It would be a risk taking Ezenwa to world cup if he doesn't fully recover from his injuries..he is most likely our first team goalie, he has barely played 3 games this year..God help us, this is not looking good for us at all..he would lack match sharpness and this is even an average GK at best... |

Rohr Forcing Nigerian Players To Sign Contracts For World Cup Spots, DW Sports Agency Breaches Fifa Rule Published: April 11, 2018
Rohr Forcing Nigerian Players To Sign Contracts For World Cup Spots, DW Sports Agency Breaches Fifa Rule Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr may be involved in some underhand dealings that will jeopardize the chances of the national team performing well at the 2018 World Cup.
The German is imitating Nigeria 1994 World Cup coach Clemens Westerhof, who forced Emmanuel Amuneke to sign for Duisburg and coerced Daniel Amokachi to join Club Brugge over Anderlecht who were also interested in his services.
There are rumours that Rohr has joined forces with DW Sports Management to force Super Eagles players to sign representative agreements with the French-based agency or be omitted from the roster for the World Cup.
It is confirmed that Rohr visited Ahmed Musa and Moses Simon in Russia and Belgium respectively and few months later the two wingers joined the stable of DW Sports Management.
This website can confirm one hundred percent that the Gent winger was financially induced by DW Sports Management before he penned the representation contract and will pocket a percentage of the commission if he joins a new club after leaving Belgium and this is a breach of Fifa's rules banning third parties from influencing the transfer of players.
Bursaspor defender William Troost-Ekong was also approached to join DW Sports Management but he refused their overtures despite Rohr surprisingly handing him the captain's armband against Poland last month in a pre-World Cup friendly.
DW Sports Management also handles the affairs of Henry Onyekuru, Mikel Agu, Oghenekaro Etebo, Brian Idowu and Abdullahi Shehu, bringing the total number of World Cup bound players they manage to seven and counting.
English-based agent Tony Harris influenced the naming of Reuben Gabriel, Michael Uchebo, Ahmed Musa and Uche Nwofor in Nigeria's 2014 World Cup squad and the national team lacked a quality bench in the mundial, they struggled to qualify for the last sixteen before they were eliminated.
In the light of the foregoing, Rohr and DW Sports Management's antics will affect the Super Eagles performance in Russia if they are not cautioned by the Nigerian Federation.

Loogan: You are the one saying thier yardstick to comparing them both is flawed but yours is worse! You should not judge quality based on how many matches played some players are naturally gifted. Willian had played alot of matches won trophies but if they tell you to choose between him and Asensio who I'm not sure has racked his 50app who would you choose? There is levels to this game. I love them both but cmon don't you k 1. umar is better than awoniyi on the air not just because he's taller but It's a proven strong point of umar amoury, his first serial a game for Roma at age 19 was a nice well placed header, the coach who gave him his break in the first team got sacked and since then he went on loan to bologna where injuries and lack of play time saw his game stall. The seria a is not a league for youngsters it's more experienced players. He had a wonderful preseason at Roma and was sent to be the second striker to Italy's first choice striker, he had limited game time but he still played but did not score, now he's in the edisevere where awoniyi actually struggled. 2. Umar is more direct, more skillful, more unpredictable and faster. 3. Awoniyi is the better team player and works his socks off for the team. Both of them are good at hold up plays. I want you to watch these two players without sentiment, if you are a real football lover it's not hard to identify who the better talent is. As regards to umar lack of game time, he has played in an Olympic competition against the very bests in the world as the top striker for us, scored and won a bronze medal trust me that exposure and experience has improved him drastically. He has 4goals and 3assits in 8games where he didn't start all Thank you bro, I didn't have to waste my time explaining their both strength and weakness...one thing for sure, when you see talent, you know right away...there is just something about their game.. They would both be a blessing to the Nigerian team for the future..glad we have upcoming talents.. |

tbaba1234: Umar is a serious talent... He is above all our striking prospects at the moment in my opinion.
When i started mentioning Ebere Eze, Many dismissed it. Now he is courting the interest of major clubs like Liverpool and Tottenham. If he continues impressing, he will most likely be in the premier league next season. Then we will be in a battle with Scotland to cap him. Hopefully, the people in charge are paying attention.
Identifying talent early would save us from the hassle of battling with wealthier countries. Imagine if Dele Ali was picked early when he was showing serious talent before he moved to the premier league. We can't always wait till they get established. totally agree with you Sir Tbaba1234!!! We need to cap that guy early b4 we loose him...I know a lot of guys on this thread know a serious talent when they see one, sometimes when the talent is just obvious you just have to admit this guy is good... |

