Politics › We're In Final Phase Of Fight Against Boko Haram - Buhari by BeeBeeOoh(op): 8:41pm On Dec 23, 2021
President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday in Maiduguri, Borno State, urged troops of Operation Hadin Kai to remain steadfast as they go into the final phase of the campaign against insurgency and other forms of criminalities.

The president, who addressed the troops at the Airforce Base in Maiduguri, said the entire nation remains grateful for the gallantry displayed in ensuring gradual return of peace to the North East, while condoling with families that have lost loved ones, and the wounded.

“I urge you also to stay focused to achieve our strategic end-state which is the defeat of all adversaries and restoration of an economically viable North East Geo-political Zone and other parts of the Country where Nigerians are free to go about their activities without fear or harassment,” he said.

President Buhari assured families of soldiers who paid the supreme price for the nation and the injured that the Federal Government will cater for their needs, recognizing their sacrifices for all Nigerians.

“I am delighted to be with you today and to convey my gratitude and that of the entire nation to you all, as you continuously strive to secure our dear country.

“Your career is like no other because it is a conscious commitment and preparedness to give your best for the sake of others.

“I am therefore here on behalf of a grateful nation to thank and commend you for your service and sacrifices.

“Let me start by commiserating with you all on the unfortunate loss of Brigadier General Dzarma Zirkushu and other personnel of 25 and 28 Task Force Brigades, who died on 13 November 2021.

“I do this mindful of the fact that we have lost others in this Theatre of Operation as well as other operational areas across the country.

“We pray for the repose of their souls and for the Almighty God to comfort the families that they left behind. The people of Borno State and indeed the entire country owe a debt of gratitude to our serving men in uniform for the huge sacrifices in the pursuit of peace,” he said.

According to President Buhari, the government would continue to ensure that the widows and children of fallen heroes were well catered for, to help them fully realize their potentials.

The president noted that the response exhibited across the theatre had shown extraordinary resilience and steadfastness in the face of adversity.

“That is the spirit, tenacity and resolve that the Nigerian Armed Forces is known for. Well done.

“Our country, just like all the others in the Sahel region, is faced with several security challenges that are largely characterized by the violent activities of non-state actors. This has necessitated several interventions aimed at ensuring the security of persons and property across the numerous hot spots.

“Further improvements in the security situation in Operation Hadin Kai have led to a corresponding rise in the confidence of our people who are now returning in significant numbers to their homes.

“Further to the reorganizations in the military leadership, concerted efforts are being made to improve your equipment holding. I am aware that you have started receiving some of the platforms procured by our administration while others would be received in the weeks ahead,” the President added.

While noting threats posed by criminals through the employment of Improvised Explosive Devices, he said substantial resources have also been directed at procuring equipment for explosive ordnance disposal.

According to President Buhari, similar attention is being given to Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance Assets.

“These measures and the platforms being received would accord you the necessary reach, fire power and protection to project force across the Theatre and bring the fight to a logical and successful end.”

President Buhari told the troops that at the onset of the administration he emphasized the need to rejuvenate the Multinational Joint Task Force, which was in realization of the fluid and transnational nature of current threats and their propensity to hibernate in neighbouring countries.

“I therefore urge you to continue to further strengthen your cooperation with the militaries of the other countries under the auspices of the Multinational Joint Task Force in order to further optimize the mutual gains for our respective national security.

“As we step up the military efforts, our administration has remained conscious of the efficacy of the employments of other lines of effort in our drive to ensuring the return of lasting peace to the North East Region.

“The North East Development Commission continues to make giant strides at improving the economic and social welfare of Nigerians in the region.

“I am also happy with the increased level of cooperation between the good people of Borno State, other stakeholders and the security agencies. I urge you to continue to cooperate with other security agencies with a view to ensuring a full return to normalcy.”

He assured that the administration would continue to work with all well-meaning stakeholders including friendly nations, civil society organizations as well as other credible non-governmental organizations to bring peace to all troubled areas across the nation.

President Buhari expressed deep appreciation to the Government of Borno State for its continuous cooperation with the Federal Government in multiple spheres.

Adding, “This has been critical to the furtherance of our mutual efforts at restoring peace to the State.

