Likely line up
Uzoho Aina........Ekong......Balogun........Idowu
Ndidi.........Onazi
Kalu....................Iwobi..................Musa Ighalo
For my preferred lineup, I would rather have a natural left footer at LB..Idowu can't deliver any meaningful cross on that left back.
I would prefer Etebo to Onazi due to the formers dynamism.
Would prefer nacho or success in place of Ighalo.. |

Danielnino00: Rohr's decision to continue using Shehu at RB is plain stupidity . Shehu was only drafted to the RB role due to our lack of option in the role.. Now we have enough of them and Shehu doesn't play that role at club level.... It would be a serious disgrace to Aina if Shehu mounts that right back again. Shehu has barely played 90mins this season.. How is he going to be sharp all through..if Shehu does start, that would prove a lot of ppl's point why they call him white Onigbinde.. Shehu doesn't have the right delivery for a RB. can't make proper crosses(I know sm ppl would refer to the Zambian game where iwobi scored). He only helps keep possession along that right channel..he is not a good offensive outlet for a RB knowing this Libyan team would stay defensive a lot. Putting Shehu in the starting lineup would clearly emphasize Rohr can't move this team forward. We need a coach that can maximize the potential of all the talent we have these days.. |

enomakos: Isaac was always a striker Granada ruin him I won't say they ruined him sir, they developed another aspect of his game. Naturally he is CF...the fact he played has a winger before means he has that skill set to stretch opposition defense easily and still occupy the central defense when needed. It just makes it much harder for opposition teams to contain him. Classic example is Henry!! |

tbaba1234: Isaac Success should be given more starts in the league. Success might be the solution to our CF problem.
Iheanacho and Iwobi also showing improved form. I am telling you. He is best we have now going by his game play. I have watched all his game this season..he might have some few rough edges with his decision making but I guarantee you he is way better than Ighalo...he is much smarter with his movement upfront. I'm glad this new coach is playing him as a striker |

BascoVanVeli: Yes it suffered so much that we won an AFCON and made it to the world cup. We only have 3 AFCONs just in case you think it is beans and garri. I totally understand your unwavering loyalty to NPFL..let me ask one simple question, Should we still keep 5slots for NPFL players with the array of talents just popping everywhere? Or you think it's time to invite the best? I'm not against NPFL players but as soon as they get invited to Super Eagles, they go sign some stupid contract with back water league teams just to show they are in europe hence their invitation stops and we move on to the next 5npfl players and the cycle continues.. |

God bless Diamond Football Academy Umuahia and other Academies(GBS, AFC etc) all over Nigeria, contributing to the growth of Nigerian football. Too be honest, our real young talents are buried in all this academy not the NPFL which recycles same old legs for a very long time.. If I hear anyone mention why no NPFL player was included in the Super Eagles list!! I rmbr during the keshi days where 5slots was reserved for NPFL players..no wonder our game quality suffered so much... |

tbaba1234: The reason, many of our players fail trials is poor fundamentals at the developmental stage.
Many of these foreign born players are not more talented, they just have better foundation. That is what matters at professional level. Many of our players have to start learning again when they go abroad.
The reason why France can use a bunch of African descent players to win the WC is because they provide them with good foundation.
We need to improve youth structure and especially coaching for kids from a very young age. The under 15 coaches should be given top quality training to measure up with their counterparts abroad. Sir Tbaba you pretty much hit the nail on the head..naturally a lot of African players are talented but wrong foundation has been a serious issue...we really need to develop the game in Africa from a young age with really good coaches to give this players better foundation. We would always lag behind the world if we don't fix this issues.. We were really lucky during the 94 era that we had so many talented footballers that we looked like world beaters..sometimes how I wish someone like jayjay was brought up in europe, he would have been so unplayable, by the time he got serious, he was already reaching his late twenties...he himself confessed that a 15years old European is more knowledgeable and smarter on the field of play than a 30 years old African.. .the truth is there is more to soccer than just running around chasing ball.. |

Kog45: Ighalo just an average striker not debatable and really pointed out the weakness of our entire team.
Thank God Musa raised his game, not happy with Iheanacho overall performance too.
Rohr need to put more searchlight on Nigeria players especially strikers.
Hope to see improved Iheanacho this season cos am seeing Awoniyi, Sadiq, and Osimhen coming for the role though depends on their performance this season.. Iheanacho was even poorer than Ighalo in overall play in this tournament but we rmbr Ighalo cos of his terrible misses, nacho would have gotten the same treatment if he missed that same way..the emotions that runs through your body when your team is about to score is huge so also are the misses...that's why Ighalo gets the stick..if nacho had a good hold up play, do you think Ighalo would get minutes in russia?? So far nacho keeps hugging the bench at his club, he would not really deliver for nigeria..my hope right now is on sadiq and awoniyi cos they are true target men with good hold up play and average finishing.. Nacho has really good finishing but other part of his game is just poor or underdeveloped!! That dude really needs to start clocking 90minutes at his club to improve every other aspect of his game.. |

