But what else does Townsend havehuh

Now compare him to the players that converge good quality technical ability to Blistering pace and you see the real deal.

Gareth Bale
Mbappe
Dembele
Sana
Raheem
Neymar

Take away the pace and they become just very good players not some of the most expensive players in history of football.

I expected more depth from you to be honest.
What about debruyne sir? He doesn't have blistering pace but yet his skills and reading of the game is beyond this world!!

You can't say blistering pace is the determinant for man city winning this year....there is more to their game, no doubt blistering pace is always an edge in football if used rightly, after all according to you diabate has blistering pace, why didn't he cause man City a lot of trouble?

nobody is denying that. It was a horrible tackle no doubt but what I am saying here is that the ref not giving Matuidi a straight red isn't exactly a case of corruption as some are potraying it. TheGoodJoe's opinion here is that Matuidi had initially tried to injure Onazi, that is also my believe as a nigerian, but call out a french guy and he would tell you that there was no malice intended and he just wanted to win, doing his work as the destroyer in midfield and he could give reasons to back up his claim too. So you see that there are two sides to this same story, and whichever side the ref chooses in that particular point in time is not wrong, it was just the way the ref viewed it.

People seem to think that I am saying that the foul was fair or something, I would have sent him off if I am the ref no doubt, but the ref on the day had enough reasons not to send him off, thats the point
There is this implicit bias against African teams about our physicality, if it had been African team that made that tackle, the referee won't have hesitated to show a red card!!

Rmbr I called it implicit bias, its built in them, they themselves are not naturally self conscious of it, that's why I think the VAR system can add some fairness to the game..

They shouldn't endorse it. VAR kills the vibes in matches by unnecessary pauses that spoil the fun of the game... But on a second thought, i think it would wipe away injustice and biased officiating targeted mostly on African teams.
I'm all for any technology that would make the game transparent..especially it would expose biased officiating against African teams

There is nothing like proving his doubters wrong. No automatic spot for him in the national team. Let's see him play and score goals. Or is that not the yardstick for selecting strikers? If he is a special talent then he should start by showing that at his club.
Of course I totally agree with you, no automatic spot for him..he needs to perform at club level to get national call-ups..

The only thing I pointed out was his obvious talent and how some monikers unfairly rubbish him...he is a truly talented lad and I hope his coaches give him the games he needs to succeed and prove his doubters wrong once and for all..

Yeah, in terms of Temperatures Russia can be likened with Canada and Alaska but I cannot say for Precipitation (Rainfall).

But I believe Nike got us covered as per foot wears.
Yea I hope Nike got us covered..similar precipitation also, the jet stream from north pole is also similar to the one in russia since the earth is constantly spinning in a counter clockwise direction, also taking into account the effects of lakes around which ever city they are playing..

Most likely some days might be rainy depending on the city they would be..

I just want them to account for every possible factors that could affect player performance...I'm really hopeful for this world cup.

I don't want us to go too much into the physics of this because of the general house. I just want to drop one principle ; materials that easily absorb heat easily loss heat. Dark colours would easily absorb the heat (which would be cold temperature in the case of Russia) now losing the heat would mean the material transferring part of the heat into the human body. It doesn't directly retain the heat as you put it. What can isolate the body is maybe a particular membrane attached to the inner parts of the jerseys to insulate it from the human body. That is where the technology comes in.

It is a revers of the conditions for the light coloured Jerseys.

But no worries, cos I believe the Nike technology experts would have put all those into consideration.
I hope they put the shoes into consideration also, I'm talking about proper traction for the players cos it might rain sometimes in june and the fields become very slippery.

In the past I notice most of the shoes they wear are not properly suitable for the weather, that's why u see our players slipping sometimes during games..

I'm so sure the Chan team didn't have have the right traction shoes when they played against Morocco in the final..that would have affected their play so much, not taking away the fact that the team was generally poor..

North American weather is similar to Russian weather, both are closer to the north pole, so I expect quite a bit of rain falling in June..playing on extreme wet grass no be the same for dry grass ooo..I just hope the NFF mandate Nike to give us the right kind of shoes, don't want anything that would hinder our performance..

Watched the game Schalke vs Wolfsburg to see the potential new striker for Nigeria.

Firstly, these two teams will struggle against mid range Championship teams. That's my as some would call it English game biased opinion. The game lacked intensity and outright pace.

Osimhen came on for 10 minutes could not do anything outstanding in such little time, that's the excuse I make for him.

I will be watching Liepzig vs Augsburg on Friday evening. I expect Lookman to be outstanding in this league. That's again my biased English football based opinion.
We are glad that you can at least accept you are English football biased!! Even thou it may be sarcastic..more kudos to your elbow sir..

I am watching the game against Schalke he is on the bench.

So you think he is better than Origi huh And that Wolfsburg are being unfair to himhuh huh One game doesn't make a player, it's consistent continous top class performances that get you noticed.

When watching the game do not look at your player alone but in comparison to other players to measure his performance. That's called having a balanced objective view some here call that being biased against our players.
I never said he was better than Origi right now if you read my statement, I only made a point that wolfsburg were mandated to play Origi in at least 80% of their game....

like most young players, they need games to unleash their full potential..if he gets continuous games from the game I saw, that lad has huge potentials..from that game his style was similar to a young energetic drogba, I wish you could get to wAtch that game hannover game to see what I'm talking abt..

There was one aerial ball he contested with 2 opponent only for him to chest and control in mid-air, loosing his markers in the process..that one single act was just reminded me of drogba.. U need to rmbr knowing how to that requires a sense of perfect timing of aerial balls..