“I particularly commend Your Excellency, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, for your untiring commitment and cherished collaboration with my administration for the overall good of the people of Borno. Yours is a good example of the inherent benefits that are accruable from conscious positive interaction between the Federal Government and states.”

He also commended the Minister of Defence as well as the Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs and the heads of all other security agencies for forging a common front of collaboration and cooperation which continues to enhance operations.

“It was gratifying to observe some of these examples of collaboration during the Research and Development Exhibition at the recently concluded Chief of Army Staff’s Annual Conference and the launch of locally constructed Seaward Defence Ship at the Naval Dockyard.

“I urge you all to stay the course towards ensuring that we become self-sufficient in the production of our defence equipment in no distant future.

‘To my dear troops, as your Commander in Chief, I am mindful of your selfless sacrifices which in some cases have entailed paying the supreme price. The nation owes you a debt of gratitude for your commitment, dedication and unalloyed loyalty to the Constitution of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

“Our Government will continue to work with your respective heads to ensure that your welfare receives priority attention and that our wounded comrades are given the best medical care possible,” the President assured.

The President said the manpower challenges which have limited the rotation of some units from the Theatre would be addressed by concerted efforts to increase recruitment and ensure that the remaining units due for rotation were relieved as soon as practicable.

Politics › Electoral Bill: NASS Must Act Without Delay, Veto Buhari's Decision - Saraki by BeeBeeOoh(op): 11:12pm On Dec 22, 2021
Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has urged the National Assembly to act fast and sign the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill into law.

Saraki urged the National Assembly to either remove the contentious part of the bill or veto Buhari’s decision.

In a statement he signed, the former Senate President said Nigerians need a new electoral law that would ensure a credible election in the country.

According to Saraki: “Now that Mr. President has conveyed his decision to decline assent to the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill, I am sure that I speak on behalf of millions of Nigerians in urging the National Assembly to act fast.

“At this point, two options are open to the National Assembly. They either veto the president’s decline of assent or remove the contentious provision on direct primaries and send it back to the president for his assent.

“Whichever option, our legislators choose, can be accomplished in the shortest possible time. We could have a new electoral law in January 2022.

“Anyone that has been following the mood of the nation knows that Nigerians desire to have a new electoral law that will lead to having a credible, free, fair, and peaceful process of electing our leaders.”

Saraki stressed that Nigerians are yearning for a system that will ensure that their votes count in deciding their leaders.

“Our legislators in both chambers of the National Assembly and Mr. President must ensure that it becomes a law without delay,” he added.

Health › FG Destroys Over 1 Million Expired AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccines by BeeBeeOoh(op): 9:01pm On Dec 22, 2021
The National Primary Healthcare Development Agency ( NPHCDA) in collaboration with the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), on Wednesday destroyed 1, 066, 214 expired AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines.

Speaking during the exercise at the Gosa Dumpsite in Abuja, Executive Director, NPHCDA, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, said the destroyed vaccines were withdrawn before their expiration date.

He said the exercise demonstrates the standards within which the vaccination programme operates in the country.

He said, “The work that we do requires trust. It is a sacred duty that is bestowed on us by the generality of Nigerians. We guide that trust very jealously. That is why we are destroying these vaccines that have expired today.”

Shuaib said the country was aware that the vaccines had short shelf life when they were donated but accepted them because of the unavailability of vaccines, and the need to protect Nigerians from COVID-19.

He said health workers in the country worked round the clock to ensure that most of the vaccines were administered before they expired.

He said, “ A few months ago, when they vaccines were offered to us , we knew they had a short shelf life but we live in an environment where the supply of COVID-19 vaccines were very scarce due to vaccine nationalism.

“There were developed countries that procured these vaccines and hoarded them in their stores , and at the point that they were about to expire, they were offered for donation.

“While we appreciate the donation from these countries, we have to acknowledge the fact that they were almost expired vaccines. But because we wanted to satisfy and protect Nigerians, we accepted to them , we worked in collaboration with NAFDAC to test and ensure that the vaccines were in good condition and then we rolled them out under difficult circumstances.

“We ensured that our health workers worked round the clock under extreme situations to make sure that Nigerians are vaccinated.”

He said so far, over 10 million Nigerians have been vaccinated with short shelf live vaccines.

