Politics › Re: Obi Decries Insecurity In Nigeria, Calls For Release Of Kanu, Other Detainee by bentenny(m): 11:13am On Jun 30, 2024
IkeOnyia:
Calling for the release of a hardened terrorist like Nnamdi Kanu whose footsoldiers have been responsible the killings in the region without first seeking his deradicalization, is irresponsible of Obi. It is another proof of his lack of fitness for any public office as it indicates that he is in bed with secessionists who mean Nigeria no good. Even Boko Haram terrorists undergo rehabilitation from the Army after renouncing their terrorist ideologies. Peter Obi should call for Kanu to renounce secession and seek forgiveness from families of slain police and military officers that his Biafra units have murdered before asking that the criminal be released. Releasing Kanu without him doing necessary penance would be spitting on the graves of the fallen heroes.
What's really wrong upstairs with some of you?
Is the hatred for Obi an excuse to switch off ur brain cells when a simple perusing would have saved you all these sentimental cappings!

Now let me highlight what he said about nnamdi kanu and see if there was anything in his statement that implied he is in support of nnamdi kanu or the killings done by ipob....

Giving his views on the continued detention of Kanu, Obi said: “I don’t see any reason for his continued detention, especially as the courts have granted him bail. Government must obey the court.

“Rule of law is an intricate asset that we must cherish and live with. I use this opportunity to plead with government to ensure that all those who are in similar conditions are released and discussed with. We are in a democracy and we should not be doing things that are arbitrary and not within the law.”
If the courts said the FG acted in error and nnamdi kanu should go,it's left for the prosecutors to bring in a superior argument for still holding him in detention!
I despise nnamdi kanu just like you do but if the court says he is free to go,why holding onto him?
If Obi had said Nnamdi should be detained even when a court had on several occasions granted him bail, would that not imply that Obi doesn't respect the court?
Interestingly you even made a comparison with d army rehabilitating boko boys and I ask who gave the army the powers to decide who is innocent or guilty?

Funny guy you. I'm not supporting them at all - read through my posts. I'm only stating common sense. Southern Nigeria is influenced by and aligned with US and UK NOT Hungary and Russia!
We have vast number of our people living over there and some have openly come out as gay. Do you think they'd be as anti-gay as someone who has never left Nigeria?? I can bet you that in a few years time a small section of Lagos will be unofficially designated as gay. Such that people can go there and be openly gay and police would turn a blind eye.

My own personal OPINION is that we as a society ought do ALL we can to keep homosexuality taboo if not illegal, for the simple fact that they tend to take over if given an inch (the tail starts waging the dog!). Also because they tend to want to convert straight people - they tend to be turned on most by a straight person!
You have now made a U turn!
Approbating and reprobating at the same time!
Stay one place!
If you belong to them say so with your full chest!
There is no neutrality in this matter!
You are still alleging about lagos!
Bring out data or facts to buttress your points!
Stop doing guesswork because of what you have seen or heard!
I have also seen one or two incidents of homosexuality within my domain but does that now generalize everyone?
Let's be factual!
Finally, the highlighted comment which I think is true is what you should have said from the outset to save us from this little back and forth!
Romance › Re: Celebrating Pride In Nigeria Is An Act Of Defiance - BBC by bentenny(m): 8:35pm On Jun 28, 2024
DaddyCoool:
I'm obviously heterosexual but I'm being realistic. Southern Nigeria is very much aligned with, and much influenced by USA, UK, and with time will more and more adopt their values. Tinubu, Obi, Atiku, all have people they love who are gay. As with US and UK, anti gay people always soften up when someone they love turns out to be gay!
Will you still be violently anti gay if your child you love very much comes to you with tears to say he's gay?
Let's even assume you r hetero, you supporting such makes you an accomplice and an enabler which is as good as being part of them!
So don't go there!

Secondly, you made an allegation without proof or data to buttress your point!
You can't see one or two incidents and conclude it's being permitted by the southern Nigerians!

