sir i cant argue with you, I'm speaking for myself based on my own experience there. all i know is i was treated in NOHE and today i can walk to the glory of God. before i was operated, some tried to discourage me , saying the doctors would complicate the issues more, thanks to God i didn't listen to them. sir doctors treats but God heals. some spinal cord injury patients i met then in the ward i was in, hasn't walked till today. even the best surgeon in the world can't heal anybody's bone, they just treat the patients and leave the rest for God,

*DARE TO BE JOSEPH*

A youth in the Bible whose name was *Joseph*. The 11th son of the sons of *Israel*. He was the most loved by his father and as a result was envied by his brothers. His mother, *Rachael* died while giving birth to his brother, *Benjamin*. *Joseph* never allowed the circumstances of life to weigh him down because he knew the *Lord* made everything he did to prosper.

*QUALITIES OF JOSEPH*

1). *Transparency*: Despite the fact that Joseph knew he was hated by his brothers yet he decided to relate his dreams to them and they hated him the more but he loved them still.

2). *Obedience*: His father, *Jacob*, said to him,"Are not your brothers feeding the flock in Shechem? Come, I will send you to them." And Joseph answered, "Here I am". Who would have obeyed like this even with a humble heart knowing his brothers hated him because he was favoured by his father but he decided to go to the field and know their welfare.

3). *Good Approach*: While he was wondering in the field searching for his brothers, a certain man met him to ask what he was looking for. Instead of ignoring the man, he began with the statement, " I am seeking my brothers, *please* tell me where they are feeding their flocks"

4). *Humility*: When Joseph found his brothers, they had already conspired to do him harm. But finally one of them decided they throw him into the pit. So when he came closer he was stripped off his coat of many colours. Joseph did not fight neither quarreled them but he still remained humble

5). *Responsible*: *Joseph* was later sold to *Portiphar*, an officer of *Pharaoh*. And everything in his master's house was under his care. *Joseph* took responsibilities of the house and the Lord was with him and made everything he did to prosper.

6). *Discipline*: Although, everything in *Portiphar's* house was kept under the care of Joseph but he never took advantage of it as to sleep with his Master's wife. *Joseph* was disciplined in that area and told her that he could not sin against God and against his Master.

7). *Good Interpreter of dreams*: Yes, *Joseph* possessed this great gift of interpretation of dreams. He was able to interpret the dream of the both the Chief Butler and Chief Baker and the interpretations he gave came to pass. He also interpreted the dream of *Pharaoh* which led him to becoming the Prime Minister of Egypt.

. *Great Investor*: He knew there would be seven (7) years of great increase in Egypt and seven (7) years of famine as was the dream *Pharaoh* had. So *Pharoah* handed over the land to him and said," You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you". So *Joseph* was able to gather up food for seven years and stored them and the counting of the stock was without number. Now, *Joseph* saw ahead of time a the famine that would come and began from that moment to plan ahead and when the famine came people came to *Pharaoh* crying for food. He referred them to *Joseph* and food were sold to them. With that, *Joseph* made great increase for the land.

9). *Love*: Regardless of how he was treated by his brothers while he was a youth, *Joseph* still showed love to his brothers. He asked about the last born, *Benjamin* and their father, *Jacob*. He was able to recognize even though they weren't able to and commanded the servants to give much food as can be contained in their bags to them with their money refunded.

10). *Forgiveness*: Indeed, *Joseph* had the virtue of forgiveness. He overlooked everything his brothers did to him in the past. Can we find such a heart now? Yes, we can. He dealt with that eveil voice that would have told him to take a revenge. He looked ahead and embraced the love of Christ towards his brothers and father. Because of *Joseph*, Egypt was greatly blessed and God caused everything he laid his hands to do to prosper.

*Joseph* went from the *Pit*- *Prison* - *Prime Minister*.

Let's talk about finance
In our contemporary world, the most difficult thing to handle now is Finance. Most ladies have even drawn the conclusion to be dependent on their husbands to cater for their needs because of the inability to properly manage and handle money. The truth is not far fetched that ladies these days would rather prefer to spend all their earnings on fashion - hair, cream, clothes, etc only to discover at the end of the month had been kept to save for the future.

Take a look at this scenario.
A lady who works in a production firm where soaps of different kinds are produced earn #150,000 monthly. Her plans for the month goes thus:

i) Tithe-#15,000
ii) Foodstuffs-#20,000
iii) Family support-#30,000
iv) Fashion(cosmetics, etc)-#20,000
v) Miscellaneous -#15,000

Let's take the statistics of the budget for the month
It is deduced that 10% of her income was tithed and the same percentage for her miscellaneous. 13.33% was allocated to her foodstuffs and her cosmetics and clothing. 20% went to the support of her family and 13.33% of the income was saved.

Now, this lady worked for 10yearsamd finally decided to set up her own business. This was then her savings for those 10years.

Every month - #50,000
In a year - #50,000×12=#600,000
For 10 years - #600,000×10=#6,000,000

She decided to stop after 10yrs to establish herself and then go into full time business. Note: The savings were not all put in one investment. It was diversified to avoid high investment risks.