“If we were to wait until much later when vaccines would be widely available, maybe we wouldn’t have gotten any Nigerian vaccinated by now,” he added.

The NPHCDA boss said the country has been able to save over $40 million worth of resources that could be ploughed into other areas of the health sector.

While assuring Nigerians that the vaccines are effective and safe, he said the agency would continue to vaccinate until 70 percent of the country’s eligible population, achieve herd immunity.

The Director General of NAFDAC, Prof. Moji Adeyeye, said short shelf-life vaccines pose a challenge to the country, adding that however, “ because of the love of country, the agencies decided to work with the short time span.”

She said the destroyed vaccines were manufactured about seven to eight months ago.

“When products expire, we don’t give them to people especially vaccines that can interact with the cell , and work at the cellular level.”

The NAFDAG DG added that local manufacturing of vaccines would help tackle vaccine unavailability in the country.

Politics › Anambra APC Washes Hands Off Andy Uba's Plan To Appeal Court Ruling by BeeBeeOoh(op):
The Anambra State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has washed its hands off plan by its candidate in the November election, Senator Andy Uba, to appeal the ruling that voided his candidacy.

A High Court in Abuja presided over by Hon. Justice Inyang Ekwo, had on Monday voided Uba’s candidacy, insisting that the primary election that produced him was not valid.

A press release by the State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Okelo Madukaife, stated that the party was not a party to such appeal.

Madukaife said: “Our great party is compelled to distance itself from willful foray into avoidable contempt of the court by official impersonators who are supposed to be learned men but are led by the nose by a pretender candidate.

“We state for the avoidance of doubt that the APC has not issued any statement against the considered judgment of Federal High Court 6, Abuja, presided over by Hon. Justice Inyang Ekwo.

While we grant anyone affected by the judgment the right to notify the public of his, her or their intention to appeal, it should be sufficient for such intention to be registered by the individual or his private assign.”

The statement further accused one Mr. Chukwunonso Chinwuba, of impersonation while dissociating the party from a press statement Chinwuba, in which he had said that the party in Anambra was unhappy about the high court ruling.

“Our great party regrets that we are at the unfortunate point where our party can be stripped of candidature by a court of competent jurisdiction, confirming what we have always known for a fact.

“However, sad this may be to us, and however depressing it must be to our mood and image, we are mindful that managing this adversity well will lead to a strong and democratic Anambra APC of the future.”

Politics › El-Rufai: Boko Haram, IPOB, Bandits Are In The Same Category by BeeBeeOoh(op): 9:20pm On Dec 21, 2021
he Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, has said that the term “repentant bandits” is a misnomer and does not exist.

This is as he said that the goal of the Kaduna State Government is to kill bandits wherever they are found.

The governor disclosed this to State House Correspondents on Tuesday shortly after meeting with the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

El-Rufai, who was in the Villa to brief the President on Sunday’s attack on Kauran Fawa, Marke and Ruhiya of Idasu Ward of Giwa Local Government Area, Kaduna State, which left at least 40 people dead, was accompanied by the State’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan.

He said, “There is nothing like repentant terrorists. The only repentant bandit is the one that is dead. Our intention in the state is to kill them (terrorists), let them go and see God.

“If you want to call them terrorists, you can call them terrorists. But we don’t want them to be confused with the terrorists that we know: the Boko Haram and IPOB which have been declared terrorists.

“We don’t call them terrorists, we call them IPOB. Okay, so this is it. The nomenclature doesn’t matter. What matters is they is now a fair game for the armed forces.

“What I’m saying is, we call them bandits to differentiate them from the rest but they are terrorists. You can choose any name you want to give them but as a government, I have to call them by a name that everyone understands. They have been declared terrorists, but they have to have a name that everyone can understand and not confuse them with Boko Haram.”

He added that the locations of the bandits is not a mystery but that the military is only toeing the line of caution because of potential collateral damage an all-out raid could pose to innocent civilians.

According to him, terrorists are of three types; Boko Haram insurgents, bandits, and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra.

He said the recent declaration of bandits as terrorists has given the military more impetus to engage them in real warfare.

While calling on security agencies to be more aggressive towards terrorists, the former FCT minister also sought the intervention of the president for the deployment of more security personnel to the troubled region.

