FamilyTwin Sisters Gave Birth On Same Day by benlay(op): 9:04am On Jul 28, 2012
Zaakira Mitchell, left, and Shaakira White, twin sisters who gave birth on the same day. WOLO-TV image.

Zaakira Mitchell and Shaakira White, both 20, didn’t plan to get pregnant within weeks of each other, nor did they ever expect to become mothers on the same day. But on July 24, that is exactly what happened.

Mitchell, whose due date was July 26, elected to be induced July 24 and arrived at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina, accompanied by her twin sister.

White, due on August 16, had scheduled a check-up that day and told her doctor she had been having contractions that morning.

“We checked to make sure she wasn’t going into early labor. Well, not only was she going into early labor, she was five to six centimeters dilated,” said Dr. David Ferguson, who was both physician to both sisters.

White, who had gone to the hospital to support her sister, was soon being prepared for a cesarean section.
“The whole thing was very exciting. All of a sudden all this family who had been there for Zaakira were suddenly there for Shaakira as well,” said Dr. Ferguson.

HealthBrain Objectifies Women As Body Parts, Men As Whole by benlay(op): 10:17pm On Jul 26, 2012
LINCOLN, Neb. (CBS St. Louis) — A recent study finds that our brain objectifies women as different body parts, while viewing men as a whole.

The study, published in June’s European Journal of Social Psychology, was conducted by Sarah Gervais, a psychology professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

She conducted experiments by presenting 227 participants of the study with images of men and women, finding that men were perceived as a “global” – or whole – cognitive processing level, while women were seen on a “local” cognitive processing level.

Car TalkRe: Nigeria’s Driver’s License Accepted In The USA by benlay(m): 4:24pm On Jul 14, 2012
MD will accept the DL if you have your driving records from FRCS and it's endorsed by the Nigeria High commision in Washington DC or any of the other two consulates in the US, when I tried to get my license in MD, thatz what they told me, even with this new one, they would most likely ask for same.

I know the policy would not last, I just discussed this with a friend few weeks ago.
CareerRe: What Are The Realities Of Living Abroad Today? by benlay(m):
@ poster, some busybody said anything less than a Master's degree for you is a joke, even if it takes you somewhere it won't take you far. Gbaam!
I know someone with an LPN diploma with two years experience, she makes more than $70K/annum.......someone just sit in front of computer and posted rubbish. I have lived in three of US major cities viz; NY, DC and Chicago city, I have seen a lot.
CareerRe: What Are The Realities Of Living Abroad Today? by benlay(m): 6:53pm On Jul 07, 2012
What exactly does "Relevant Course" mean to you?
I guess it's your nature not to admit when you are wrong and only try to defend it. If you are still talking about the US job market, a Master's degree is an icing on a cake, my friend is a VP in a publishing company in LI,NY he has a Bachelor's degree. Stop misleading people, you are not even a job seeker, you only know people who are. Come on!
CareerRe: What Are The Realities Of Living Abroad Today? by benlay(m): 6:24pm On Jul 07, 2012
I couldn't care less about you. Focus on the topic and spend less time focusing on yourself.
That's all you've been doing since your initial post lol
From what you posted what showed that anything less than a Master's degree is a joke? That was my bone of contention.
You were rude that was why I responded that way and you would not see it, I did not insult you in anyway, read my initial post.
CareerRe: What Are The Realities Of Living Abroad Today? by benlay(m): 6:06pm On Jul 07, 2012
You think I don't know you, yet you're making an assertion about me.
Seriously, where were you when your mates were in school for their higher education?
It seems like I'm conversing with a teenage boy.
Infact, you've yet to tell us why my posts lack credibility but all you've been doing is redirecting your posts at my person lmao.
I previously made a credible state that you've neglected and refused to give attention; Now would be the best time.
what do you know about me? I need someone to help me rewrite your last post, I could not make a meaning of it.
CareerRe: What Are The Realities Of Living Abroad Today? by benlay(m): 5:55pm On Jul 07, 2012
You're throwing tantrums. You're not credible enough to think my posts lack credibility.
I know job seekers and what they want from new graduates and employees.
All I ask you to do is to get more education. Simple.
LOL....You don't know me, you don't know what I've got. How old are u if I may ask? because you don't understand how to communicate properly in English lang. you disdainfully asked me "Where were you when your mates were going to school for their higher education?" and you thought that was not disrespectful? You still have more years ahead of you, listen to yourself....."I know job seekers and what they want from new graduates and employees"
CareerRe: What Are The Realities Of Living Abroad Today? by benlay(m): 5:43pm On Jul 07, 2012
Irrelevant tantrum.
I was def not disrespecting you. If you thought that was disrespect, then you're up for a rude awakening.

