ifyalways: Wholesale. Leave retail business for Ghanaians. This is a lie. They only need more capital for you to do retail. There are other nationals who own supermarkets. Is that wholesale ? Simply put, petty trader and not retail. |

Just30: thats not bitterness thats just facts we place bans on the importation of so many second-hand stuffs Only for them to be coming in from our eastern borders Because we really don't have a border with Togo You are a pathetic liar. Will the average Ghanaian survive if not for second hand stuff especially from Germany? The kind you dont get to see in Nigeria . You think you can come here and just do eye service. Is it mattress, house hold appliances or furniture? They are well sold at Lapaz and other places. You misinformation is something else |

Just30: do you even know how long it took Kasapreko before it could enter the Nigerian market it basically had to result to smuggling it products through which even cost them more.
Just say you have no idea what it mean to move products across borders or sea ports My friend, if they can't move product from border, whose fault? Was burger peanut a big company? Your argument is not valid. |

Just30: Ghanaian cement companies cannot market their produce in Nigeria Ghanaian flour Mills cant sell their produce in Nigeria Ghanaian cannery companies cant access the Nigerian market because you guys cant stand competition
Here you are playing the victim card ECOWAS was supposed to ensure free trade you cant ban countries from accessing your market and expect them to open theirs for you
Next will be, severe restrictions on Nigerian Banks in Ghana Just another example to show how clueless you are; where is kasapreko? Aren't they Ghanaians? But origin drove them out of the market. What about burger peanut? You said Ghana businesses aren't allowed to market here and I just gave you an example. |

What's stops you from marketing your cement when dangote is marketing his in Ghana? You are joy saying the truth. There is no restriction at all. |

TheMan3: I currently employ about 11 Ghananians, and I know exactly what you are talking about.
I had to screen out some of them to make room for the really dedicated ones. Sometimes I wish I can bring my people from Nigeria to work here, but I don't want people to that image in their head that the company Is only for Nigerians To crown it all, they barely take responsibility for their actions. |

I wanted to start a company in Ghana, this company would have kicked off with initial capital close to 100k USD but they told me the smallest capital required for foreigners is 500k USD! And you have to pay some duties that will be about 50k USD, I knew this was one of the reasons the country ain't developing that fast , considering Ghana has a fairly stable democracy. They aren't investor friendly at all. It is not as if the Govt is providing loans for Ghanaians to start businesses, no way.
Just so you know, with 250k USD you can invest in Turkey and get a citizenship! |

Olumyco: If they pull out of Ghana, it will affect the economy because economic activities in the country would reduce to be honest with you. You might have to do a little research on economic activities/money circulation in a country and how the GDP of a country is calculated. You are looking down on retail trading forgetting that the pple there will spend the profit there in the country. They will rent houses, send Children to school etc. See Walmart Store (a retail store) in the US is one of the companies with the highest revenue in the world. You cant downgrade retail trading in a country. Even at present Ghana economy is declining and that means there is trouble in the country. I quite understand the idea of protecting local businesses but the Ghana Govt. can tax the shop owners there and thru dat the Govt. would make money. Infact I believe there are some monies those shop owners would be paying the Govt. To me the Govt. of Ghana would have to be wise. The time to increase the economic activities of the country is now. They need to be wise Mate, it would have been nice if Ghanaian were even competitive or taking these retails or whatever, no they are not. These people aren't savvy at all. I have been living in this country off and on. Their work ethic is the worst that I have seen so far. You literally have to push them, even if you are paying. They find the smallest excuse not to be productive. Lateness over here is something I worry about, I know this most an African thing, but Ghana takes it to another level entirely. You do yourself a great disservice if you pay a Ghanaian before doing your job for you. I have seen a few of them who are good too. They understand the importance of business and they don't mess about. But the general work ethic is next to zero! |

Lol this is funny. Trying to protect what business ? Even if you leave the Ghanaian business for 100 years, the average Ghana man is so comfortable and docile that nothing will move them. Where will they even get the money to do business ? Phew, y'all go and sleep. Nothing is threatened. |
