Baliv254: This is why kenya is ranked ahead of nigeria in quality of roads mehn look at those rivers gulleys and lakes this could be a top tourist attraction
you're here dubbing 19th century images from nairaland tribal 'wars' and you really feel like you're doing a good job.
the first image alone gives it all away. that picture was probably taken in 2003.
Lagos is already ahead of Nairobi by most economic parameters. let's not dilly-dally.
by the way I was responding to the Mombasa-Ibadan comparison. you for sure should know (being an economist you say you are) the Ibadan economy is ahead of mombasa's so I won't waste time.
obaaderemi: British American Tobacco Ibadan. Where is Mombasa? No wonder they are jobless in Kenya. No factories! Only shops. A fvcking consumer society.
have you forgotten what a consumer economy translates to?
vankelvin: '''Ghanaian's also settles in Nigeria during their time of trouble''? So so rubbish..... Rubbish to the nonsense degree.. These are some of the things that I cannot keep quit over,
Is it my beloved ''Ghana'', OR there is another Ghana you are referring to? Which year was that? When? What trouble made Ghanaian's come all the way to Nigeria to seek refuge?
When you want to run your diarrhea mouth to East African's, make sure you know what you are talking about.. Even with the influx of your fellow nigerian's into Ghana, we are not terming it as ''time of trouble''..
Suffering and smiling, always trying to demean others to feel good, such a bitter tw*t... Confident liar
but mr man there a lot of Ghanaians in Nigeria. are you disputing?
this is by the side.....2 years back my friends business partner from Ghana visited Nigeria and she was more than surprised to see Nigerians drinking soda. she said it was not a common site in Ghana.
she was also very surprised to see a lot of cars in Nigeria. she said she hadn't seen that much cars in her life.
now young man, Ghana can be trying their best to develop which I admire but your country is still way backed comparative to Nigeria. this isn't another empty brag like you're used to on this thread.
also the Ghanaian cedi is stronger than the naira on paper only. you always bring that up (Ghanaians in general) which has always been an ignorant argument stance without most of you knowing. this Ghanaian dude tried to explain things out for you.
"on areas of conversion the cedi is stronger than the naira. Currently 67naira = Ghc 1. However the fact is that Ghc1 in Ghana cannot buy anything meaningful but 67 naira is a substantial amount in Nigeria than in Ghana. You can look at it this way - things are cheaper in Nigeria than Ghana."
we could get either bleach, soaps, biscuits, gums, seasonings, onions, noodles, some bread brands, face masks..blah blah....you get the picture.
you might be wondering where all this is coming from though ....well l truth is I just saw probably the dumbest tweet about Ghana Today.
in all àlàyé mí, Ghana is really doing well for itself but you're always thinking waaay too big much of yourselves. you're not IT fam. love to Ghana though .
Shma: it all started when I showed them their slumish capital city . they couldn't stand that ugliness. The only option left for them was to trace kibera pics .
it's not about that. this picture is over 20 years old. you've been told REPEATEDLY.
you started it all fam.
what you might not know is that this particularly thread has a VERY strong Google page web rank and if any images of Nigeria or Kenya are googled, you'll most certainly see all these images in the results.
Dlonra: Trust me, kenya is better. That's why refugees from Somalia, Sudan, Congo & Rwanda all settled in Kenya after their nations faced civil wars. It's also one of the most toured nation in Africa with the highest number of Multinational Companies Headquarters in Africa meaning it's very safe to settle & do business. An indicator of a functioning state.
well this is one of the reasons why I respect Nigerians any day.
do you know there could be up to 10 million migrants in Nigeria? the menial jobs industry in Nigeria has been almost completely taken over by Nigeriens, Benenoise , chadians, and cameroonians.
there are certainly thousands of Liberians, gambians and Senegalese in Nigeria too. all these guys are working.
Nigerians don't scream about inhabiting migrants and we certainly do not attack them for taking jobs too.
68816419: Is thr any things u wont find in your very dirty, dis organized, unplanned Gikomba market(where over 90% of ur population go for shopping)?, u can even find chines selling maize, KENYANS ARE INDEED The Most Delusional Africans
this is probably one of the worst delusions ever.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the Kenyans telling us most of their population buy fishes from retail outlets.
seanwilliam: population of yoruba in all south east no fit reach 50k self...