Planning
1,000,000 was used to rent a shop for the sales of fresh eggs. As it began to yield profit, she expanded the business and added indomie in cartons. Since she wasn't able to handle the shop alone, sales personnel's were employed for proper efficiency. And on she went into making investments in diverse places.

One of the problems in most striving marriages is the issue of finance. Most homes have been wrecked because of poor management of finance.

Prov 31:13, 15-16
13: A wonderful lady seeks "wool and flax" and willingly works with her hands. She doesn't need to be told that there is need to work. She engages herself in learning a skill, looking for a job or starting a small scale business.

15: She works all through till night to provide for her households and maidservants.

16: A virtuous lady has the knowledge of good financial management. Not just that she saves, but she saves from her profits to make investment.

Financial Tips From The Bible
No matter the source of your income, I mean legitimate sources of income, always have this in your mind- Learn to earn more, spend less and save appropriately.

You may be asking yourself as a lady. How do I learn to make budgets, save and plan for the future? There is need to be wise in handling finance, oh ladies (Prov 2:13) m

Here are some tips for you

1. Set priorities: Prov 24:7 says, "Prepare your outside work, make it fit for yourself in the field; and afterward build your house."

Priorities refer to an item's relative importance. This is similar to your needs and not wants to avoid unnecessary squandering. You must not earn like the lady sited in the example above to outline your priorities. Maybe your source of income is small, make sure your outlined priorities do not exceed your income and your savings not more than your priorities and miscellaneous. "Your field isn't something you need for survival, it is actually a means of survival"

2. Make a budget(Luke 14:28-30)
What is budget? Budget is an itemized summary of intended expenditure; usually coupled with expected revenue. What makes budget different from setting out priorities is that cost is allocated to each of the expenditure.

From the Bible passage, before a project is executed or an income is spent, there is need to sit down and count the cost for all that is required before spending to achieve a good result.

Note: In every income you earn, set aside a budget for miscellaneous expenses.

3. Build an emergency fund(Gen 41:34-36)
From the Bible passage, we discovered that the plenteous years came before the seven lean years. And Joseph used this opportunity to save up in abundance for the famine to come.
Maybe, as a lady, you need to execute a heavy project, say building a house, renting a shop, paying off bills in the next two years, etc, the best time to start saving for it from that small salary of yours is Now.

Picture the time you need to execute that project and set a specific amount to be saved everyday, week or month as the income comes in. vs 47-49, the Bible recorded that Joseph gathered up food for seven years and laid them up in the cities. He gathers much grain and at the point stopped counting because they were without number.

Dear lady, do not wait for the rushy hour when you will be choked with so many expenses that you won't be able to settle before executing the planned project. Start saving now for emergency or unforseen circumstances.

As a lady, do not lay all your eggs in one basket. You can open various bank account, say two, for effective use. One account can be used for miscellaneous or expenditure and the other for savings.

4. Avoid debts(Prov 22:7)
The reason why most ladies fall into debt is to show off or boost their ego. Imagine a lady who wants to have a wedding in a month time suggested to the husband to rent one of the expensive hall in the area. The husband told her that he wasn't having the money for such rent. He suggested that they make use of the church or any hall of lesser amount. She insisted they borrow the money because her friends will be coming and she wanted it to be the talk of the town.

In the bid to please her, her husband went ahead to borrow and after the wedding, it dawn on them the debts they had to pay.
Not just the fact that debts occur as a result of ego. It is also as a result of lack of confidence, anxiety, depression, etc.
So lady, stand up and work. Stop seeking for help here and there, thereby attracting pity. There are greener pastures. So cultivate, after and in due time, harvest.

5. Diversify your investments(Eccl 11:2)
From the four already listed principles, we can deduce that no savings or investment is complete without "putting it in different baskets". Diversification of investment is necessary. When your savings is up to a maximal level, it shouldn't be invested in just one business but in different places.

6. Make financial plan

Prov 21:5 says, "The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty".

Prov 15:22, "Without counsel, plans go awry. But in the multitude of counsellors they are established"

Prov 6:6-8, "Go the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise.... Which no captain, overseer or ruler provides her supplies in the summer and gathers her food in the harvest".

This rule governs other aforementioned principles which include budgeting and saving up for emergencies.

Note: It is difficult to get through life without financial plan. Writing a financial plan on a paper and checking it every month to know if you are really on track is a great task and demands a high level of discipline. Discipline in the sense that, high expenditures on wants rather than needs should be limited, investing money into high risk business should be reconsidered and many more.

Money isn't bad, it's just one of the important thing in life. When money is used properly- supporting siblings in their education, feeding, giving alms to the needy, clothing, etc, it is a useful tool. We shouldn't get carried away with the amount of money we have saved and how to make more but we should be grateful for the one we have.