andrew444: I am not a fan of both of them but how is awoniyi not better than umar? How many goal has umar scored in his career ? How many goal has awoniyi scored in his career? The umar you are talking about has not even score up to 10 goal in his footballing career and you are here saying awoniyi is not better than umar?
How do you rate strikers is it by goal scored or what else ? There is nothing special about umar,I repeat my self nothing special
Maybe you will say he got a move to as Roma didn't awoniyi got a move to Liverpool? I am not a fan of neither of them but for you to say awoniyi is not better than umar says it all I hope you know Awoniyi and Junior Ajayi were the top strikers b4 the Olympics for the U23...Awoniyi was dropped from the squad because of umar, Ajayi also lost his starting spot to Umar... Bro you have been watching football for a while, by now you should be able to identify and dinstiguish serious talent..sometimes a player could be a late boomer and outdo his mate in the future...based on watching awoniyi and Sadiq, I can tell you sadiq is better quality to Awoniyi...I followed Awoniyi through the u17 days to the u20 and I was his fan boy...I was even initially angry that siasia would drop awoniyi in that Olympic team..it was when the tournament started i just had to accept Sadiq was better .. Well time would tell as both their professional career unfolds..I really do have high expectations for both of them.. |

Kog45: There is one thing that keep on baffling me here, double standard, just checked Umar Sadiq professional record so far, really surprised that some believe he has something to offer than Ideye and funny enough better than Ighalo?fallacies
Cyril Dessers started his professional career in Belgium with a lowly club where he had good youth football before moving to Lokeren with 25 appearance with no goal for two season and moved to Nec breda in dutch division two with awesome performance and snapped up by Utrecht, but so far couldn't tie a regular shirt though 7 goals in 17 appearance but some believe he is the answer,no issue he can be a good option.
But telling me Ajagun at 25 has passed his prime but Dessers at 25 still has a lot to offer, why double standard in passing comments on our bona fide players who are doing well. Forgiveness would love you for your last paragraph sir....please don't check Umars record sir, watch his games, I know professionally he hasn't played too many games but there is something unique about his style...we are just saying the coach should try him not necessarily carry him to the world cup...at least the coach can map in his head of another way to go about games.. I doubt Ideye has anything to offer this team someone else on the team is not already doing.. |

edi287: Umar name popped up because some feel we need someone with hold up play correct?? I'm sorry if I'm a coach, the only reason I'd pick him over Ideye at the moment is that he has a greater upside. If we were to pick who I expect to perform better in a tournament, I'd pick Ideye no doubt. Ideye is more similar to Deeney than Ighalo in my honest opinion. Ideye can hold the ball up better than Ighalo. Both can play together. We are not just talking of hold up play, we are talking about an extra striker that would add something different to the team this current team doesn't possess...Umar has that unpredictability and dynamism about him...Ideye doesn't have this..in fact ideye and Ighalo have similar skill set except Ighalo is more skillful than him..Umar is a totally diff guy with his style of play.. |

AIG07: @the first bold, Ideye has once played the wide man in a 4-3-3 for the SEs and he excelled in that role. He brought out the best in Emenike during AFCON'13.
the second bold is assumptive. We can never write them off just like that. The only problem is that time is against us and there is no longer room for experimentation(as I've stated in my earlier post).
All that is needed to be done is to find a quick fix to the inability of our point men to score and how do we do that? Get a potent striker to provide more options for the coach. And too be honest we don't have any real potent striker..the only potent guy on the team is nacho and he is not a pure striker.. |

forgiveness: Bros, I was the first person here to clamor for Sadiq Umar's invitation to the national team and Olympics team because I followed his games bumper to bumper but I didn't see him do what he is doing now I the Eredivise in the Seria A.
It simply means Eredivise is not up to the standard of Sergio_A to cut it short and simple. Chief he does take on defenders in seria A, that is his style of play..he just didn't get enough minutes to showcase himself plus the rustiness of sitting on the bench affects a player confidence...that confidence is what he is gaining back at eredivise since he is getting more minute.. When Roma played against Psg in the friendly, he was taking on their defenders like crazy..watch the highlight again..this were champion league defenders ooo..I was in the stadium that day, I was surprised he had that kind of flair..this were psg first team defenders ooo..I was even surprised when I saw those defenders playing in champions league, at that time the only psg defender I recognised then was thiago silva and kurzawa..in fact Dani alves played on that day too..please watch the highlight again.. The point I'm trying to make is he is not afraid of any defender, that has his style, he has a directness about him.. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by bengine: 8:06pm On Apr 07, 2018 |
AIG07: Nice suggestion! Ideye is a good guy. I so much admire his style of play-he creates room/space for his mates(in most cases a SS) to thrive. He has good positional ability and knows how to draw out defenders. But his lack of goal instinct is his undoing. Bringing Ideye back will only force/take rohr back to the match against Zambia @ Ndola where Ideye led our attach line with Nacho playing behind him. This will definitely see Mikel play from deep as a CM which I don't see Rohr doing.
The other options are retaining Mikel in the AMF role and playing Ideye as a lone striker which is not better off having Ighalo as the lone striker.
The best option for him(brown) to me is playing in a 3-man front line of V. Moses-Ighalo-Ideye in 4-3-3 (^) which will see Ighalo and Ideye swap positions easily {just like we had him with Emenike} with J. Obi/Ogu-Mikel-Ndidi as our 3 men in midfield. But the question is, do we have the time to try it out before the tournaments proper. Ighalo or Ideye don't have the defensive discipline to play in a 4-3-3..one of them would have to track back to help defensively..you can only play one of them as strikers..both can't work..both are pure strikers..nacho with one of them works because he is not a pure striker. And u can't even play nacho in a 433 with Ighalo leading the line.. |