If this is true then Pinnick doesn't know what he is doing. None of these shades of green represents our Colour.

Besides, our away colour is typically white while the home colour is green.

You don't just wake up one day and change the home and away colours of a country.

In fact you may change the away colour but not the home colour.

Look at footballing nations all over the world , their home Jerseys are a symbol of their football pedigree. Look at England, Holland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Portugal, Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, France etc. Even in Africa Egypt, Cameroon, Algeria, Morocco, SA, Zambia, CIV, Mali, Ghana, Guinea, Senegal, Gabon etc. Their jerseys are their identity.

Once you see them on the pitch they are easily recognized.

Pinnick should not in the name of fashion deface our football Identity.

Green is our home Jersey and white away. For the away he can chose black if he wants. But the home Jersey must be our national Green Color.
That our new home jersey looks just like our flag..green-white-green..nothing wrong with it..with regards to the away jersey(solid dark green), too be honest it looks aesthetically better than most of our past jersies..

At least I can't wait to start ordering for those jersey, they are fashionable not some cheaply made color riot jersies we always had in the past..

Somebody compared him to Drogba.
Yea I did Oga!! Please go watch that game against hannover..his attributes is moving in that direction...I just wish his coach would be able to trust him and play him..

I know Liverpool inserted a clause in Origi's loan that he must play at least 80% of their games( I stand to be corrected)..so I understand why origi would always bench osimhen..contractual agreements need to be respected..

One thing I know for sure, if Osimhen can keep duplicating that kind of form, it won't be long b4 he starts banging goals in the bundesliga..

So 1 free kick has turn into free kicks?according to you nacho is now a free kick specialist? Your mind is already judging you who ask if you have anything against Odion ighalo? If he keeps on playing week in and out of the Chinese league sorry he will remain rohr first choice okay, you are not the coach to choose
If Rohr decides to use 3-5-2 formation, it would be difficult for Ighalo to start..in that formation, the forwards are required to be very dynamic and also put some shift in defensively!!! Doesn't sound like Ighalo to me..

However if he decides to use 4-5-1, Ighalo most like gets the nod but I wouldn't rule KC out...if KC keeps showing improvements like we have seen in his last 2 games, he might be difficult to bench because of his abilities on setpiece!!! Note I said set piece not freekick, he seems to be getting better at whooping those balls in, if u watch the last WCQ game we played against algeria, his set piece were looking very dangerous!! Now add that to the kind of confidence he is gained just by scoring that free-kick against Argentina..

Note that free-kick he scored wasn't just luck, he must have been practicing in training..

It would be difficult for Rohr to bench him if he scores from free-kick again in any of our friendlies..

yea we know Balogun is currently not fit.
I have watched this GUY play against our youth team before or is it not that same guy? i haven't really watched him of recent so i can't say if he's that "good" on the ball and faster.

Remember African football is way different from European football, if and when he wears the GWG shirt, he might come out different from how you see him at his club.

our current players (some) perform well in their various clubs but struggle while in the GWG while vice versa is to some.
You have the wrong guy bro, the guy you saw against our youth team was akpoguma not udokhai...the latter has never played against us...and FYI, udokhai is way much better than akpoguma..

The Bundesliga is that solid My good man. And it is the Second best technically proficient league in the world after LA liga and ahead of Third placed EPL.

EPL is the toughest physically and the most dramatic of all leagues. Very very competitive league I tell you.

But in terms of technical proficiency, LA liga and Bundesliga lead the way.

Osimhen should keep at it. It is just his first Bundesliga Starr and he was pretty decent when he led the front line. He can garner more games under his belt if he keeps working hard and getting better and better with each game. Lad got the potentials and like Sir TheGoodJoe would say, he belongs to a special breed of strikers/forwards rising from Nigeria that will form the League of Extraordinarily hitmen in the GWG.

It is well wink Thanks again for your brief on Osimhen. I really appreciate it.
I'm glad to contribute my lil token on our players

I am just loving your review on that lad.... good thing it us not coming from me before someone go call am hypes again... wink
He even almost scored from a cross, it was a lovely header but the goalie saved it!!! You need to see the kind of defenders he was playing against, they were all giants...

The bundesliga seem to be so strong defensively, its hard to score against any team. I watch their games on FOX sports and I get bored easily cos almost every team has very good defenders plus the formation they all use don't help matter( those formations tend to be more defensive minded)..

Too be honest I'm all for getting German FB defence( udokhai, akpoguma) for super eagles..there is just this grit about German raised defenders..

If Osimhen Ideye, Success, and Musa start firing on all cylinders, Rohr will have a major selection headache.
The Osimhen I saw against hannover looked pretty strong playing as a CF...helped his team hold up play well as the lone forward,he reminds me of drogba.. if he keeps getting games, I think he might just be our third striker..

Yup. Same here. Our boys are definitely taking advantage of this January transfer window to change their situation.

I have no idea why Kelechi Iheanacho is not being mentioned anywhere! Newcastle wanted him initially, now it looks like Newcastle would prefer to go with Slimani ... someone who hasn't started a game for Leicester since God knows when! In fact, Kelechi should fire his agent if he doesn't get even a loan move this transfer widow.

For me, I believe in fair play. This thread have been awash tagging people who play in "obscure" leagues as not good enough because of the quality of opposition they face. But here we are pumping fist in the air when Kelechi scores against the likes of Peterborough. The level of opposition does not matter when Kelechi is involved.
This is not equity to me.
