sotall:@Sotall Tanx but dats the usual way its done. When I I had Windows 8.1 on the laptop, I was able to change the account picture following this ur method. But now that I've installed Windows 8, when I get to the "personalization" menu and click on account Picture, the "browse" button will not be clickable. It will show, but I cannot click on it to take me to my picture gallery. |
Holla! @Skydancer, Buena Dia, senor (Good morning, Sir) The challenge with my laptop is that I cannot change my account Picture. The Laptop is an HP 655 with windows 8 OS. I've tried installing some software (forgotten the names now) which someone recommended bt it's not working. Can u help me? |
Bello dia, mi buena gente! (Beautiful morning, my good people) Now let's add some more to telling time: Assuming the time is 2:30 or 3:30 or 7:30, For English, there are two ways u could report the time and here are the spanish translations for each: 2:30 In English: (thirty past two o'clock) or (Half past two) In Spanish: (las dos y treinta) or (las dos y media) NoTe: how it goes for the "half past" times: the hour + y + media (meaning half). So the others follows suit: 3:30 Las tres y media 7:30 Las siete y media You can form ur own similar time and then translate it as a practice. Buena suerte! (Goodluck!) |
I think these faces are more popular than the ones that ain't there. Just imagine there is only 3x3 matrix-photo...which faces would you fill in. |
When I see many Nigerians and consider the way they reason, I become so sorry that many Nigerians will never see the light of good things from their government. I give my unwithheld support to GMB...come sun, come rain. |
Buena Dias, amigos! ?Como estuvo su noche? (U can reply if u like) Now let's go further in telling time. Imagine the time is : (2:07) In English you say: "It's Seven minutes past two o'clock" (dat's correct!) In spanish, the technique is like this: It's + the Hour + y (dis one is constant) + the minute. I.e "Las dos y siete" So that a time like: 2:09 would be reported as "Las dos y nueve" Just remember the technique: after "it's (las)" then u have the "hour" plus "y" and finally the "minute". So let's do these ones once more: 7:10 "las siete y diez" "it's ten past seven" 9:25 "las nueve y veinticinco" "it's twenty-five past nine" 10:45 "las diez y cuarenta y cinco" "it's forty-five past ten" *"cuarenta y cinco" means "forty-five" in spanish. So try these: 1. Report these in spanish: a. 6:03 b. 8:20 2. Report these in English: a. Las once y veinte b. Las doce y treinta |
Lionbite:Lol Dat guy is full of unrealistic drama. Can't make my top 20 list. |
I Revere all these guyz but I think I have more respect for number 5 coz he's been in the show before all the other ones and has never disappointed. He may not be the most talented, but he's obviously the most decorated actor among them all...and also has a corporate profile that's higher than the rest of them.

dikeclint10:Thanks...your words are encouraging. I'm in love with the language so I'll keep writing. Though I'm also learning too.lol |
6. Talking About UNION BANK: I am pretty sure that this bank resents modern techniques and technologies. They give no f**k what the latest trends in the banking sector are. They just remained stereotyped with the old practices...and that's why The Old Mamas and Daddies love them. . The bank is old . Workers are old people . Customers are old people . I wonder why they are not still using the Old Naira Notes. |
I came across this post on facebook and I quite agree with the OP to some extent. "Let's talk about Nigerian Banks!!! ( Just for fun!!!) (1) U.B.A That bank looks like a shrine..Everywhere is just painted red.. Hehehehehee this bank is very stingy... They will never employ workers... Its only in UBA you will enter and see empty cashier (think OP meant TELLERS) seats... They only employ 1 Cashier stressing customers as if they will feed you after. I suspect there General manager is a Manchester United fan. They spent a lot of money to build a bank but employed few slow workers who can't even satisfy customers (Pogba). (2) First Bank This bank has the highest number of customers...The only bank that looks like a market......The only difference is that you see people with suits and pens. (3) Eco bank!!! Hian this bank will just be looking like somebody's bathroom.. Very small bank... Just jam park people like sardines......Their workers no dey even wear suit again probably because of heat... Everybody they enter the bank with hand fans .. (4) Diamond Bank.... This bank dey vex me pass our politicians. Just fancy for nothing.....They will just use flowers to design everywhere.... I