Politics › Fuel Scarcity: DPR Warns Marketers Against Diversion.. by BeeBeeOoh(op): 1:45pm On May 09, 2016 |
The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) on Monday warned major and independent fuel marketers to refrain from diverting petroleum products to neighbouring countries. Mr Bassey Nkanga, the DPR Operation Controller in charge of Akwa Ibom and Cross River, gave the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Calabar.
“We will not hesitate to seal any filling station that diverts its product to neighbouring countries. “Just two weeks ago, we sealed the NNPC filling station in Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River for fuel diversion. “Petroleum products meant for the station was allegedly being diverted to Cameroon before it was intercepted by our men. “The truck was conveying 40,000 litres of fuel and heading to Bakassi Local Government Area from where it would be taken to Cameroon through the Ikang border,’’ Nkanga said.
He said further that the filling station would remain sealed for 90 days until its management paid the fine of N200 per litre for the 40,000 litres involved. According to the DPR controller, the fuel scarcity that was witnessed a few weeks ago across the country was caused partly by fuel diversion to other countries. “Now that there is a massive improvement in fuel supply to all depots across the country, I wish to issue a warning to fuel marketers to desist from diverting the products to other countries,’’ he said.
Nkanga said the department had since set up a surveillance team to monitor all petroleum products being lifted from the Calabar depot to various filling stations in Akwa Ibom and Cross River. He urged marketers to complement government’s efforts by making the products available in all filling stations across the country.
The controller added that he would continue to canvass for more fuel supply to Akwa Ibom and Cross River. : http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/05/fuel-scarcity-dpr-warns-marketers-diversion/

ademoladeji: That's between him and myself. Beebee0oh is a very good friend and a loving family here. I think I understand him to some extent and I don't think my comment is out of context if you took time to read his responses to my comments.
We all have areas where our loyalty is inclined towards. There's zero sentiment in the discourse but only trying to balance out our reasoning and belief You ain't outta context bro, but all we need is for Buhari to live up to expectations dazzol. Peace be unto that man wey love Melon's |
Politics › Re: Niger-Delta Avengers: FG Deploys Team To Uncover Those Behind Pipeline Bombings by BeeBeeOoh(m): 7:29am On May 09, 2016 |
ademoladeji: Egbon, I share your sentiment for real but I'd like to state that right from inception, there are some folks whose determination is never to see anything good about this government of Buhari.
I'm in no way advocating for any support whatsoever for him but only imploring on constructive criticism.
On issue of the Fulanis, I'd always known them to be good n loving people. I've lived amongst them in Abuja, Taraba, Katsina and Gombe.... To some extent, I can tell that they are not as bad as we paint/picture them. I just think there are some machineries disguising under the canopy of Herdsmen carrying out these dreadful attacks on innocent and harmless Nigerians.
Beebee0oh, my take on this is tha the government should publicly condemn these attacks and restrict the movement of herdsmen in time n space. Employ and deploy security agencies to take guard of towns and hamlets, provide 24hrs aerial surveillance to monitor not just movement of herdsmen but people at large so as to curb/reduce crime rate in the society.
Let's embrace unity and hopefully, Nigeria will be greater than our expectations. You are right bro, but it's taking Buhari ages to condemn the killings & maiming from herdsmen? “Let's embrace unity and hopefully, Nigeria will be greater than our expectations” We really hope, but Buhari's utterances, actions & inactions leaves our hope severely chartered. We Are Watching. #shalom |

According to Buhari: IPOB, Shiite's & NDA are rascals that needs brutal & lethal force, but Fulani Herdsmen are SACRED. FG deals with NDA's, IPOB's & Shiite's openly but, when it comes to Fulani herdsmen, FG chose to deal with them secretly. Isn't that HYPOCRICY at it's peak??
LAST BULLET: People might be thinking that IPOB will be the cause of Nigeria's disintegration, but reverse is the case. Fulani Herdsmen will champion it.. |

ademoladeji: Bros, you and this your Anti-Buhari campaign...
Take am easy bro remember his inaugural speech quote, I Am For Everybody; I Am For Nobody?? But, today he has made people to understand that there people that are 1st class citizens & third class citizens since he assumed power. IPOB's, Shiite's, NDA's are rascals that needs brutal & lethal force according to Buhari but, Fulani herdsmen are SACRED. Do we talk about the 97% & 5% quote by Buhari? Nobody is more Nigerian than the other. Please my oga, I AM NOT ANTI-BUHARI |
