Esseite: 2,533 casualties.. 338 attacks...
Our media outfit truly are either being gagged or corrupt.. This is the first most of us are seeing this casualty death rate and attacks.
I personally think that. With all these true words coming out.. Buhari's support numbers are declining by the day within all aspect. I once said on this forum that our media house(s) are not reporting the real events on ground about the fight against terrorism but, guess what, zombies attacked me left, right & center that day and at the end of the day I was tagged IPOD Yoot & Wailer as they always do. My very tight friend(a soldier) has been in Bornu state for over three years now, we always chat about events on ground & what he always say about fight against terrorism is different from what our media house dishes out to the masses. Buhari & APC has gagged our media house, they can't talk and the worst part of it is that the top military men are not helping out either. They always report what the FG would like to hear. If you are still in doubt, Why Is It That At Times Foreign Media House Would Report An Attack In Maiduguri But, None Of Our Indigenous Media House Would Carry The News??if you are still doubting, do you remember that earlier this year it was reported that 105 soldiers were missing. The army debunked the news but, its true. Boko Haram Are Annihilating & Decimating Our Soldiers On Daily Basis, But To Buhari Supporters, WE ARE WINNING THE WAR AGAINST TERRORISM..Remember that Buhari made us & UN to believe and understand that boko Haram has been technically defeated, but that same Boko Haram attacked UN convoy. Buhari and APC are pathological liars, but Buhari in particular is a monumental failure.. I Will Lead The Way Against Terrorism- Buhari.. Buhari Promised To Visit Bornu State.Has He Done Any Of These?? Your guess is as good as mine. |

Politics › Boko Haram Are Displacing More Nigerians - UN by BeeBeeOoh(op): 9:29pm On Nov 15, 2016 |
The United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has raised the alarm that more Nigerians may be displaced in the coming days as a result of the resurgence of Boko Haram in the country’s north-east region.
Peter Lundberg, OCHA humanitarian coordinator for Nigeria said in a Press Conference in Abuja on Tuesday that the main driver of the humanitarian crisis in the north-east continues to be the threat of Boko Haram. He said up to 1.8 million people remain displaced across the six states of the north-east.
“The onset of the dry season enables greater mobility and the number of attacks on civilians has increased, which could see further displacement to the main centres,” OCHA says.
The organisation also expressed concerns that the use of suicide bombers may continue targeting crowded areas to maximise fatalities and create fears.
Data provided by OCHA shows that 338 Boko Haram related incidents have been recorded this year alone in the north-east with at least, 2,553 fatalities recorded within same period.
OCHA also raised concern about cases of right abuse in the Internally Displaced Persons camps, saying it was making effort to sensitize women and children on safety measures.
Speaking on the right violation in the internally displaced persons camps, Lundberg said OCHA’s job was to work towards the prevention of such cases.
He said efforts will be directed towards the provision of food to the displaced persons as well as those who have returned to their communities, as scarcity of food was responsible for the right abuse on the women and female children in the region. https://newtelegraphonline.com/boko-haram-displacing-nigerians-un/

The international Criminal Court of Justice (ICC) has invited the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice , Alhaji Abubakar Malami SAN to come and explain why those culpable should not be punished over last year’s Zaria clash between the military and Shi’ ites members. Based on the invitation, the AGF is expected to jet out to the ICC later today and explain the part played by the military during the clash. This is coming after the members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria otherwise known as the Shi’ites who Tuesday took their protest to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Head Quarters saying that not fewer than one hundred innocent citizens killed in Kano on Monday. The protesting Shi’ites members alleged that on Monday in Kano, well armed police men in about one hundred trucks after tear gassing thousands of peaceful Shi’ites members’ who were discharging their religious duty- the annual Arbaeen symbolic trek, opened fire on them. They called on the NHRC to inform President Muhammadu Buhari that its members are citizens of Nigeria that deserve to be protected from all kind of harm from enemies of peace and humanity. ”We equally urge the NHRC to remind Governor of Kano State not to turn the recently peaceful atmosphere enjoyed in the state into a place where innocent lives are being shed for the interest of blood thirsty devils”., said Sihi Ahemd from the Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (AFIMN). http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/general/icc-invites-agf-over-shi-ites-army-clash/171840.html

