Icon4s: I am not disputing the fact that it was very poor goalkeeping but he is just trying to exaggerate it.
Enyeama did almost the same thing against Messi in the last World Cup and he would rather defend that one and then call this one by Akpeyi a blunder. Comparing this free-kick to messi's free-kick is like comparing a Ferrari to a fiat punto..all messi's free-kick have power, dip and curl..those 3 combinations are difficult for any gk so I could make a case for Enyeama..and perhaps that messi's fk went over the wall and not the area covered by Enyeama..how many keepers in the world can truly even save that fk by messi.. |

Icon4s: A blunder is not just a mistake or error. It is more like an unpardonable mistake, or a stupid mistake.
In order words it is worse than a mistake or error.
When you first posted that video I was even thinking he mistakenly threw a ball into his own net or mistakenly threw a ball straight to an opponent who now scored and stuffs like that.
I had to watch that video to the end still waiting for the blunder. If a GK at 30 doesn't know how to position well for a free-kick that far, you can't train it out of him.you can't teach old dogs new tricks.. and in all your e experience sir, would you expect this kind of stupid mistakes from a supposedly world cup goalie? Even the first goal he conceded makes him look bad..it should be difficult for any good Gk to be beaten from 25yards out..I know some shots have power, curl and dip..this goal doesn't even come close..please this guy would be our downfall at the world cup if he starts.. |

Joebie: Shaky legs.. And this is the goal keeper we some are sticking their heads for in russia..what's the difference between the one he conceded against Argentina and this one, misjudging freekicks, bad positioning, guessing like its a pk being taken..in fact both goals he conceded was all bad positioning.. We are in serious trouble if this guys starts games for us in russia.. |

Mujtahida: The guy chop bench from the SA match through to the double header against Cameroun. He wasn't even invited for the match against Zambia. In Algeria he resumed as Bench manager with one of his assistants Nwakaeme on the pitch while Agbo continued to assist him on the bench.
In Russia, in the land of Putin, where the Russian Bear howls at night, he continued as Bench manager but this time for forty five minutes only. He came into the game in the second half and sang a song with his legs titled 'Rohr don't take me back to no bench'. The track is most likely to be released in Russia by June this year. Watch out! What a poetic way to say this..this really cracked me up.. |

Kog45: Bengine, pls try and study US 94 team very well then you would not have fear if Mikel is not available and tbaba1234 said something about Iwobi as a replacement, very good option.
If you look at US 94 team in our group stage Siasia was picked ahead of natural midfielders and he did the job very well.
I think Rohr should have a formation that will not involved Mikel in case of anything.Westerhoff did this at US 94 without Okocha in our first three matches. But we tried this against south Africa and algeria away, we failed woefully to control and manage those games well..sometimes those games seemed like its my Sunday-Sunday beer league team playing..lool!!! No quality to the play on the aforementioned games.. |

Mujtahida: Don't worry about who will be in the first eleven. Look at the Bench and rejoice. Some matches will be won from the bench. Remember against Zambia, Iwobi came from the bench and ramped up our attacking firepower. Against Argentina, Idowu and Ebuehi came from the bench and fortified the defence and added bite to the attack.
Look at our bench and rejoice not like in 2014 where you'd look at the bench and see Rastaman Uchebo and Ruben Gabriel Correct point.. |

Mujtahida: Whatever position he's played in for his club that has earned him plaudits should be the position he should play for the Super Eagles. But as per his energy I think a box to box midfielder is perhaps his best position. Let him carry his energy everywhere. It's like some children with good bustling energy. If you restrict their movement too much they become dull and sometimes they fall sick. Allow dem yawo and they'd be happy.
I want our players to be happy as they play. That's one secret weapon that can make our game deadly, free and spontaneous. Beautiful chaos or organised ruthlessness. Any one, we dey. Well this is the headache Rohr is gonna have, now who do u play in the starting 11!! I know for sure, whoever goes to the bench naa quality player.. |

Kog45: Mikel Agu?not convincing so far in Eagles GWG.
I think Rohr just have to do justice to the midfield cos for now we have three untouchable,MIKEL,NDIDI,ONAZI but Ogu had Algeria and Argentina match going for him irrespective of any midfielder form in his club.
.....now we are having Etebo back in a great form in LA liga and also a talented Joel Obi is back and also Mikel Agu which means the midfield is a war zone and only performance in eagles jersey would determines who is going to make it especially between Etebo,Ogu,Agu and Joel Obi. With all this midfielders we have, its only Mikel that can truly play amf well and dictate the pace of the game..what about if mikel gets injured in the tournament..then we loose our ability to control any game.. |