BascoVanVeli: How can you even compare the 2? Musa brought the ball down while Ighalo attempted a first time volley. But even if you are using Musa's goal do you think it was easy? It was a moment of brilliance. That's why I said he should take the extra control then finish..I hope you do know that ball he missed was barely 10yards out.. We were already complaining about Ighalo b4 this world cup started that he is not proficient in front of goal and he didn't disappoint at all... |

goldfish80: The difficulty level required to execute the task was not the same. Only very few players would have scored that goal Ighalo missed under the same circumstance , that's the bitter truth. Bro why are you making excuses for him...what about Musa that scored his first goal against iceland..wasn't that more difficult, controlling in mid-air then finishing.. The reality is that ighalos's miss was not a difficult one for a dangerous striker...the question you should ask is why didn't he use the inside of his legs to shoot for accuracy instead of just slamming the bAll...it just tells me he has zero composure.. If he thinks he can't score in mid air why not take one extra control then shoot.. I play this game bro and I understand the anxiety level at the world cup is high but part of being a seasoned professional is having that last second composure to finish not rushing it...well I guess he is just an average striker then.. |

But one thing we all remember is that goal against Spain..Oliseh is always praised till today.. goldfish80: It is called selective criticism. As much as Nigerians want to kill Ighalo for the infamous miss, the gospel truth is that the miss against Argentina will not rank inside the top 10 miss of the tournament. off the top of my head, Lukaku, Thomas Muller, Keane, those Peruvian strikers had more guilt edge misses much more worse than Ighalos. Bro those misses were painful because those goals if he had scored them really mattered..those guys you are mentioning score goals for their countries when it matters... The only goal Ighalo scored for us when it matters was against cameroun!!! Any player that always score for his country when it matters would always be praised to the high heavens and vice versa!!! |

BascoVanVeli: That still makes no sense at all. The father was in his life no matter how you word it. He has no tangible reason to treat that man like he is doing. Even his mother should not be treated like that. LeBron James mother was an heroin addict but he never turned his back on her. Even if she bin dey beat am, haba that boy must to go and repent. Honour thy mother and father.
Divorces are up in the country because we have lost our ways. Morality has been abolished. It has nothing to do with travelling to make money because if it was so we would have been divorcing before oyibo.
Dele will have his own children one day and abi him na football player werr go miss him pikin school play also. I agree with you he has no right to treat his father that way but you are talking from the perspective of a kid that was raised in nigeria..in this part of the world, you need to constantly build relationship with your kids or else you might loose them.. |

komekn: I wish i could talk more about this.
The DYNAMICS of parenting here are totally different from Nigeria.
In Nigeria we feel PROVISION is the core requirement to parenting in England RELATIONSHIP is. If you do not nurture, guard and encourage relationship. You will loose your children. In Nigeria they will still feel obligation to you maybe even love you, even when you only see them once a year.
It may because , there is already GOVERNMENT PROVISION for most things, so then you have to give more and invest your time in your relationship bonding and appreciation. This is another reason our marriages are failing like never before as well. In Nigeria it is normal and acceptable to be working in Abuja while your family is in Uyo. Again you are looking for PROVISION
Unfortunately, this is something many of our guys do not appreciate when living in the west, that model does not work here.
Add to that the identity crisis of being mixed race , the adoption and expectations anchored on eurocentric norms and values, how then do you expect a child to be Afro-centric when Daddy is chasing £££ 24/7 to build house in Lekki 1 , etc The crown that despair with being put into the care system as LAC, then insult to injury with a white family. Meanwhile Daddy is the US with new wife and your Mum has had her parental rights removed because of alcahol addiction.
Finally, what are the most formative years in a persons life, i would say the teenage ones. My own example highlghts the matter.
My Father, woke up one morning and said Megwuno oooh, my pikin don turn Oyibo finis, quick action i was stoned direct flyte to Warri for high school, in boarding house. Now i am Made in Warri but born in UK . Too be honest after reading some of Sir Kog45 and Sir Komekn situation regarding dele ali, I'm just surprised why his father didn't step up when he was put in the care system...he could have taken him to the states... One thing I know for sure is kids that are in care systems are always badly damaged emotionally and physiologically...that might be where Dele got so much grief for his parents..the formative years are usually around that 11-16years...I guess his dad was missing at that crucial time.. |

Joebie: Pique’s hands was clearly above his head, and adjudged to have done it deliberately. I remember one of SS panelists saying what I said here earlier that it’s natural to raise your hands when u jump to head the ball, however in our case, Rojo’s arms were not above his head. It was clearly not deliberate. Come to think of it, why would he head the ball to his own arms? He mistimed that ball...that was all his fault..the rule is the rule thou..so far your hand is in unnatural position, you risk a pk.... |

To any one that doubted we should have had a second penalty against argentina, wasn't it the same situation with Pique when Spain played against Russia...
Does referee have double standards when making this hand balll in the box call..the rule is simple if your hands are in unnatural position inside the 18yard box...its a PK...that rule applied to pique today Don't understand why it didn't apply to Rojo..I guess it was more beneficial to keep Argentina in the world cup..
Watching today's game just brought back that memory...I'm just getting frustrated at how things went against us.. |
