Nigeria's Standard Gauge Railway Modernisation Projects

The railway modernisation initiative in Nigeria aims at replacing the existing narrow gauge system with the wider standard gauge system, while allowing high-speed train operations on the railway network.

The $8.3bn contract for the Lagos-Kano standard gauge modernisation project awarded to CCECC in 2006 marked the beginning of the initiative.

The project, however, couldn't be implemented due to funding problems. It was later re-scoped into different stand-alone segments and the existing 1,124km narrow gauge Lagos-Kano line was rehabilitated.

Abuja-Kaduna is the first segment to be implemented as part of Lagos-Kano standard gauge project.

I stay in Lekki axis and i'm on ground here, I love Jimi as a person, the reason I will not vote for him is because he didn't have experience in governance. It's personal because I personally believe Governor of Lagos is too big to be a testing ground. But that being said lots of people love him and want to vote for him, but I'm afraid the way and manner PDP thugs is making people change their mind.

The huge difference in level of education

Pensioners in the state are owed 4months salary and workers 3 months. School kids did not write last terms exam cos there was no fund released to the schools for running and to cap it all even new students now wear white mufty to school as uniforms are not available. And this is what we call change??
He has money to spray in campaigns yet so many lives affected without regular pay.