Bro, normally apart from transfer from work, an average yoruba cant think of going to east.. tbh, there is nothing in east that u will not find in southwest
it's the truth. the Yoruba's migrate outside Africa if there is a need to migrate.
you hardly find Yoruba's in south Africa, Ghana and all other african countries. I don't even want to start on how the igbos have tarnished Nigeria's image through international drug trafficking in almost all countries of the world. these are the same people that are quick to condemn the worthlessness of the Nigerian passport. I'm not disputing the obvious fact that other Nigerian tribes have their bad eggs too though.
all igbo's on this website and in Nigeria at large know for a fact that we don't migrate to their region.
winterfell007: I'm ashamed of you. It's folks like you that make people feel Igbo people are full of hate and envy. What is wrong with you? Why can't you let them enjoy their aerial views When we post aerial pictures of Onitsha, Owerri and Porthacourt, you all begin to type 'wonderful', 'amazing' and later start rebuking people from the southwest calling them 'brown roof'. Now they are showing you pictures of coming developments and planned areas, instead of appreciating, you are throwing tantrums and stupid remarks up and down
sadly that has become the hallmark of most igbos on This website.
it's just stupid at this point. I try not to be tribal in most instances but truth be told as long as these people aren't banned the other tribes would be forced to continue to hate them.
Bendeco2020: U suppose tell that to your Yoruba brothers that always make empty noise about the man when his powers are limited to southwest.
Some are even making noise in the other tread saying that he can impeach buhari..... If buhari and tinubu are to fight politically, can tinubu win buhari?... The only supporters he will have are in south west... even south south or south east can't support him.
Time have reach for you guys to start telling ursef the truth.
How can you say someone who produced the vice president has powers limited only to the South West? Nawa oo!
Yebosola: Tinubu this and that, is he a member of NWC or NEC, y this hullabaloo? Has he say anything? Y this wailing over someone that has never say a word, continue spinning your conspiracy theories
The funniest thing is we'll all be here when tinubu finally speaks.
Thelimitbreaker: Young man, learn to be well cultured at times,at least fake it if you ain't it.Learn to respond to opinions from a matured point of view.Let me school you a minute, Four platforms formed APC,Buhari's ANPP,Tinubu's ACN,some fragments of APGA led by Okorocha, and five nPDP Governors comprising of amaechi, saraki, wamakko and others.Although they all committed their inputs for his emergence but of all the south, only tinubu gave more states than anyone from Edo to Lagos. Amaechi that you are screaming about has lost his state to PDP. Buhari is only compensating him
Alaye you're wasting your time here arguing na... Fún àrà yín ní ífókónbàlé meehn.
Have you forgotten the NWC is largely made up of pro oshiomole members?
Have you forgotten giadom has just over three NWC members behind his back?
Have you forgotten this isn't the first time Yoruba's have been in a dilemma like this?
Have you also forgotten this isn't the first time on Nairaland anti APC elements have jumped the gun in jubilations only to be silenced later?
Bros....leave them to their jubilations na....see the way giadom has suddenly become their hero.
Chicent: I actually did got a call from a supposed access bank staff telling me that my account is carrying different date of birth with my BVN stating both but none was correct then he proceeded to ask if I got the text sent to my phone.
I knew who they were just 2secs into the conversation but I just needed to play along, but what pissed me off was the harsh and commanding tone the fool was using and I told him a banker doesn't talk that way, I was also questioning them then soon his second told him something and he told me to go to my bank.
But the big question still remains how do they get these information's. There are actually some loopholes these banks need to fill.
lol...yh they are always very rude.
the main issue for me is how these guys get these info.
all they do is issue press statements distancing themselves from it. that's all.
there's no effort to protect customers. that's our vital information they're letting slip from their hands.
Saddamochieng00: I never said that all the matatus are pimped up. The pimped ones constitute over a third of the total number.
It just depends on the hood. Some hoods have more than two thirds of their matatus matatus pimped up.
