Honestly, am i the only one that feels the weeks are just crawling? ah, lyk 24 days ago, i was 27 weeks, 13 days later am just 28 weeks.. Walai, i cant wait to offload n see my lo, na to sidon dey look now.

The hunger dese days no be for hia o but surprisingly tho am on d big side but i have only gained lyk 6kg since dis joiney strted. Backpain, heat and this enormous heavinesd down there, sha i thank God that lo is fyn n just hyperactive. Share ur experiences n ask questions were u wish.

@Beeblossom salbutamol is not a steroid. Its a bronchodilator which also has a tocolytic effect on d womb in order words stops d uterus frm contracting. ......since u were having preterm contr.
Its not unsafe for ur baby. Asthma mamas use it during deir pregnancy eith no side effects. Its also called ventolin.

Dont confuse it with prednisolone, steroid n has no use in preterm labour.
Dont confuse it with Dexamethasone, steroid which is given to achieve lung maturity incase d labour progresses to delivery. Ofcourse 1 or 2 injections of dis wont giv any side effects

Teamie it is well with u n ur lo, dnt knw about d medication but just pray n take whatever the doctors recommend and it shall go well with u. STOP googling, it will only bring down ur spirit more n discourage u. Imagine i just googled braxton hicks yestday morning n i opened one devilish site full of bad news concerning it, immediately preggy worry hormones set in n av been so depressed unnecessarily since yestday. Devil is a bastard.

Why not go back to your doctor and seek advise. NL is not the place to take advise regarding medication that could have very adverse consequencies. You have a doctor for that purpose. If you feel you need a 2nd opinion, go to another doctor or another hospital.

There is most likely a reason you were given.
Steriods are sometimes given to very early pre-term babies to allow some of their organs e.g lungs to develope faster to enhance their survivial before they are brought out via cs.

So take any advise other than your doctor's with some caution.

@beeblossoms, salbutamol is not a steroid. In this case it's a tocolytic meaning it relaxes the uterine muscles to prevent further contraction. Pls don't stop taking it until your doctor says so.

Pls take ur salbutamol as prescribed. the doctor knows why they prescribed it for u like that. ur case will be different from mine ijn. that was how I was forming googling the side effects of salbutamol when I had preterm contractions at 16weeks and I now "advised" myself not to take it and ended up losing that pregnancy. a lot of women hv taken it n still ended up with healthy babies.
if I may ask how long was it prescribed for?

Sabi mommas, abeg o, I had preterm labour on Tuesday and was placed on salbutamol and paracetamol since then., but reading online is making me see that salbutamol is a steroid and has bad side effects, does it make it unsafe for me and baby?
Also, if I am to stop it, would it be cold Turkey style of can I just stop abruptly? Please don't read and pass o

Hi everyone, its anoda beautiful month again o, how bumping nah? Sorry 4 d short silence, av bin really busy, we shud be in our 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th n maybe 26th week now, yeepeee! counting down to 3rd trimister now n i just cant wait 2 see n hold my lo.

So I had a scan n its a 'BOY'! ,according to dh "I tot as much!" wit a great sense of achievement dt d Radiologist had to wonder aloud if dia was a particular s**x equation he didnt knw about lol.

And OMG lo has bin at it, my tummy is now a mini playground wit all sorts of toys lyk my bladder, my intestines, my stomach n evn my jajaina, he just kicks at dem anyhow n anyway . Anytime my stomach rumbles or thunder bolts, he just goes on a kicking spree as if to say "what is that, i dnt get it" n I hv noticed dt he does a kinda happy dance at meal times n funny moves weneva am hungry, lol cant wait to see u my little prince, kisses. Pls share ur experiences mummies lets hv some fun. Those yet to update on edd n gender, mmm me am still waiting o.

Also lets strt shopping o, prices are getting higher every day n ds december may be hot 4 many late starters. Me av strted mine... do i need 2 add dat its sooo much fun? Especially wit dh catching d vibes n doing his own personal surprise shopping. Pls do strt urs.
