Please how do I know the appropriate MP to direct my mails to? I'm heading to NBCC (New Brunswick Community College, Muncton Campus).

Webform seems futile because you'll get a response saying if it's within the processing time you won't be responded to.

Now, they don't reply to applicants out of their provinces most times. Find someone that stays in that province or schools in NBCC to act as your rep to inquire about your application by mailing the MP, when sending the mail to the MP, that person should also cc your mail.

IRCC has shown me shege, this waiting is harrrrdddddd.

May applicants, especially we that submitted in January, this week is our week for PPRs abeg, we are sending over our passports next week to be stamped, and we are flying out of the country next week or the week after the next. A big AMEN to that.

I'm new to nairaland & just joined the forum.

Please I'd appreciate response from people with similar experience, I got refused on my 1st application(Study permit) with my kids in Sept 2021(insufficient funds). I reapplied alone 31st Jan 2022 & got Medical request from IRCC on the 16th of March and it was updated to passed on the 29th of March and no word from them since then. It's making me anxious & wondering what could be responsible for the delay as I noticed that most people get response a week or 2 after medical is sorted.

I am resuming in May too, and my eligibility has started since around April 1, although I was told my Medicals and Criminality have been passed.
So what you can do is send various emails to the email addresses and through webforms, or you can reach out to an MP to help you find out quick info about your app.

Plz which is preferable in the new or old portal, I have started with the old portal already and my friends are saying I should use the new one instead.
Seems new portal needs an upfront medicals right?

Please use the new one nd make sure your documents are tight.

Do you know someone who lives in the region where you are going to study, if so, let that person be your rep to inquire from the MP fast?

That is what I did and my eligibility started a day after.

People resuming in MAY, just want to guarantee us that the good news comes this week. AMEN.

please how many days did it take the mp to get this update from IRCC?

The first time the MP reached out was on the 30th of March and promised to follow up on the 13th of April.
by the 1st of April, I logged into the portal and saw that my eligibility has started.
The Mp reached out yesterday again and IRCC claimed it's still under eligibility review.

Maybe email from the school or enrollment letter stating your start date.

Or whether you have to be around for "in person classes"

I suggest you forward to IRCC and that MP. It may or may not expedite your application. But atleast its worth a try.

[b]Our office inquired with IRCC regarding the status of name’s application. IRCC confirmed with our office that the application was received on January 15, 2022 and is currently processing at the Canadian Visa Application Centre in Nairobi, Kenya. IRCC let our office know that the criminality and medical assessments have passed. IRCC informed our office that the medicals on file are valid until February 22, 2023. Furthermore, IRCC informed us that the eligibility assessments are currently under review. Our contacts at IRCC let us know that no further documentation or information is required of Funmilayo at this time. Rest assured, should they require further action from Funmilayo, IRCC will reach out directly.



We understand name is set to commence classes in the beginning of May. Should she have any supporting documentation and/or a letter of explanation regarding the urgency of the situation, she is welcome to provide our office with any attachments she believes are relevant, and we will forward them to IRCC on her behalf. Should she choose to do so, please ensure any attachment(s) provided do not exceed the maximum file size 4MB. Please note, we cannot guarantee that this will result in expedited processing and/or a positive outcome.



With that said, our office will continue to monitor the status of the application, and provide you with updates as they become available to us. If you do not hear back from our office by May 13, please follow up via email. Rest assured, should we receive any updates before this time, we will be sure to let you know right away. Please be sure to keep our office informed of any updates Funmilayo may receive from IRCC directly.

Honestly same thing with me. I can’t focus again. Once e-mail drop in my phone my heart will skip. I had to disable Polaris bank email from my phone because they send me more than 10 mails a day that means my heart will skip more than 10 times a day.

Omo, I am resuming May 2 and my app has not shifted from eligibility review. Tears>> I have even lost focus on some things, once I wake up every morning like this, it is just PPR on my mind. I just want a decision abeg... so I can focus on other aspects of life.

I have submitted my application since Jan 25th, it's around the 11th week now, yet eligibility review hasn't commenced, my notes arrived last week and info sharing is still on, with no comments or notes from the VO at all. You can actually compose your email as you like but in a formal way. Technically, the Mp's office did not want to help me, because they only help folks in their region, so an acquaintance that lives in that region agreed to represent me to send an email on my behalf.

Yes, Eligibility is the round where they'll check if you are fit to obtain a study permit, before being issued a PPR.
I submitted my app on January 15 of this year.

Mine has, start sending emails so it starts at least... May resumption is near. I contacted an MP and a day or 2 after, my eligibility started.
