did he actually say this? for real? He is slow because he is bereft of ideas. Now let's see what Nigerians got. |
woodcook:you never wanna be a Yoruba? you will be a terrible Yoruba if u had been one. When you try to show others' weakness/fault, you are indirectly showing yours. |

It's so pathetic when some folks come here and post what they do not know, fuel/gas is a natural resources and Nigeria is one of the few countires that is blessed with it. The subsidy came in place when 'government' put people in place to sabotage the refineries so we could start/keep importing fuels to the country. I will give you an instance -Libya (one of OPEC members) Petrol is very cheap in Libya, which compensates for all the above costs: one of the cheapest in the world. Some tourists find it "bizarre" that alcohol-free beer costs 5 Libyan dinars, when 10 litres of petrol cost 2 Libyan dinars. As in any other country, imported goods are generally more expensive than goods produced locally. Petrol : 20p a litre (0.20 LYD). Diesel : 15p a litre (0.15 LYD). Update: (March 2011): Libya has slashed petrol prices in Libya by 25%. The price of one litre of petrol is now 15 pence, down by 5 pence from 20 pence. http://www.temehu.com/Prices.htm Based on the above, 100 pence make one GBP,so 15 pence is about N37.50, a litre of petrol is sold for less that N40 in Libya, people what are we saying? GEJ has been talking, i understand, he did not start the problem but if he wants to solve it, removing the subsidy is not the first thing to do, we should have more refineries in place and get the old ones working then no one should even be talking about subsidy in the first place. May God punish all these people that drove us and left us at the juncture. ![]() |
i imagined how this made the front page, Highlander is an SUV, H. Accord is car, dhaw! |
Senegal struck twice in the first half and hung on for a 2-1 win over Nigeria during a group A encounter on Tuesday n night in Tangiers. The match started off at a sluggish pace as the teams were slow out of the blocks and played at an almost pedestrian pace. The monotony broken in 34th minute by a Kara Mbodji’s looping header from a delivery on the left flank. There was much between the two sides at that stage although the lanky Khaliloulah Seck had started controlling the midfield threading threatening balls to the flanks. The goal allowed the Senegalese to settle into a rhythm and they were lively and rattled the Nigerians. Long balls played into the Senegalese box intended for the Nigerian forwards were cut off by the taller defenders. In the 42nd minute Abdoulaye Sane went on a mazy run and his shot on target was blocked but fortunately bounced back to him to side foot past Muniru Ajiboye at his near post for Senegal’s second goal. A shell-shocked Nigeria upped their game and went close with header from Gbolahan Salami. There had been not much in the way of quality before the goals but second half brought about better football. Stephane Badji let go a powerful volley but Ajiboye acrobatically tipped it away for a corner. A few minutes after that Nigeria strung some neat passes venturing into Senegal penalty box but the final shot sailed wide. In the 49th minute a through ball played towards Senegalese goal brought about a chase and Daniel Uchechi managed to push the ball underneath goalkeeper Ousmane Mane as he rushed out. It was the Nigerians in ascendancy and they peppered the opposition’s goal looking for the equalizer with Kayode Orlarenwaju and substitute Marshal Odah probing from the wings. One such move had saw Salami break through into the box but took the wrong option when he went for goal instead of setting up his fellow waiting strikers. At the other end Badji ‘s pace and power was troubling Ewoma Ojobo and in the 68th minute he almost increased his team’s lead with a hard shot that was tipped on to the cross bar by Ajiboye and it bounced back into play. The lively pattern of the second half continued with both sides really going for it, keeping the two goal-minders busy. As the legs got tired both sides missed glaring opportunities with substitute Romeric Lopy side footing straight into Ajiboye’s hands from a few meters out and at the other end a miss-controlled effort from Salami allowed the ball past the upright as he tried to divert it into goal. The brave effort by the two teams to get more goals ran out of time and at the final whistle it was Senegal celebrating after picking up their first three points with a game against Morocco’ still to come and Nigeria now plays Algeria in their final group game on Friday 2nd December in Marrakech. http://www.cafonline.com/competition/caf-u-23-championship_2011/news/12163-senegal-beat-nigeria-to-claim-first-win.html |
