Secondary school govt textbook in Nigeria. When you get to the topic pre-colonial administration in Nigeria, you only see 3 examples; hausa-fulani, Yoruba and Igbo. If the Benin empire was the best thing after MMM as our e-rats are telling us, shouldn't it feature? Who even reckons with the Oba of Benin outside of these shores?

Sports / Who Will Make Your World Best 11 Of 2016? by Bekwarra(m): 1:54am On Dec 31, 2016
The year will end in a few hours. The year 2016 has been an interesting year particularly in the world of sports with football not left out. There were several interesting and iconic moments in football this year chief among which are the Euro, Copa America, UCL, Club World Cup and the major league competitions. Not to bore you with these competitions and how they unfolded, I want to move to the outstanding players of 2016. Many great players enhanced their reputations this year, some disappointed woefully, some careers were rejuvenated while many others broke through.
I want us footballer lovers to pick our best eleven of the year being players we think have been consistently good in the going year. This does not dwell on reputation but performance at the club and national team level.

How It Goes
I'll nominate 5 players for each position on the pitch using a 4-3-3 formation except the Centre Back positions where I'll nominate 10 as most of them can play in either side of the Central Defence. You'll pick one player each from each position (2 from CB) to form your team.
Thus, there'll be a goalkeeper, Defence - a right back, 2 centre backs, a left back, Midfield - a defensive or holding midfielder, a central/box to box midfielder, a creative midfielder/playmaker, Attack - a right wing forward, a left wing forward and a number 9.

NB: My nominee list is subject to your whim as you may go outside it to pick your nominee. Please follow my format for clarity sake.

Goalkeeper
Manuel Neuer
Jan Oblak
David De Tea
Keylor Navas
Gianluigi Buffon

Right Back

It baffles me how convenient it is for some people to say there are no Yorubas in the South-south but claim confidently that there are Igbos in Kogi and Benue states. Funny indeed.

I listened to a program on TV (I believe AIT) which listed TIV as the fourth largest group.

Wikipedia says they number over 13million. I doubt this figure though, cus this would make them even larger than Igbos

Another source puts the figure at about 6 million. I think this more realistic: https://www.scribd.com/doc/54862764/Tiv-People

It was also on AIT that I heard them being mentioned as the fourth largest ethnic group. Although it was a news report on a press conference by a Tiv group condemning the targeted removals of prominent Tiv sons and daughters from government positions at the federal level.

what igbos in Edo or Rivers? I can see you're an igbo man under a different moniker. Igbos are migrants to South South.
If I kick you for your blokos. Do I look like one of those people who go about lying about their origin? I'm a Yorubaman and I will always be proud of that.

Op for your info they're no igbos in SS. The fourth largest ethnic group should be either Ijaw, Kanuri, Fulani or Bini.
What happened to the Igbos in Rivers and Delta states? I even heard there are some in Edo state.

Who told you there are over 200 ethnic groups? Was it Gowon or Queen Eliza? We like to take what we are given and run away with it without critical thinking.
Why don't you counter it with facts? Should I just take your words as fact? For example in Cross River state you have Yala, Ogoja, Obudu, Boki, Bekwarra, Ikom, Obubra etc. Different people spread across the state. Even in some local governments the people speak different languages. So you either argue with facts or you keep your opinion to yourself.