Christianity Etc › COVID-19 Not Politically Motivated - Kumuyi Tells Nigerians by BeeBeeOoh(op): 9:07pm On Dec 21, 2021
· Explains how Christ foretold outbreak globally

· Assures Nigerians of divine answer to pandemic

The General Superintendent, Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM), Pastor William Kumuyi Tuesday said COVID-19 was not politically motivated, noting that the pandemic is real.

Kumuyi noted that COVID-19, which had as of Monday claimed 5.36 million lives and infected 275 million worldwide according to the World Health Organisation (WHO), was not surprising, saying Christ foretold global outbreak of pestilence in the bible towards end time.

He made these remarks at a news conference he addressed at the Deeper Life International Conference Centre, Km 42, Lagos-Ibadan expressway to mark the flag-off of the church’s six-day global crusade under a theme, “The Great Miracle Explosion.”

He addressed the conference alongside his wife, Mrs Esther Kumuyi; Lagos Coordinator, Deeper Life Bible Church (DLBC), Pastor John Akinwande; Secretary of the church, Pastor Samuel Afuwape; Group Pastor, Oshodi DLBC, Pastor Segun Babatope and Group Pastor, Idimu-Isheri DLBC, Pastor Johnson Ajibade, among others.

Addressing the news conference, Kumuyi explained that from his observation, COVID-19, a pestilence foretold in the Bible, was real contrary to speculation in some quarters, including some religious organisations.

He said: “From my observation, COVID is real. It is not a politically arranged pandemic as speculated by some people. In Nigeria and other countries worldwide, we have people that are infected and are in isolation.”

The general superintendent cited different cases of his church members, who were infected with the virus and how the power of God delivered after prayers of faith while on the verge of death.

He explained how one of the church’s pastors was infected with COVID-19, noting that the pastor was transferred to an isolation centre in Lagos and indeed on the verge of passing out when he received the news.

He said: “I got to know about it. I prayed for him on the phone with him. Within one hour, the pastor was healed. In the United States, we had a family of six, who were equally infected. But after prayer of faith, God healed them all.”

The general superintendent added that in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), one of the church’s pastors had COVID-19 and was delivered also after prayer of faith.

Even though COVID-19 is real, according to Kumuyi, God has a solution to every problem. God has promised never to leave or forsake His children in the time of trial.

He explained that COVID-19 “is not a surprising thing to those who knew their Bible very well, as the Lord Jesus had foretold that there would be pestilence (pandemic) in the last days.”

Speaking about the crusade, Kumuyi said it was aimed at addressing national and personal problems, as the Lord would free those with COVID-19 and other human challenges.

The general superintendent noted that people should expect God’s mighty visitation and special things at the crusade.

“We thank God we are here for something great and special. We have been having this Global Crusade and it has touched all globally. Many people have been blessed across the globe. We have been to Abuja, Enugu, Rivers and Akwa Ibom. There has been joy everywhere.

“We are now in Lagos. It is a great miracle explosion. When we put all that has been happening this year together, we are going to have great explosions. People will be blessed. People will say this is a great thing that has happened in their lives,” he said.

He explained how the crusade would impact the nation, noting that when the lives of individuals were touched, that would definitely impact on the nation.

He cited the example of Jonah in the Bible who declared God’s message to the people of Nineveh and how the people in authority heard the message and took a national decision that saved the land.

The general superintendent noted that when the nation’s decision makers allowed the message to get to them and act on it, he believed that things would turn around.

He added that the crusade would be streamed live across world through various social media platforms – FaceBook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and other social media handles that are not popular in Africa.

Politics › Electoral Bill: Buhari Should Be Commended For His Courage - Fayemi by BeeBeeOoh(op): 8:36pm On Dec 21, 2021
Governors have commended President Muhammadu Buhari for withholding assent to the Electoral Act Amendment Bill.

The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, who spoke on behalf of his counterparts, said governors are not fixated on any mode of primary election to choose candidates of political parties.

He said this while responding to questions from State House reporters after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday.

Fayemi, who met the President on behalf of his colleagues, said direct primary, indirect primary, and consensus as different modes of producing candidates for major elections have their peculiar challenges.

He dismissed the notion that direct primary has solutions to all the challenges affecting the electoral process in the country.

