They want to investigate some things about your application and 'claims'. It happened to my brother. His Visa came out within two weeks. jswaggzo: I got approved for my F1 visa last week, but when I went to pick up my passport, the DHL attendant said it’s under “administrative processing”. I checked the visa status myself and it says the same thing. My school resumes first week of January. I’m confused because the consular officer approved my visa during the interview. Please who has any experience with this issue. |

You got it! People should be more creative in their responses. I'm not a VO ooooo, but I'm already tired of hearing "he is into REAL ESTATE". Joclins: That's why he asked if there are no other ways of saying that. It doesn't have to be my uncle works in Bleep company and has real estate in Bleep where he owns Bleep properties. It's a common line. I've observed as well.
Imo, you could say, my uncle works in Bleep company and earns Bleep annually. 40% of his earnings are from his company and 60% from family's Housing Business. |

Read the second and third paragraphs. Muleriders: What if the uncles are actually into real estate? |

PERSONAL OBSERVATION:
Most transcripts I've read here lately keep mentioning that their sponsor (uncle, father, etc) is into "REAL ESTATE".
Now, if you happen to be a VO and up to 70% of persons you interview each day keep repeating the same line when it comes to 'What does your sponsor do?' Won't that be a red flag for you?
I will personally get tired of hearing the term "he is into real estate". Tell me, are there no other ways of saying that? "If actually that's what your sponsor is into"
You have worked so hard and spent a lot to get to this stage. Please don't sound too vague and generalized in your responses or like you are just repeating a line you just copied somewhere online.
All the best to those scheduled for interview this week and the entire month. |

Congratulations to him! Funding is very key. It tells a lot. walepepe21: The below VISA APPROVAL Transcript was for my Blood brother who got his Visa Today At The Abuja Embassy.
Visa Approved on 08/11/2021 First Attempt School: University Of Kentucky Funding: $65,000 ( RAship with Excess of $8,000)
My interview was just two questions as the VO was impressed with my Assistantship and my DS-160 (i think as he was just reading through it).
VO: How did you got this huge scholarship? ME: I believe the admission committee were satisfied with my level of academic excellence and motivation towards research and earning a graduate degree. I graduated as one of the best students from my department and I have worked with some of my lectures who gave me brilliant recommendations along side my application.
VO: What will this degree do for you? Me: Thank you sir. This degree will afford me the opportunity for picking up a full time lecturing appointment at my alma Mata upon my return back to Nigeria as i intend to become a lecturer.
VO: I will be approving your VISA ME: Thank you Sir and have a good day.
I want to appreciate all the leaders on this group and God bless you all. |

I have to drop this here. Maybe it would encourage someone.
My brother used his "lecturer" in Nigeria as his sponsor. Can you imagine that? And guess what? His Visa was approved! And that was his first time of applying or even travelling outside Nigeria. The VO asked him 'why would she sponsor you'? His answer was, 'She is my academic mentor and project supervisor'
If you have a sponsor that is related to you, and have a verifiable account statement, I think that's something already.
Meanwhile, my brother finished his master's in April and had already started his PhD this fall, fully funded. Non-STEM field. |

No. It's not necessary. Or do you want to change your sponsor to "self"? Elizabeth005: Good afternoon everyone. Please is it advisable to move the deficit from sponsor’s account to my own account. Sponsor is my aunt. Thank you. |

Sorry for the denial. I was wondering, do you mean no funding of any kind at all for the PhD and your field is STEM? Lordjones: Visa delayed yet again, 3rd Attempt,( the previous 2 were B1/B2). Location: Abuja Embassy, Nov 1st, 9.15AM. COA: 38,000 Funding: Family Funds.
Sat down facing three male white consulars, one of them beckoned to me. As I approached him, I was doubting if he was the Korean guy, but he looked well built and more American. After his first question, my doubt was cleared.
V.O : Have you traveled out of Nigeria before? Me: I have been in Nigeria all my life.
V.O : what's your highest Academic qualification? Me: MSC Environmental health Science.
V.O: who is your sponsor and what does he do? Me: My Uncle, Mr..........., he is the CEO of......, he into.........
V.O: do you have his statement of account? Me: me show him my Uncle's Company's Domiciliary Account of 150k.
V.O: sorry you are not qualified ......
What is the way forward guys? No question was asked about my intended course of study (PhD Environmental Engineering, MTU) or plans after study. The consular no get joy at all, only read about one approval from him in the last 4 months. |

S/he asking you to apply simply means that you are 'qualified' for admission. However, you stand to compete with other eligible candidates especially if funding is involved. For success, you need to put up a good application with strong recommendation letters. Go for it! Phunmilola: Please I'm sorry if I'm derailing.
I contacted a prospective PhD supervisor, interviewed with him, and told to apply. Does that mean the PhD admission is certain? The program is my first choice and the supervisor is a perfect fit for my research area. Do I really need to apply for other PhD programs? |

Thank God oooooo. Honestly, nothing would have been done without the passport. And to get a new one between now and Friday is nearly impossible, looking at the situation at the passport office. Congratulations to him in advance. Anavamii: It’s been found praise God |

Obviously, the balance is more than the 3k deficit when you convert it. So, it's good to go. However, is this sponsor related to you? I foresee them asking you 'how much your sponsor earns monthly/yearly'. So be prepared to provide a convincing answer. Congratulations in advance. ogbonoluwa: Good day everyone, I got around 90% funding form school for master to be specific got funding of 30k have a deficit of 3k. My sponsor have a balance of 3million in is saving and current account just want to confirm if it okay for the embassy because I want to reduce the possibility of getting rejected. Thanks for all your input. |

No! It's neither about convincing the VO or not. I think the VO denied him/her visa based on profiling. The questions were just mere formalities. Owenuneed: Sorry you were not able to convince the V.O that you were a Credible student. Your Answers were not convincing enough. |