Be a master to money and never be its slave

Six senators-elect on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dumped the party following the crisis rocking the party over who replaces Bukola Saraki as Senate President.
The APC had endorsed Ahmed Lawan to become the next Senate President, but some lawmakers are opposed to what they termed 'imposition' in the national assembly.
For that, former Abia state governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, who has hinted he may contest for the top senate position, has defected to the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Joining him is the outgoing governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun, who is not in good terms with the APC national working committee.
The four others who defected to PDP are... Oh sorry, lets remind you that today is April 1st - April Fools Day!

*WHO IS ESTHER?*
It happened in the land of Shushan during the days of King Ahasuerus that in the third year of his reign, he decided to hold a feast for all his officials and servants to show the riches of his glorious kingdom and the splendor of his excellent majesty. He had a wife named *Queen Vashti* who also made a feast for the women in her royal place.

On a certain day, the heart of the king was merry with wine and he commanded his chamberlains to bring *Queen Vashti* with her royal crown in other to show her beauty to the people because she was beautiful to behold. But she refused to show up.

*Queen Vashti* lacked honour for her husband
*Queen Vashti* was beautiful but proud
*Queen Vashti* lost her opportunity
*Queen Vashti* had the inability to apologize for her wrong
*Queen Vashti* was used as an example to other women to teach them how to honour their husbands be it great or small..

Now, Esther in the picture.

A young beautiful orphan whose name was *Hadassah* *(Esther)* who was raised by Mordecai and was among the beautiful virgins that was sought for the King.
*Esther* possessed the following qualities which I will recommend for any ideal woman. They are as follows;

1). *Not loquacious*: Despite the favour *Esther* found before Hegai, the keeper of the women,she did no reveal anything to her people or kindred. Now, in our time, women no longer control their speech, especially in the area of marriage, finance and other area. For any woman to be successful, she must learn to *"work hard in silence and let success make the noise"*

2). *Contentment*: Every woman in the palace had twelve(12) months for preparation-six months of oil and myrrh and six months with perfumes for beautification. Each woman went to the king and was given whatever she desired but when it was Esther's turn, she requested nothing. She just wanted to appear natural and making extra effort by adorning herself more than necessary to please the King.

In our present day, many women would wish to apply all the make ups and paintings on their faces to attract men only to discover that not all men are actually after physique but *character*

3). *Obedience*: Even when Esther found grace and favour before the King and was set with the royal crown and made a Queen, she still did not reveal it to her kindred as commanded by Mordecai. And even when the two eunuchs of the King, *Bigthan* and *Teresh* sought to lay hands on the King, it got to the ears of Mordecai who in turn told Esther and she obeyed and told the King who later gave a command that they should be hanged.

"As the saying goes," To obey is better than to sacrifice". Many sisters lack this virtue of obedience and would rather prefer to make decisions on their own which most times results in regrets..

4). *Considerate*: *Queen Esther* did not disregard the fact that she had a country, neither did she neglect this because she had been made a Queen but she considered her people (the Jews) when Haaman conspired to destroy them. *Queen Esther* placed her people first before pleasure for Haaman to be put to shame.

5). *Understanding of purpose*: According to the knowledge of the King's provinces that no man or woman goes into the inner court to the King who has not been called, but *Queen Esther* understood her purpose in the palace and used that medium to exercise her power in delivering her people from the hands of Haaman. She was indeed a *sacrificial woman*.

How many of us still consider where where we came from when we get married to a prominent man in the country?

Do we go with him for the purpose of enjoying material things or making impacts that would benefit the upcoming generation?

Do we stand to fight for justice and not compromise standards because of money?

6). *Prayerfulness*: This is the virtue most of us know about *Queen Esther*. ." ........and if I perish, I perish!". Yes, *Esther* interceded for her nation for three days and nights so that she could go in before the King and find favour before him concerning Haaman's conspiracy against the Jews.

i) Prayer makes you find favour before God and man
ii) Prayer settle matters in the spiritual realm before they manifest in the physical.
iii) Prayer disannul laws and orders of the land.

7). *Humility in speech*: "If it pleases the King, let the King and Haaman come today to the banquet that I have prepared for Him". *Esther* would have just told the King immediately what her request was since the golden sceptre had been stretched unto her which qualified her to make her petitions before the King.

. *Patience*: *Queen Esther* did not misuse her power. Even when the King and Haaman to the banquet of wine, that the King asked again what her petition was. But she said to the King, " and if it pleases the King to grant my petition and fulfill my request, then let the King and Haaman come to the banquet which I will prepare for them Tomorrow ". *Queen Esther* took her time to prepare a nice banquet and an avenue to make her petition.

9) *Confidence*: *Queen Esther* was confident to her case to the King. She knew that was the right time to tell of the evil Haaman had planned to do to her people. At that point, the King was wrath with Haaman's plan.
Remember, the King initially could not sleep because of *Esther*. He wanted to grant her request for she had found favour in his sight.

Note:
i). She was obedient to the call
ii). She had a natural beauty that she was comfortable with.
iii). She was considerate about her people.
iv). She was bold to blot out the conspiracy of Haaman against her people before the King in an humbly manner
v). She was a great intercessor and committed one to; praying for the nation
vi). *Mordecai* was elevated because of *Esther*

Be like *Esther* and save the nation.