even heard their General manager is an Agriculturist.... Only to employ beautiful ladies... Some people will come to bank and won't like to go back again because of the beautiful compound.. (5) I hate Zenith bank... The only thing dem know how to do best is to decorate their walls with mirrors. You will just stay at the front and be seeing someone behind you...Sometimes if you enter the bank, you will be confused . you won't even know which road to follow because everybody is appearing two two for the mirror... I wonder if their general manager is a Crystal palace fan.. Just carry crystal full everywhere. (6) Union Bank!!!! This bank is older than some people's grandfather... Sometimes, I begin to think maybe the children of Israelites have accounts with Union bank... Their security men sef na old old men...old old men bank... Even baba has an account with union bank...." Proceeding from there and adding to these: 3. Let's Revisit Eco-Bank: This bank gave me the toughest moment of my life during my NYSC in Delta State. It is in Eco-Bank that different branches charge different fees for a Bunch of Withdrawal Booklet (who says it's to be sold anyway?). One sold for NGN350.85 and the other sold for NGN550.00, and you DARE NOT argue with the customer service. You know what it is like when you're expecting your first ALAWI some weeks after camp and you're deadly broke. Then, suddenly after CDS at your LGA (far away from your PPA) you got an alert of NGM2,000.00 from a good friend. You quickly rush to a nearby branch for withdrawal and they're like: "you must get a withdrawal booklet for NGN350.85 first and minimum balance is NGN1,000.00. My guy, you got to negotiate this. You ignored them and went to a branch in your PPA, hoping for free withdrawal slips like most other banks do, but then you hear something like: "you have to obtain a withdrawal booklet for NGN550.00" Boy-o-boy! What will you do? That was my escapade with this bank that made me hate them so much. But I think the most annoying thing about this bank is their VERY SLOW way of attending to customers. One bad branch I visited that period purposely dedicated just one TELLER to be attending to customers so that they could learn to use the ATM. But I noticed that over 90% of customers on the queue were elderly people and market women, we the younger ones were such unlucky coz NYSC assigned us to them. So when you wanna visit this bank, make sure you go with your phone, and ensure you have Internet sub so you could catch some fun on Nairaland while you stay in the queue for more than 3hrs. |
So let's make a sentence here: *Son las Tres! #It's three O'clock *son las dos #it's two o'clock *son las nueve #it's nine o'clock |
Buenos dias, amigos! *Espero que tu noche fue bien #Hope your night was good. Today, let's learn a few things about saying the time in spanish. Remember what we learnt the last time. *?que hora es? Now the response could be anything depending on what time of the day it is. Here is a simple way to get a response across: When someone asks you, ¿Qué hora es? respond with the following: *Es la una #It's 1 o'clock (if the time is within the 1 o’clock hour) or *Son las + the hour (if the time is after 1 o’clock) Now for this last response beyond one o'clock, you have to fill in the appropriate number other than Una (one) in spanish. So, we are going to learn how to translate numbers into spanish so we could use them to form the remaining time responses. Now here they are: One..........Uno/Una Two..........Dos Three.......Tres Four.........Cuatro Five..........Cinco Six............seis Seven.......siete Eight.........Ocho Nine..........Nueve Ten............Diez Eleven.......Once Twelve.......Doce |
myrrtle:Seriously I don't think anything is wrong with all that. I could inbox u my CV so you'll see for yourself. One particular guy, I did his CV for him myself cos he went for Redeem Camp at that time and couldn't do all that by himself. But I ll appreciate if you have formidable formats I could use to modify my CV. Thanks! |
PaperLace:My broda...I'm not looking at the cash, I'm looking out for two things: 1. Where I'll get a real industrial experience 2. Where I'll not spend much during the course of the IT in terms of T-fair and other expenses. But even now, I just want an acceptance first, before considering whether it ll pay off or not. |
Tanx guys but its really so frustrating............ Learning a skill means I'm gonna pay money to some dude sho's gonna teach me the skill. If I get that money seriously I won't be looking for IT placement. But I will try and see if I could get myself busy with some self-tutored skills as u suggested. |