The governor said “the courage of Mr President” to stand with the people should be commended, stressing that Buhari had “only said be fair to all, let all options apply and what you decide should be determined by your own local and peculiar circumstances.”

He said the governors’ interest and concern was that opportunities should be given for an inclusive process.

Daily Trust reports that the National Assembly had recently passed the amended Electoral Act and transmitted to the President for assent.

But the president had declined assent to the bill, citing the issue of direct primaries and electronic transmission of election results by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as reason.

Asked whether the governors were happy about the development, Fayemi said: “I don’t know what you mean by governors being happy. At least as the governor who has gone through a series of elections, my election to office during my first term was via a direct primary that took place in all the 177 wards in my state. And my election to my second term in office was via an indirect primary. So, I’ve tested both. And I can tell you that it really doesn’t matter to any governor whether you have primaries via direct mode or an indirect mode.

“What is governors’ interest and concern is that opportunities are given for an inclusive process. And I think that is what Mr. President’s letter has brought out. Mr. President has not objected to direct primaries, neither has he endorsed indirect primaries, he has only said, be fair to all, let all options apply and what you decide should be determined by your own local and peculiar circumstances, being mindful of questions of security, finances, and internal democracy.

“So, I think we all should commend the courage of Mr President to stand with the people. And the President, you know, just like me, is not afraid of whatever mode you decide to use. When I chaired the primaries, the historic primaries that brought him in as a presidential candidate, I was the chair of that primaries in 2014. It was an indirect primary.

“But in 2019, when he was coming back, he came back via a direct primary. So, Mr. President has also tested both. And I don’t think it’s somebody to be lectured about the pros and cons of either processes. What is important is to ensure that whatever process you choose in your particular circumstance, still provides a process that is as free as possible. It’s not completely free process, but at least there is something that is called substantial compliance in electoral law. And if it meets substantial compliance.

“I think all of us should be happy with that. We shouldn’t really dwell too much on. There’s been this exaggerated expectation that direct primaries is going to provide all answers to whatever electoral challenges that we have faced. And we all know that that is false. Direct primary has its own challenges. Indirect primaries have its own challenges. A consensus approach is also not without challenges, but options should be provided. And whether governors are happy or not, it’s really immaterial to governors whether it’s direct or indirect.”

Fayemi, while speaking on the forthcoming governorship election in his state, said he was only interested in a free, inclusive and fair process as the father of all.

Politics › You Lack Capacity To Buhari - Wike Tells NASS, Reveals APC's Plans by BeeBeeOoh(op): 9:31pm On Dec 20, 2021
The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has lambasted the national assembly, saying that the current lawmakers lack the courage to veto President Muhammadu Buhari into signing the Electoral Act Amendment Bill.

Wike claimed that this has been the All Progressives Congress (APC) scheme all this while to deny Nigerians free, fair and transparent elections in 2023.

Wike said that the only way for the masses not to repeat the events of 2015 and 2019 was simply vote out the APC.

The governor spoke in Etche Local Government Area on Monday while flagging-off of Chokocho-Igbodo Road.

Wike was accompanied by the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.

The Governor said he had already alerted Nigerians that President Buhari would not sign the Electoral Act amendment bill into law.

“Three weeks ago I told Nigerians that there is a conspiracy not to have a free, fair, transparent election in 2023 and that conspiracy was very clear. And I told Nigerians, Mr President will not sign the Electoral Act amendment bill,” he said.

“What APC resolved in the meeting they had was that their problem is not necessarily direct primaries, but the electronic transmission of results in 2023. If they allow that, obviously APC will lose the election in 2023 and they told themselves that the only way we can survive that is to include the direct primaries in the bill so that Mr President can use that as an excuse, that he will not sign the bill.

“Unfortunately, you don’t have a National Assembly that has what it takes, that will stand for the people, that will say look we were elected by the people and we want to give the people the best. Nobody in the National Assembly, not even the leadership can have what it takes to say “Mr President, for the interest of Nigerians we are going to veto this your refusal,’” he said.

But waitooo, what exactly have Buhari achieved?
1. Making cow Nigeria's number one citizen.