Politics › 2019: South-west Leaders, APC Chieftains Realign Forces - Newtelegraphonline by BeeBeeOoh(op): 2:39am On Nov 15, 2016 |
…reach out to PDP, other political parties The crisis within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) may have prompted some of the party’s chieftains in the South-West to commence a realignment with their kinsmen in the opposition parties, especially the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ahead of the 2019 elections.
New Telegraph learnt from multiple sources that the alignment moves were at different stages with diverse groups, particularly those who are not pleased with the APC-led Federal Government.
Although a cold war had ensued among the various blocs in the APC immediately after the victory of the party at the 2015 general elections, the relative peace finally got ruptured after the party’s primaries for the November 26 governorship election in Ondo State.
The party’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s scathing attack on the National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, whom he accused of taking side with the eventual candidate of the party, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, against his anointed, Mr. Segun Abraham, brought to fore, the party’s wide gulf.
On the other hand, the developments in the Ondo State chapter of the PDP, where Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), the candidate of Governor Olusegun Mimiko, is currently battling for the ticket with businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim of the Senator Ali Modu Sherrif ’s faction has alerted some party leaders in the zone of a possible plan of political annihilation from some Abuja-based political Turks. Relating the sequence of event to New Telegraph, a source who craved for anonymity said:
“The game has changed and the Northern bloc in the APC appears to have drawn the line against the South-West bloc, hence the need for a fresh move for realignment ahead of the 2019 polls. “It’s nothing new.
The South-West leaders and some governors in the zone from the party are the ones at the forefront of the budding coalition. Don’t forget that South- West is always progressive in nature and this new alignment is aimed at two sets of people; the former allies of Tinubu like the Afenifere bloc and some willing members of the opposition parties, who are ready to key into the process.
“Several accords have been reached and by the time the new path is unveiled, many will be shocked. Two governors in the South-West are involved. In fact, one of them met with the Afenifere recently.”
Choosing to keep mute on whether the alignment would lead to the formation of new party, the source said: “When we get to the bridge, we will cross it, but I don’t think Tinubu’s meeting with Pa Ayo Adebanjo and other Afenifere leaders was on how to form a new party, but on the need to collapse all structures into one for the South-West to speak with one voice.
“We were used and dumped by the Northern bloc of the APC loyal to Mr. President, but we have decided to take the bull by the horn and damn the attendant consequences.
Interestingly, we have the deep sympathy of the people and that is a big factor in the game of politics.” Several meetings have been held between members of the various political divides in the zone.
Though their outcomes were not made public, they point towards the realignment move. Among such meetings were those between Osun State governor, Rauf Aregbesola and his Ekiti State counterpart, Ayodele Fayose.
The former is a loyalist of Tinubu, while the latter is a known critic of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. Some Afenifere leaders led by Adebanjo have also met with Tinubu.
New Telegraph also learnt of another meeting between some chieftains of the PDP and the Tinubu bloc for a possible alliance. A chieftain of the party in South-West, who confirmed the meeting, however, refused to give details.
The meeting is said to have held in London. A PDP source disclosed that some APC members in South-West, who feel marginalised in the party, want to pull out.
“The truth of the matter is that certain sections of PDP want to pull out and merge with some aggrieved members of APC. A meeting was held in London apart from several meetings here in Nigeria,” he said.
He added that the picture of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Governors Aregbesola and Fayose at the airport, which appeared in most national papers last week, was not by accident.
The source recalled that Fayose and Aregbesola have been exchanging visits for some time, adding “but let’s see what this turns out to.” It was further gathered that the Ahmed Makarfiled faction of the PDP had been ready for the alliance months back, but for some leaders of the party who would not want the name of the party to be changed.
“They are against the formation of an entirely new party. They are also saying that leaving the PDP now is not the best option,” the source stated. He said the decision arose following the consistent frustration in resolving the PDP leadership crisis, which started last May. “We know all along that there is external influence in what is happening in our party.
Sheriff is work-ing for the APC to destroy PDP. They are the ones sponsoring him. That is why some people want the formation of a new party. But there are others, who are not in support. That is where we are now,” he added.
While the various camps have maintained sealed lips on the matter, an insider source told our correspondent that “Tinubu’s bloc is presently receiving overtures from some gladiators in the South-East comprising PDP and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) chieftains.
This is aside some politicians, who are believed to be out-of-touch in matters concerning the party.” Speaking on the development, the Lagos State chairman of the APC, Otunba Henry Ajomale, told New Telegraph that there was nothing wrong in Tinubu’s bloc aligning with other forces for the progress of the South- West. His words:
“There is no reason why we cannot have realignment of forces to become one and be like we used to be during the Action Group (AG) and the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) days.
“I don’t see anything bad in Tinubu seeing Papa Adebanjo, the late Olaniwun Ajayi and other Afenifere leaders and deciding at this time that enough is enough and that they must unite and come together like they were during the Unity Party of Nigeria and Alliance for Democracy (AD) days.”
Adebanjo, who confirmed the moves, also told New Telegraph that there is nothing wrong in Afenifere aligning with the Tinubu’s bloc ahead of the 2019 polls.
“Why not?” he retorted, adding, however, that, “It is not a question of working together; it is about those of them who walked away from those who put them in office for reasons best known to them.
They should think whether they have got the right thing where they went to or not. If they have hit the wall there, the common sense is for them to go back to where they left and we will welcome them. “In Yorubaland, no elderly man will send his bad son to the lion to be killed.
Tinubu has proved to be a disobedient boy; very stubborn. He has seen it now; then we say, he has behaved badly, but we won’t say because he has behaved badly, we will push him to the lion to be destroyed.”
But, former Minister of Transport and member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the PDP, Chief Ebenezer Babatope, played down the alignment plot
. “Let those behind the third force come out and announce a party. Political party is not easy to form.I am talking as an organisation man. Even if you have all the rich men of this world, it is not easy to run a political party.
So, we want to see how they want to do it to make themselves an effective third force. But as far as I am concerned, it is too late for me to start jumping ship,” he said. https://newtelegraphonline.com/2019-swest-leaders-apc-chieftains-realign-forces/