Those small seater matatus I posted up there operate in Mombasa. They are distinct from the nairobi ones as you can see below. The back side is kinda raised.
Pic 1 Mombasa Pic 2 Nairobi
some areas might have more refurbished matatus but most in general are just your normal 14 seater buses.
vankelvin: You guys talk as if you know other countries than their own citizens, but you can't take it in a good faith when others speak what they think about your country..
aah don't come at me with the regular BS. aren't you tired already? you think I care what the your flawed view on Nigerians are?
vankelvin: Well, the thing is, Nigerian Cities a large sake of their population, and aside Abuja, your cities are mostly 50 to 70% slums with about 30 to 35% good looking areas. so you always deceive yourselves into thinking your Cities are lit but NO, they are not..
see this nigga...50% to 70% slums....looool. what the hell to you classify as a slum?? kibera type settlements? makoko type settlements? densely populated areas?? what exactly bloke?
how is it hard to decipher which looks better between uyo and Mombasa?
vankelvin: So before you talk bad about other cities, kindly remind yourself on the real state of your own cities.

oh so it's 12k and not 10k.
we're pretty much on the same page dawg.
most matatus are not what you're posting here and you know it.
FYI matatus fare is very cheap as they serve ghettos and middle class estates.
You can't compare these works of genius with those yellow crappy danfos of yours.
quote author=Saddamochieng00 post=91034397]
I'm not pained in any way.
just trying to avoid consuming half truths.
you should always post the real stuff.
so people, there are over a 100,000 matatus in Nairobi and most of them aren't the fancy buses you're you been made to believe. for all you know these shiny buses could make only 5% of the entire Nairobi matatu bus fleet. all you need to do is to run a Google image search on matatus and you'll see them in their real form.
below is a matatu sample in it's natural form and habitat.
vankelvin: I have not disputed their wealth or how much money they make. All I have said is Mombasa is far far beautiful, planned and developed that Uyo. And that is the fact.. You don't need to lie to make you look good okay.. Look at your own pictures, are you proud of UYO city as compared to Mombasa?
the same Mombasa that was posted here?
you might not have been following but that 'beautiful mombasa' you're screaming isn't bigger than 10 soccer fields.
from these matatu bus (that's what they're called right?) images it's very obvious this doesn't serve the whole of Nairobi.
pretty sure the matatu's don't even transport half of the Nairobi daily commuters.
cos it they were we'd be seeing a lot of them in videos of Nairobi.
earlier today I watched a documentary on aljazeera on how corrupt the government medical infrastructure and procurement program in Kenya is and throughout their street walks not a single clown bus was spotted.
ah shoot. here lies another ignorant post....aarrgh!
do you know the akwa ibom state where uyo city is located is richer than Mombasa?
uyo has always been better than Mombasa in most areas except tourism.
you're talking from your 'high place of authority' (probably on your wooden bench) typing all these like you have stuff to back them up.
vankelvin: Are you not even ashamed of yourself? Is it the streets or the landscapping that will destroy Mombasa? Ah, this kind of unnecessary comparisons are getting uninteresting bro.. Admit, Its only Lagos and Abuja that can stand Mombasa. Even if you compare PH or Calabar to Mombasa, it will make sense, but to compare Enugu, Ibadan, Kano,Owerri, Uyo or Kaduna is unthinkable.
Shma: I would agree with misfortune but not unfortunate. Unfortunate is simply being unsuccessful and you can't be unsuccessful if small group of people who are at risk of dying of hunger are being attended to when need arise., I can as well put it as blessed country. We are lucky because any remedies caused by misfortunes in Kenya will always hit global concern and hence reaching the headlines. Misfortune can be described well in drought infested region like turkana. That's just a bad luck, but the oil invention in that region also clears off the bad luck.
What about the world undisputed poverty capital that's hiding behind bush to wipe off the title of having the largest slum in the world??. What about your country holding the title of world poverty capital.?
the only outcome I see from this is Kenyans paying more unnecessary transport fares to cover cost for these weird buses. a bus with screens? are you kidding me?!
at the end of the day, wether it's a brt or a cab or even a danfo, the same services are being rendered.
