Even Mexicans find it difficult to cross how much more a black man
i think you're right bro.most people commenting here about Mexico have not been to Mexico and are just getting all their info through hearsay.Imagine someone saying that a professional in Mexico gets $140/month.i bet he doesn't know the true definition of a minimum wage which he got from google. That amount is below the Mexican minimum wage and just like in every other country the minimum wage is mostly for the unskilled/school drop outs and the most funny thing is that apart from their salaries these type of people in Mexico receives annual benefits totalling about $4,000 with lots of credit facilities/social securities for houses, cars and free medication.I also forgot to mention how the employers have to advertise and advertise with lots of concerts even promising free foods and transportation just to entice workers, now compare that with Nigeria.I have lived in both countries and can categorically tell you that it is only a drunk who would compare Mexico with Nigeria!

How many U.S states border the Mexico ??
You can also fence the grande prairie ??

OK, let not talk about coming through the desert, let's talk about crossing through the check point at the border, what documents do you provide when crossing the check point ??
for you to enter the US from Mexico through the check point at the border, you must have a valid US visa or a border card B1/B2 visa or thereabout which is so easy to get most times for a 10years validity

Nigeria is 100 times better than Mexico.
I drive for 20 minutes to get into Mexico from California USA.
I've been to Mexico for more than 30 times, there is nothing there, one of the nurse at the dental clinic i go to showed me her pay check, can you believe she earns $140 every month ?? That's like how much a cleaner makes everyday here in America.
Mexicans do come to America illegally, through the desert.
The only reason you wanna go to mexico is to sneak into the USA, once you're in Mexico, you're already in USA, you can come in at any time
when you say Nigeria is 100× better than Mexico what do you really mean?please explain. Is Mexico a shit hole when compared to the US,maybe but to compare it with Nigeria, you must be joking

And like I said, it's up to us to clean up our house and formulate the best economic and financial policies for us, not the portfolio investors with zero care for us and our welfare..

Portfolio investors crying all over the place because they want to make a quick buck, but who cares, physical investors are still entering Nigeria and setting up shops daily and creating jobs.

Procter and gamble, the world's largest manufacturer of consumer products just expanded into Lagos with another huge manufacturing plant, this is there 3 plant after Ogun and Oyo state plants and many more are making the same moves. This is the economic power of 150 million people. This is what we need, not portfolio investors and currency speculators.

We are not under any kind of illusion that things are going to be rosy within a year or even 2 after the rot, pillage and decay we just suffered in the last 16 years and in particular, the last 5 years..

We survive when oil was selling for less so what's your point.
guy relax, your emotions are high but it has NOTHING to do with the VALUE of the naira.Who doesn't want something good for his country? In fact I want the price of a naira to be equal to the US dollar but the point here is that the naira is already devalued, the law of economics says that the policy of pegging the price of the a currency leads to a disaster and so it will inevitably be unless the President retract it's step.He can only achieve his goal If he also peg the price of naira to a dollar in the black market (which is impossible). The same economist news that says that GEJ is an ineffectual buffoon which I agrees he is even more than that is also saying that Buhari's policy of pegging the currency value is ineffective and will only lead to a disaster.Procter and gamble is just a firm, we need more investors, buhari is not a fool for traveling all over the world trying to woo other investors. Moreso, nigerians in the diaspora which is one of the basic avenues the nigerian economy receives dollars will be slowed down. Why? If you send a dollar through Western Union, they will give you 197-199naira but if you want to transfer that money back to the US, the bank charges you 270-290.As a diasporan, would you risk sending your hard earned money to Nigeria?

Investors have no choice but to return and they have to on our terms and not theirs. We have to look out for our own interests and do what's best for us. They are looking out for their own interests and not Nigeria's interest.

We are not going back to the same old system where the very few drained our FOREX. The best thing fr us is what the government is doing by cleaning the system.

Investors can not overlook over 150 million people and unlimited untapped opportunities do they'll be back, just on sanitized terms and in our favor.

like I said before, the VALUE of the naira does not depend on your emotions or dreams and aspiration for a self sufficient industrialized Nigeria but on the demand!!! And as I can see from your second statement about Jonathan, you are a politician and not an economist. And who are you to tell investors who have their money how to invest it?lol you have 150,000, 000 consumers of which more than half are broke ass nig44s whose conditions will worsen in the coming months. And remember that the argument is devaluing the naira OFFICIALLY this time because it has already been devalued to its REAL VALUE in the parallel market hence the skyrocketing of the price of goods in Nigeria today

That is exactly the point, because a lot of foreign investors can't bring in the much needed forex until after the devaluation, which will definitely occur.
bro relax, what Buhari and his economic team are doing is initial gra gra anf the smart investors knows what is the reality in cases like this.Nigeria is BROKE!no dollars, oil is now almost useless. They export crude oil yes but at lost, they get the dollars yes but they spend almost all the dollars refining it outside the country. You get it?.....It's just a matter of time, the dollars in the foreign reserves will exhaust and et voila reality will set in.My advice to anybody in Nigeria is to invest in landed properties and those in diaspora to jejely keep their money in the bank of whatever country they resides or even invest it their until the inevitable happens grin

The foreign investors will just come, look at the fixed official rate and the parallel price of a dollar to naira and shake their head.what an unserious bunch of black asses. And please all these politicians here including the president himself should abstain from discussing the economy because most of them have little or no clue about basic economics. The VALUE of a currency DOES NOT depend on your emotions or your dreams of an industrialised nigeria but on the DEMAND of the naira in the money market! The true VALUE of the naira is what is obtainable in the parallel market and not the fixed CBN official rate. There are so many people especially those nigerians living in the diaspora who have lots of foreign currencies(of course their host countries must have devalued their own currency to the dollst)to send but sees the cbn official rate as funny and unserious, hence they will keep their money waiting until the naira is OFFICIALLY devalued which is BOUND to happen sooner or later!I am still waiting to see some of you here supporting this policy that are importers of anything including raw materials or cars who have gotten the dollars easily at the official rate. The price of everything has skyrocketed in the market and the president is saying he don't want to suffer the poor masses smh

@bold: I don't think so. It is common knowledge that in every foreign trip the president has made to the West, and currently, Middle East, meeting with business men/community has always been a significant part of his itinerary. The outcome of these won't manifest overnight, but surely, with time, we'd see the influx of foreign businesses as testament to the president's diplomatic shuttles so far.

A little patience is all we need.
the foreign investors are not coming in to invest in Nigeria unless the naira is officially devalued.197naira is not the real global value of a dollar.

So on point....This is one main reason most people are being denied the Mexico visa presently. You have to present a credible reason of visiting Mexico, and also more convincing reasons you made that decision. The consular really has to be convinced before he would issue the visa.
Truth is that for a Nigerian to leave all such sweet countries and tourist sites as can be found in some parts of Africa,Europe and South american countries which are closer to Nigeria,to go to Mexico is already a red alert! Now someone is trying to choose January, a season known for its harsh weather to visit a north American country for tourism?Besides which company gives its employees vacation in January? My humble advice to the dude is to do all he could to travel during this festive period with a ticket that shows he will be coming back to Nigeria before the 5th of January, that at least would've sounded reasonable to the immigration at the point of entry!