Mujtahida: I'm so thrilled about Etebo's performance.I read he was the MOTM in a game that had Messi, Rakitic, Iniesta, Paulinho. I'd quite put him down as one who might not make the cut to Russia but he seems to be blooming in Spain.
But is it that Rohr has not found a way to utilise this guy? Cos in the SE, he seems to be jack of all trades, master of none. The ANS article says he's been deployed as CM, AM, LW so far for Las Palmas. And these are the positions he's played in the Super Eagles. The only match he really shone was the match against Algeria in Uyo. Since he's been flat. Awful against SA and lost against Algeria in our last WCQ match.
Etebo is Amokachi. Let Rohr find a way to unleash his energy.
Our midfield is full of so many options for Rohr. I am happy that we have Joel Obi coming in for the friendlies. Whatever happens abeg let John Ogu go to this WC. Sentiments abi? But it's justified abeg. The guy need am. Agu can wait. He was jack of all trades in that game against barcelona!! Did u think ppl were exaggerating when they said he covered every blade of grass!! I think we should not give him that amf responsibility, that puts significant pressure on him...he should be used as box2box midfielder..this is one headache Rohr is gonna have to deal with.. |

So, all those chaps you listed could make the team. So which forward should he drop sir? Let me list our most likely forwards. Ighalo Iheanacho Simon Moses Musa Iwobi Ideye/henry/sadiq/awoniyi/osimhen/blazer(the last option is open to anyone that hits form) |

After worldcup, we're surely going to be having enough U25 goal keepers with experience and if I were him, I would have started the journey yesterday. Alampasu should have at least find a loan deal even in portugese 3rd div..at least we could have use that yardstick to measure between him and Uzoho..not playing at all might have destroyed his chances of making this year's world cup.. |

TheSuperNerd: Chief na Arch guardian of the esteemed halls of experience naa.... he must protect the interests of experience at all costs most especially concerning that goalie position.
You cannot blame Chief really... only if Sir Tbaba1234 will make himself available for just one friendly game after which we can make him no.1 in Russia.... Tbaba is a world class goalie abi you haven't heard?.... Of course you haven't... it is classified info.
But thing is he is the super educated type and is so busy with top collar jobs... So much talent and we cannot have him now until the summer...... It is well.... Lol..the problem I have is the experienced gk in our current national team are not even great and they are not even exposed to the level of game required from a goalie at the world cup...any goalie he picks would be our best risk as you have rightly said... I do really trust Rohr to pick the best, nothing has indicated he is biased just like our Nigerian coaches..but he seems to gravitate towards younger players.. |

realpoacher: Oga you all should stop complaining about Uzoho's clip. I believe that you of all people should know that you don't judge a keeper by the goals he conceded only as that doesn't tell true picture.
Do you want me to show clips of goals conceded only of top keepers worldwide?... Starting from Jorge Campos, Oliver Kahn, Dida, Casillas, Great Edwin Van Der Saar, Almighty De gea, Neur, Peter Cech,...? All of them, from their goals conceded only, they look amateurish! Every keeper looks incompetent at any goal he concedes... FACT!
To judge a keeper from clips, you have to see he saves and goals conceded.
Coming to Uzoho, this is a keeper with 10 clean sheets out of 15 games. You didn't ask for clips of his saves from the cleansheets matches, rather you asked for the goals he conceded and you are judging him from that.
Newsflash,.. I will take a goal keeper who let's in a goal in 1350 minutes of football /divide by 9 goals conceded, which is an average of 150 minutes to the world cup anyday anytime especially when the keeper is a young lad because he can improve on his mistake.
I am terribly disappointed about you and every other adult casting doubts because of the clips of Uzoho posted here. With all your experience and age in watching football, you don't know a good keeper when you see one.
As good as Peter Cech is, I have seen him concede goals that I wonder WTF
I have seen Courtoise conceded goals severally and I wonder where he went AWOL to.
Give the young man a break.
In the whole top 5 leagues in Europe, they are no African keepers in the top flight. It tells you something is wrong somewhere, but not that Africans are not good in terms of goalkeeping... No!.. Rather it tells you that something else apart from ability is wrong.
Yet here is a small boy trying to break barriers to get to the top and all you do instead of acknowledging his efforts so far is to berate him.
I repeat! Give him a break! We know Icon4s always had preference for experience and to be honest, the gk area needs an experienced capable hand which we lack currently in our national team..but the way he is going about it seems to want to tarnish the young man. Any goal keeper would look bad if u are just looking at goals conceded, let us see his saves and come into conclusion.. While at it, let us do the same thing for Ezenwa and Ajiboye..no need using national team highlights..let us use club side and be on a level playing field..I doubt current npfl is better than a Spanish div3 league.. |