tbaba1234: Spot on..
The boy can trouble a lot of defenses... He showed the good and the bad sides today.. Missed a great chance and then beats multiple defenders before he was fouled.. The free kick led to a goal..
I do not see any of our strikers that can make things happen out of nothing.. It seems most of the ppl doubting Umar haven't really taken their time to watch him for 90mins recently at his club instead of watching highlights...I watched this guy live at the ford field against PSG last summer...they look at his Olympics display and form an opinion instantly about him..they forget he was just a 19yrs old boy at that time..he was even our top scorer in that tournament..he made a lot of mistakes like some one of his age would which I attribute to poor decision making..that aspect of a player definitely improves with time.. I have mentioned attributes Umar has that he would bring to the team..let everyone mention what this other strikers would bring to the table compared to what we have on ground.. Umars dynamism and Unpredictability with his play, no other striker has this on the team..he also has strength, pace, dribbling.. They should please list what ideye and Aaron Samuel would bring to that striker position.. |

komekn: Statistically prove your point not with emotional ramblings, but with facts and figures.
I said it's very difficult to win the EPL back to back not totally impossible, don't misrepresent me.
There were simply better strikers. How many goals did he score with his limited opportunity 19 in 53 starts good but not good enough for Chelsea.
Tell me one striker or player that left the Bundesliga as an anonymous player that ripped the EPL or became outstanding. The pertinent core issue is not outstanding in the Bundesliga or even reserve player.
Then I will count the multitude if players who left English football to rip it in the Bundesliga. Bro sometimes your analysis seems robotic sometimes or mathematical..if A=B &B=C then A=C...football is not as simple as the way u analyse players..there are always a lot of factors that affect player performance in a club such as chemistry, team style of play..if the team you play for doesn't play to your strength, you might not excel at that club.. So we can't say because a bench warmer at EPL went to Bundesliga And started scoring means the Bundesliga is lower quality to EPL..it might just be the players that surround that striker are playing to his strength thereby making him excel in that league... |

goldfish80: With what we have on our hands currently, we need more than just a goal scorer. A guy like Kelechi can hang around the penalty area and get goals, so we have our poacher already. What I think this team lacks currently is a proper connector between the midfield and attack. This is the kind of job an Ideye or even an Aaron Samuel could bring to the table. Aaron is big and very strong on the ball, he could be an asset, moreso Ideye, if he can get his head in the game .
It takes years to train a striker. There's no way we can find a potent and clinical striker like you put it just weeks to the world cup. What do you mean it takes years to train a striker? If you have it, you have it bro..did anyone teach nacho to be a deadly finisher? He has the talent..you can always improve a striker but when u see a great striker, you know right away..the training they get only enhances what they already have..its all about talent bro.. |

goldfish80: I dont think we lack 3rd and 4th choice players. We need players who can add something straight to the first team. I suggested Ideye because he's no stranger to this team. The excuse of blending in won't be a problem.
Recall, I blew the whistle on the apparent lack of prolific goalscorers in this team but I was waved aside for being an alarmist. Jungle don dey mature, the scales are falling.
By the way, Aaron Samuel seems to be doing well of late. I will rather take him to the front lines than Umar. I'm sorry if you're offended Nothing to be offended for sir, you are only expressing your opinion...Ideye doesn't have Umars dynamism and unpredictability..they both have poor finishing in common...I doubt ideye has anything to offer this team..his hold up play and linkage is already being offered by Ighalo... As it stands, Rohr wants to use Musa has our third striker but that doesn't stop him from playing him on the wing..all this guys we are clamouring for might not make the 23man list..I really don't want Musa has our third striker,. |

goldfish80: Your direct and frank approach works for me. Umar is as average as they come as far as I'm concerned.
I cant understand why we glorify mediocrity just because one finds his way to Europe. If we are getting that desperate to go with Umar, then it should be worth considering Ideye who to say the least, can ride and survive challenges whilst standing on his feet. Umar is a very mobile forward and can retain possession also with his style of play..his finishing and decision making is not there yet but a guy like that at 21 has age on his side to improve.. Since we are looking for another forward, he offers something most of our other strikers don't have..he can be our third striker behind Ighalo and nacho..but i really do think he has something to offer this team... The only reason I think so is because of our style of play, we rely a lot on our inverted wingers, I think he could make the Nigerian side look more dangerous even thou is finishing is not there yet.. |
