on Sunday morning after a short illness.

The 56-year-old who hails from Bayelsa State in Nigeria was a senator for the Bayelsa Central Senatorial District of Bayelsa State between 1997 to 2007.

The Imo state All Progressives Congress, APC, gubernatorial primaries, has been shifted to Tuesday.

The Chairman Electoral Committee, Ahmed Gulark, disclosed this to newsmen in Owerri. Gulark said: “I tender an unreserved apology to journalists. We could not hold the primaries as scheduled because of logistics problems.

“Election could not hold because we arrived very late. This excersie will commence by 6:30am on Tuesday. “It will take place in the 305, wards in the state, we have nine aspirants. Let me tell you no election took place in Imo state, if people garther in the 305 wards then it is their own exercise. The conduct of this primaries is vested on us.”

Not too make a long story out of it . I travelled to Nigeria for an occasion . While I was there I invited my sister in law to visit so we can attend the occasion together she came from Benin I was in Lagos. We attended the occasion together after the occasion we all went clubbing with my friends. after the club . we both went back to my hotel were I was staying I had booked a room for her prior to her coming We went straight to my room cos we gisting and continued drinking . not long afterwards she leaned over and kissed me . we then began smooching but I did not make love to her . If not for the fact that I'd had so much to drink and was so tired and passed out during the smooching. I don't know if I would have ended up having sex. The next day we both promised ourselves to delete from our memory what happened the night before. but since I have come back she has been calling me saying she has feeling for me .