Kog45: My mam hope you saw Ajiboye's saves against Sudan and Ezenwa against Angola, pls be sincere can Uzoho do it especially against Sudan.
I just hope Uzoho come good. I saw the saves Ajiboye made and they were great...the only reason I wasn't fully sold on Ajiboye was the way he saves..high quality GK make saves and not parry balls into opponent path..this was heavily in display against morocco, thou I did avoid saying anything about it then..high quality gk would save and parry to a non dangerous spot, this is where awareness comes in, I really didn't see that in Ajiboye..I'm sure he has aerial crossing issues also, that weakness wasn't really exploited.. With regards to Ezenwa, all you need is some quality cross into the box and Ezenwa is no where to be found, at the world cup, most of our opponents would try to explore this..even Enyeama at his best still bowed to one of those quality crosses from France..its easy for everyone to say Ezenwa did well against cameroun knowing fully well he wasn't truly tested same as Uzoho in the second half against Argentina. The kind of players that were crossing at wafu,Chan and even npfl is totally different from the kind of crosses you would get at the world cup. I really want to see all our gk tried at a higher level b4 I can have faith in any of them..for now, naa long thing we dey.. |

TheSuperNerd: Hahahahahahahahaha..... Wow! Coming from you Icon79?! But you were sky-high in confidence saying Uzoho is your choice to be our starting GK at the mundial. Lol.... Sir Tbaba1234's small dossier on goals conceded by Uzoho come make you change mind sharp sharp.... Chaaaiiiiii.... Oga mii.... Check that confidence level oooo... Lol.
Please, Sir Tbaba only posted Uzoho's downtimes naa..... Something Chief Icon4s wanted to see too.... Uzoho is not Superman and neither is he unbeatable between the sticks. He is also still growing and is just 19 naa... Abi? So relax... He is still the same Francis Uzoho with bags of top class potential which made Deportivo throw him into the deep against Eibar in the LA liga. Also, most of those goals conceeded were from way back before the Spanish article described Uzoho of now as a young goalie who learns in a week what it takes a month for others to learn. The coaches at Deportivo hace seen this lad grow into a top prospect indeed and the Uzoho of now is not the same of five or six months ago.
I know we are in a dicey situation as regards our goalies.... Lol... But fact is we must make a choice after all... Hopefully it be the best choice. More like the "best risk"
I knew that a meltdown will happen once Sir Tbaba posted the clips of Uzoho's mishaps and goals conceeded from months back.... But I didn't expect Icon79 to go into 180 degrees turn around of absolute meltdown...... He dey even ask for nationality switch for any available top flight goalie not going to world cup.... Hahahahahahahahaha..... . Omo, Bros... You dey funny I swear... Hahahahahahahahaha....
I will pay more attention to the stats that shows Uzoho had kept quite an astonishing good amount of clean sheets from a good number of games... 11 shut outs in 17 in all... Come on... Rohr seems to have made his choice to place his trust in this big young lad. Hopefully he steps up to the challenge....
But for the comments of fear and uncertainty following those clips ehn.... Chaaiiiiiiii..... Una meltdown crack me up pass...
#Holymeltdown....Hahahahahahahahaha Funny enough I knew this was a trap set by Sir Icon4s when he asked Sir Tbaba1234 to post the video..any goalie can look really terrible when u start seeing goals they concede, its better to show both saves and conceded goals to get an overall judgement.. Truly tall goal keepers struggle with low shots, he would have to work pretty hard to overcome this..I really want to see Uzoho in the friendlies to see improvements he has made....I'm not truly sold on any of our goalies..the friendlies will determine who is ready.. |