This still applies to your response, buddy.
You know you are not credible enough to advise anyone here cos even though you live in the US you don't know what's going on, you only read headlines. You need help.
Where were you when your mates were going to school for their higher education?
Even though some on this thread are trying to claim that it depends on what you study, if you were competing with another (who has higher degrees and the same number of experience as you) for the same job, he's going to get it.
A bachelor degree will merely get you past the door.
Who were you talking to? have you looked up my profile? e ma wo omo elenu eye yi, you think you could disrespect everyone on this forum just bc you do not see your ugly face? You are so parochial about everything, so myopic and you want to advise people all the time, you need help girl!
CareerRe: What Are The Realities Of Living Abroad Today? by benlay(m): 3:07am On Jul 07, 2012
Like I said, anything less than a master degree is a joke. Even if it gets you somewhere, it won't get you far.
You need to stop putting out wrong info. you don't have to post on every topic, I log on Nairaland at least four times daily, i just read some headlines and some posts.
You don't know what you don't know. PERIOD! Saying anything less than a Master's degree is a joke is a fallacy and it's such misleading, I would advise you to slow down.

PoliticsRe: US Cuts Demand For Nigerian Crude by benlay(m): 4:27pm On May 28, 2012
It's so pathetic where Nigeria will soon find heerself, I was in Dubai & Abu Dhabi just three weeks ago, you need to see what UAE has been able to achieve with their 'oil money', they have invested so much in Tourism and Hospitality and other sectors, they are even making so much money from that;
check these out, Tallest building in the World, Biggest acquarium in the world, First 7 star hotel in the world, 5 star Emirates airlines, biggest shopping mall in the world, Sunset Safari, the biggest/tallest standing hotel in the world, the tallest residential building in the world etc. People pay money to see and visit these places. I think the US might be right, the State called Nigeria will be history by 2015
Nigeria has not invested all the proceeds from oil on anything but stealing & corruption. People still think we should stay as one country, i don't think so

FamilyRe: Am I Supposed To Pay For My Wedding? by benlay(m): 5:43pm On May 03, 2012
You don't have to 'pay' (like a magga,lol).....wedding is just a ceremony, you should be more focused on what would happen after that 'one day' (wedding day) but if you have a kind of a picture on how you want your wedding day to look like, then I would support my husband to be, note this-you are not paying nor helping but you are supporting, please get that off your mind.

The judge. You are welcome!
RomanceRe: I Am A Single Mum. Can I Still Find True Love? by benlay(m): 8:40am On Apr 07, 2012
I will tell you this, try and stay away from single guys as much as possible, it takes a big maturity for a single/young guy to 'really' fall in love with a single mom, before i was married i used to say i can't marry a single mom, but with more experience over time, i found out that most single moms out there are caring, i can tell u that categorically.
Focus on older men, probably a divorcee or a widowed man also single dads could work too, guys that have never been married before or had no kid(s) might not be able to handle a lot of things very maturely.
There are some folks out there that would read my post and say it's all rubbish, trust me i know what I'm saying.
Good luck, mother Africa, don't give up on love, there is a man out there for you, just don't be desperate.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Will Eventually Break Written By Femi Fani-kayode by benlay(m): 4:08pm On Jan 29, 2012
who is out there that is better than the other except for a slowpoke in person of GEJ, lol
If this is new stance, and we all agreed with him, why not? what is cheap popularity about this? My people need to wake up to reality.
GEJ has not got the balls to take a decision on way forward, he is confused like 'two left shoes'. I think Nigeria will break, the US is ready and has predicted this, idk if we'll be able to hang on till 2015 though.