Politics › Presidency Raises Alarm Over Imminent Famine In 2017.. by BeeBeeOoh(op): 7:23pm On Nov 14, 2016 |
The Presidency on Monday raised the alarm over imminent famine in Nigeria from January 2017.
According to a statement made available to journalists, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, raised the alarm in an interview he granted a Kano-based radio station on Monday.
Shehu said despite being Africa’s largest producer of cereals and grains, Nigeria risks famine from early next year following a huge demand in the global market that is targeting the country’s surplus production.
“The huge demand for our grains in the global market is creating an excellent environment for the mindless export of Nigerian grains across our borders and unless this is curtailed, Nigerian markets will be bereft of food by January next year,” he said.
The presidential spokesman said the Ministry of Agriculture has advised President Muhammadu Buhari on the need to draw the attention of all Nigerians to the issue which, if not addressed promptly, could lead to a shortage of grains by January.
“Over the past year, providence has blessed Nigeria with a bountiful harvest of grains, more than enough to feed the country and to export to other countries.
“At present, there is a high demand for grains from Nigeria, from African countries as distant as Libya and Algeria, and from places as far away as Brazil.
“However, the Ministry of Agriculture has raised concerns about a massive rate of exportation, which could lead to a shortage of grains in Nigeria by January,” he said. .
He explained that Nigeria currently enjoys a free market situation. http://punchng.com/presidency-raises-alarm-imminent-famine/ |

Literature › Why I'm Leaving USA - Soyinka by BeeBeeOoh(op): 7:58pm On Nov 12, 2016 |
The US based Nigerian professor, Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka has reaffirmed his decision to exit the United States of America following the election of the Republican candidate, Donald Trump in the recently concluded presidential elections in the United States of America.
Soyinka however did not disclose when he intends to quit America but stated that his decision was informed out of fear for what may likely happen to minority Americans should Donald Trump decides to live by the sentiments he harboured during his campaign period.
In his recent article, Soyinka envisaged Trump’s America as non-conducive for minority migrants and therefore opted to leave on temperamental grounds.
‘’The answers to all the foregoing can be summed up in a familiar expression: a life of environmental sanitation, or call it – sanity.
‘’My temperament requires a certain minimum level of environmental health to function properly. I use the word ’temperament’ as a historical fact, a personality development that first manifested itself all the way back to student days, and has remained consistent all my life’’ he said.
According to him ‘’I was in New York during the run-up to elections. I watched this face, its body language, listened to his uncouth, racist language, his imbecillic harangues, the insults to other peoples, other races, especially the Hispanics, Africans and Afro-Americans, even citing once – I was told – Nigeria as an instance of the burdensome occupation of global space.
‘’I watched and listened, disbelievingly, since this was America, supposedly now freed to a large extent – as we like to believe and have a right to expect – from its lamentable history of racism.
He however said that his major concern was not only with the president-elect but his teaming followers‘
’But I saw, not only this would-be president but – enthusing followers on populist a populist roll at the expense of minorities’’ he said. http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/general/why-i-m-leaving-usa-soyinka/171390.htmlLalasticlala, Mynd44 11 Likes 3 Shares