Fashola would not have been able to go to a University if all schools charge the same amount Law students will have to pay now in LASU, it's a shame. I see poverty raging more and more if this system is sustained. Nigerians should learn to vote for 'the person' rather than 'the party'. |
, that reminds me of 'Alawiye' a Yoruba textbook that we read in primary school, lol, the US Congress nor the US government is not planning to censor the internet, folks should be fast to hear and think and be slow to talk. Common people! |
without the right to bear arms, see my people. I know there are lots of 'animal called man' among us |
mobile internet has caused more troubles in Nigeria, can't imagine peeps come on forum like this to prove what's not, 'what's fatal accident, what is serious accident'. Genius get life! |
I don't know what the noise is all about, 2015 is the year we're waiting on, Nigeria will break, PERIOD We don't need to keep fooling ourselves, how can we have people of different cultures, values, religion and complete different orientation to stay together as one country, we need to face man, not bc i'm not living in Nigeria but it's the truth. |
It you find yourself in darkness, there is no way you would be able to see, he was in darkness, he could not see, some people locked him inside the dark room and kept the key, it's so pathetic that such people kill others when they choose to die. When my people say 'may God deliver us from darkness', this is one example, ignorance and stupidity. |
Greatest Nigerian! , offend him and see. he does not forgive, just saying, if Gani Fawehinmi were to be alive i'd have gone for him. |
Nigeria- the sinking titanic. All our institutions have failed. so pathetic, ![]() |
@ Kulutempa, you are one in a million, keep doing your thing. I doffed my hat for you. some peeps are so parochial in their thoughts, |
I don't know why some folks come out here and think they are smarter than others, one posted the 'gullibles are fooled again, ' If these developments are not happening now when will they happen, New York City Metro began in 1904 (over 100 years ago), let's keep doing the right things, we'll get there. |
babakb:PERIOD! NO MORE POSTS ON THIS TOPIC. NL should just read these posts by others. |
We've been told that there would be no country called Nigeria by 2015 now i believe that, there is no more basis for us to still live as one country. PERIOD! People of 'completely' different believes, culture & tradition, and religion can NEVER live together as one country. We continue to push it, tie it, mend it, now it's obvious it's 'unfixable', so pathetic. One region that contributes 0% to the treasury benefits more that other regions from the treasury, it does not work like that. Do people still write 'Long Live Nigeria' these days? |
all4naija:are u for real? did u just say that? u kidding, |
NIGERIA IS IT! We knew MKO Abiola was murdered, we want to know 'em, how could a person be standing trial for murder for 12 years. Shame of a nation, the judiciary is 'sick'. The system is pathetic, |
i would not talk about possibility, but to discipline a child comes in different methods, flogging could be used once in a while , ![]() |
it's so pathetic how some people leave there own issues and mind others doing there thing and then you gonna bring Ruggedman into this? wow! Ruggedman is already behind the curve. Ruggedman is confused like two left shoes. Please folks get busy, |
Several female students of Imo State University, IMSU, Owerri, living in hostels located close to the Anglican Bishop’s court, were mercilessly robbed and raped by dare devil armed robbers last Wednesday. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/07/robbers-rape-varsity-students/ |
People Deceiving People! what a 'Joke of the Year', somebody needs to remind Silverbird of this category. somebody wants to be heard anyway. |
Claremont, how old are u? Life is a ladder, u can't jump the rungs, only u would know if 'Love does exist". No one will tell you, keep doing your thing dude. Has it happened to u before? depression, loneliness & bitterness is the taste of it. You would answer this question in 10 years' time son. |
these mtfs come to NY and see 'for sale' on vehicles everywhere, how does that affect a busy and working government? i'm losing hope daily about the state called Nigeria |
lol, i asked one question dude. |
Even though i'm outside the country , i still keep in touch with happenings in Nigeria by listen to Wazobia FM, Rhythm FM, Cool FM, and Radio Lagos online, but still i can't do without Nairaland everyday, just wondering why others like about 'Nairaland' or betterstill what NL think about nairaland. |
someone posted Nigeria means 'Nigga area', that's not correct, it's 'Niger Area'. |
are u guys serious? i mean Nigeria is really sick, it might take a few years but i see this country breaking down, North will go her way, South will and all this bs will stop. Kidnapped Corps members? damn! |
