3strikes: @Beedam, I say make you no quote me o.... Me no dey lie o. If i tell you the way Nairalander dey entertain me ehn.....You want some laugh, just log on to Nairaland. A playing ground for the good, the bad and the ugly.
BTW why i no go enjoy am when light and internet dey 24hrs. but I laugh when the paako (hard wood) break tho and when i see 0.09 sec vid when someone just throw block from upstairs. I just ask my sef in Yoruba. Kilo ba de? This is actually a place to learn and laugh at the same time. My sister is tired of seeing me laugh so she decided to join Nairaland now now and Mr AZUH, Egunmogaji and brabus are people she has mentioned already. I had to explain the whole thing to her sef. |

EgunMogaji: #Shyster
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shyster
"Shyster /ˈʃaɪstər/ is a slang word for someone who acts in a disreputable, unethical, or unscrupulous way, especially in the practice of law, sometimes also politics or business."

The critical factor is that they're not on Nairaland because they too would have a sad tale to tell of midnight materials rustling, unpaid subcontractors, etc Who did this? |

n3xt: Water Problem | Another Brabus Fix
Sir lastpage, in 2013 Brabus was in Aloycious Odulukwe street in Ajao estate to work a fix on a very bad land. 99% of the structures in that terrain had one foundation issue or the other and either sinking or bent beyond repair.
I suggest anyone visit the area and see the best and the only surviving structure (though there might be new ones now) in the area.
I built it! We face the water issue head on and the house stood tall among equals.
The thread is alive. The building is more than 1m above road level. As we were dealing with the foundation, we were also going hand in hand with water exclusion strategy. The compound floors were not only pervious but were tiled.
And the result is what we have today!
@ Babalose, that's what needed to be done when building in challenging terrain. Face it head on.
A visit to the site and probably asking the client question of what he did differently might help. The builder might be blowing things out of proportion here. An elderly Nairalander (a diehard fan of Brabus ) was here during design and foundation stage of work can attest to this.
Take note of the perimeter drain in the last pic and the compound drain with covers.
The 2nd pics shows the cover of the septic tank where it was neatly buried by the entrance gate.
Brabus
_______ I'll share another one shortly. You all know about it. We weren't talking about the problem. if you did all the above before , what now happened in Qc1 house? I don't seem to understand! Try and meet with him so as to save the house from sinking further since you built the house. Biko! |

agarawu23: you see...
It might sound local to some people but its a good move for those that know the logic
Abokii don't sleep that much even after a stressful day and they don't steal. Even if they do, the % is not up to igbo and yoruba When I move in last month, I told a neighbour that I don't like as dem dey sleep for my balcony, she said that what people are looking for is what I want to throw away by myself. She told me they practically begged one to come to their own balcony ( there are 4 flats downstairs but two is facing front while two is facing back) and I should be grateful my flat is in the front which makes them prefer my own and the other person in front of the second building. Since then, I have been dancing Makossa oooo. They are far far better and the "vigil" part, dem be oga for talk talk for midnight. I'm planning on supplying them fruits this Ramadan sef. May God help me. Amen |

twinskenny: Security for free Na God do am for me o. I just moved in last month and it's always "over quiet" at night and I stay on the ground floor compared to the other part of Lagos where I came from where dem no dey go to bed till around 1-2 and you must to hear 1or 2 people moving up and down and I stayed on the second floor there. so I'm really enjoying the bonus that came with the house. |

agarawu23: All I need in my house is a bulletproof doors in the front entry and kitchen exit.
Even tho I don't like dogs, I will still buy one and make a small studio apartment for my unknown abokii security to sell his normal things they sell. Bring his homeless friends to sleep in my compound at night and go hustle the next morning. Try it I agree with you here. One aboki guards the compound I live and he brought like 6-7 others. 2 of them sleeps in my balcony and they go to work every morning in a nearby market and come home to sleep later in the day( they hardly sleep sef cos they sabi gossip well well). Anytime I hear them talking outside , I feel a bit relaxed. |

The only chewing gum that worked for me was orbit( deep blue colour) and I chew like 5 packets a day( that's 1k daily on gum cos I bought at N200). It was a terrible experience that is making me think 100times on how to go on another missionary journey. Just bear it . But I pray it stops soonest because it's just too much burden to bear. |

tatacherie: Good morning mamas, though d morning is not good at my end Pls mommies that live alone (DH working or doing a program elsewer ) how do u cope with baby, work chores et al Just finished moping n practically weeping right now(weak, exhausted & hungry )baby doesn't sleep more than 30 mins, shes 13 weeks.she cries a lot day n night, afar away neigbour that hears her cries at night had to suggest pap yestaday that it cud b d baby is hungry b.reast milk not enough...I can't remember wen last I ate good food except one of my close neighbour brings one.I can hardly cook cos of her,I'm drying up God help me,No one around to assist.dh kicked against house help( if only he can understand wat I'm passing tru) Abeg mamas help me with suggestions before I kpai Cc senior Beedam, Missmalachi Zaynie et others I can feel your pain. Staying alone with a crying baby is such a very energy consuming duty. I passed through that stage too just that my baby resumed creche early which made the DAY easier so I do all works and rest well before he comes home because I don't go to work everyday when I first resumed. As other mamas have advised, you have to learn to cook and do house chores once in a week. I was only my baby clothes every afternoon while I keep mine for a week. If you have a washing machine, it will be easier for you. Don't give pap because it's too early. I suggest you start with formula. My baby cries a lot too then before we discovered he is always hungry so I started supplementing with formula and from there I graduate to cereal when he reached 4 months. Pele dearie, it's a phase you will soon pass so please hang in there and remember you have to be strong for your baby. For the house help thing, I say NO to live-in help but you can get someone who will just come to wash, sweep, arrange probably once in a week. |