themosthigh:Seriously ![]() I'm sorry for your bad experiences. But nothing ever should make a MAN to question the deity of God. Believe me, what you are going through now is no different from what many men of God have gone through in their lives, yet they still profess their faith in God. Believe me again dear, if God remembers you, just a single hour of his favor will erase memories of many years of traumatic experiences you've had so far. I ll only advise you to just "go back" to Him in personal prayer and ask Him to forgive you and have mercy upon you. Never believe with anyone that he will remember you if you do so so so and so...but just keep on praying daily to Him with hope that one day He will remember You. For sure He will. "I will have Mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion." Says the Lord. Romans 9:15 |
Meanwhile...let me keep using my BB and saving for my iphone 7. Lol HNY to all BlackBerry Users. |
Oxtonguy:I spent 5 good years in Ibadan, UI environs precisely. "Bodija District" ![]() Where did you get d DISTRICT from? Who does not know how skunk Bodija smells like? No market in Enugu smells like that shit! My dear, I think you are just good at two things: 1. Exaggerating an inconsequential matter 2. Employing vulgar words to address people (thought you should be more civilized and address the issue, and not attacking the individual). |
Fellow Nairalanders, it is with great desperation that I write this. Maybe you can give me a good advice on what to do. I just finished a diploma program in electrical/electronic engineering last year (2016) October from a popular Nigerian polytechnic, and since then I've been searching for a reputable firm I could do my 1 Year IT with but with no success. I graduated with a Distinction, and very skilled at my profession. I started applying for IT placement since the beginning of my last semester at school. I applied for NLNG, CHEVRON, SCHLUMBERGER, WRPC, SWIFT NETWORKS (Lagos), SONNY ERICSON Nigeria (Lagos), and many other smaller firms. But till now, I have never received a single mail/text msg invitation for an aptitude test or to start my IT. What pains me most is that some of my friends I helped to applied to some of these companies (NLNG, Chevron, Sonny ericson) were invited for a test in the respective companies. Some of these my friends even have carry overs still in school, yet they were considered. I don't know what's wrong in my case. Several times I've thought of giving up on school and just start a business, cos I can't continue to stay at home anymore waiting for a surprise text msg/mail that is not forthcoming. Please what should I do in this situation? Should I go on with my life and start a biz or should I still wait? |
I applied but I didn't get an invite. I also applied during the July SIWES app but it's like they cancelled that one. What pains me is that a friend of mine I also applied for was invited for the test...but no show for me. |
softMarket:I'm sure you ll never wake up from that DREAM. |
I want you to know that in writing spanish, whenever you wanna ask a question, u begin ur sentence with an inverted question mark and end with an upright question mark. I failed to use it previously until someone here drew my attention to it. BTW thanks @junioromniscient. So, if I wanna say: #what time is it? It would go like this: *?que hora es? Pls assume that the first question mark is inverted as there is no way I could achieve the inversion with my phone keys. Gracias! |
*Feliz ano nuevo #Happy New Year *Prospero ano nuevo #Prosperous New Year *Feliz ano nuevo, mi amigos! #Happy New Year, my friends! |
Can you use the corrections in a sentence? Thanks |
Which IBADAN be this...? I laugh in Swahili......you must be telling ferry Tales to people who have not lived in IBADAN. The funniest pix is the one of IBADAN at Night. I guess you got that pix from Heaven. Don't even reason it, Ibadan smells like pig. For sure Ibadan may be more developed than Enugu, but it's not anywhere near all these over-exagerations. |
I attest for ENUGU. ENUGU should be in any list of best nigerian cities to live in. You can put it in any position, but even if the list is just ONE BEST Nigerian city to live in, never leave out ENUGU. |
V

Dare2Try have you dared to try find out why such a move is a wise option for a man who has denied himself the course he fights for? How does sewage disposal benefit him that makes u think he's being a spend drift? For GEJ's regime, the spending was on food stuff and presidential travel allowances as well as recreational allowances. You could see the difference between looting for the belly and for health and environment. |