2. Classifying Nigerians into two: 5%ters and 95%ters.

3. Calling one section of the country dot in a circle.

4. Pardoning, rehabilitating and reintegrating BHT's back into the society.

5. Making life unbearable for Nigeria and Nigerians.

6. Soaking the blood of Nigerians in the sand.

7. Destroying that little peace and bond holding Nigerians together before he came to power.

8. Elevating Fulani's supremacy.

9. Borrowing from countries like Zimbabwe, Malawi, Uganda, Lesotho etc
Politics › Lai: Desperate Opposition Politicians Out To Run Down Buhari's Achievements by BeeBeeOoh(op): 8:52am On Dec 20, 2021
Information and Culture Minister, Lai Mohammed, yesterday claimed naysayers, sponsored attackers and desperate opposition politicians are out to run down the President Muhammadu Buhari’s unprecedented achievements.

He said President Buhari has kept Nigeria afloat amidst myriad of challenges buffeting the country and added that he has also set the country on a trajectory of growth and development.

The minister stated this in Ilorin, Kwara State, in commemoration of President Buhari’s 79th birthday anniversary.

“President Buhari is a steady hand in troubled times, and that explains why, presiding over the affairs of the country at a most turbulent period, he has managed to keep the nation afloat, and even set it on a trajectory of growth and development.

“Despite a myriad of security challenges, and amidst dwindling national earnings and a crippling global pandemic, he has racked up a number of achievements, most of them unprecedented.

“Like I said recently, his achievements may not seem too obvious now, especially with naysayers, sponsored attackers and desperate opposition politicians unrelenting in their craft, but posterity will surely be kind to this man, whose life has meant service to his fatherland, a man who goes to bed at night and wakes up in the morning thinking Nigeria.

“He fought a war to keep Nigeria together, and that explains his passion for the country’s unity.

“It is said everything happens for a reason. That Buhari is in charge of Nigeria at this time is not mere happenstance. His years in the military that saw him reaching the peak of his career; his various positions within and outside the military, his global exposure, his unmatched demeanour and, above all, his wisdom have all helped to stabilise Nigeria at the most difficult of times.”

Reeling out the administration's achievements, Mohammed said the Buhari’s administration had “leapfrogged Nigeria to the modern rail era; set the nation on the path of unprecedented infrastructure development; built the Second Niger Bridge that his predecessors only built on paper; gave Nigeria its first modern airport terminals in decades; provided social safety net for the poor and introduced school feeding system that has helped push up school enrolment.

Others, according to the minister, include institutionalisation of measures to fight corruption through strict implementation of TSA and the introduction of the whistle blower policy, among others.

He said the administration had “restored our country’s respect and dignity in the comity of nations, as you can see in the recent quick reversals of flight bans by the UK and Canada and the quick decision by the UAE to reverse itself on the number of slots given to a Nigerian airline; upgraded military hardwares for our armed services and restored the respect of our gallant military. I believe God has a reason for keeping him alive when many had written him off as dead.”

Politics › Lawan: We'll Support Buhari To Fulfill Campaign Promises by BeeBeeOoh(op): 12:02am On Dec 20, 2021
Nigeria’s Senate President, Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan said the upper legislative chamber would support President Muhammadu Buhari to fulfil campaign promises to Nigerians.

Lawan made the remark in Gombe at the launch of the empowerment programme of Senator Sa’idu Ahmed Alkali for his constituents.

Alkali, an All Progressive Congress(APC) Senator, is representing Gombe North Senatorial District in the Senate.

The Senate President said Buhari had never rested for a second in his determination to turn around the fortune of the country.

“President Muhammadu Buhari who is the leader of this party (APC) in this country, who has given us great leadership from 2015 to date, who has shown great desire to turn around the fortune of this country, has never rested for a second.

“He is doing his best even though we are still not out of the woods but we have done so much between 2015 and 2021.

“By the Grace of God, the National Assembly will continue to support Mr President to ensure that he delivers on our campaign promises to Nigerians,” Lawan said.

The Senate President commended the Governor of Gombe State, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, who is also an APC member for the significant transformation brought to the state.

He showered encomium on Alkali for providing quality representation for his people at the National Assembly.

The Senate President urged the Gombe people to consider giving both the Governor and the Senator another chance to continue with the good work.

In the company of the Senate President from Abuja were Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, Senator Bello Mandiya, Senator Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf and Senator Kabir Abdullahi Barkiya.