Secondly, your fable about southern Nigeria aligning with the UK and USA because of homosexuality is at best a hearsay and laughable!
This was the same allegation from mainstream media in the west that all Americans support the LGBTQIA group only to discover it was just a pack of lies by these homosexual activists to push their nefarious propaganda!

Thirdly, implying that family members of the three contenders in the last election who are into such acts would sway the people of Nigeria to be more accepting of the LGBTQIA group is not only hilarious but ridiculous!
Not every American anti-gay individual heart got softened because of the sexual deviation of a family member!
This is yet another barefaced lie that accomplices of the group pass on to unsuspecting folks just to pass on the message!

Finally, you have exposed yourself as one of them with your last statement!
Two things exposed you!
Gaslighting and manipulation!
Now let me make this clear to you and my unborn children....if any of my kids or sibling decide to indulge or even support such practices will seize to be part of me!

Now at the risk of sounding like a 1955 broken record, since there is this claim that there exists Nigerian based LGBTQIA group, they should come out and hoist their demonic flags on the streets of Nigeria and Nigerians will greet them with the only language they understand!

I said this to someone here 3 years ago and I am saying this to you!
I dare the group to hoist their flag on Nigerian soil to celebrate their pride month!

Slytiger:
It doesn't happen everywhere.
There is no where in Nigeria that this doesn't happen!
It still happens in the north!
Happens in all parts the south!
Fortunately the youths of that community got wind of such practices and exposed them!
It's only a naive and benighted individual will think or believe their state or region is exempted!
What is important is what the youths did which should be replicated in the entire federation and the assurance from security agents that the perpetrators are prosecuted and jailed to serve as a deterrent to others in the future!
Crime › Re: Oba Youths Invade Underage Brothel In Anambra State (Video) by bentenny(m): 12:37pm On Jun 28, 2024
It happens everywhere but kudos to the youths for busting that underage brothel!

I hope the perpetrators are arrested and speedily given the required prosecution and eventual sentencing they deserve!
I don't want to hear that these people have suddenly escaped from the police state!

Secondly, the state government should ensure the victims of these heinous acts are given a proper rehabilitation and possibly a scholarship from secondary school to the university!

Lastly, the police should set up a investigation gathering team that can interact with the youths who always have first hand information about the criminal activities in their domain!
This can only be possible if we have a properly independent and effective state policing structure!

Enough said!

Just remember that those countries were at one point as anti-gay as Nigeria. A liberalized place like Southern Nigeria will slowly loosen up because there are gays and gay sympathizers in power
The countries u refer to still have most states against homosexuality for instance USA!
Unfortunately, that group succeeded in gaslighting and manipulating most of them into thinking their preference will not hurt anyone!
Now the group even have a month where they are now in people's faces and even subtly trying to force those against them accept their acts!

Fortunately,Other countries like Hungary,Russia and a host of African countries have now seen first hand what happens when u allow such group to be in charge of policy making in USA....hence decided to strengthen their anti-gay laws!

Finally,it would seem you are either sympathetic towards this group or part of them.....which ever side you are on,please inform them to try a gay pride tomorrow in rivers state,Abuja or lagos and they will be properly given the 'appraisal' they rightly deserve!

However,we have strict laws which was back by majority of the population clearly stipulating that there will be no room for homosexuality in our dear nation!

If you intend practicing ur sexual deviation please go to countries that are lenient to ur practices not in Nigeria!

Nigerians like to create problems for themselves.

May the souls of the deceased rest in peace.

So what about road accidents in SS or SW states, were they also as a result of IP.OB?
Travel › Re: 7 Killed In Fatal Collision In Abia (photos) by bentenny(m):
Definitely overspeeding!

I know that the blame should go to both drivers but what about the passengers who keep mute when their driver was using them to practice car race?

Was travelling to an SS state and our driver was moving way too fast....I had to speak by pleading with the driver to reduce his speed!
Was shocked that the rest of the passengers were silent and looking at me as if I was mad!

Only one elderly woman supported me and raised her voice before the driver grudgingly slowed down claiming he was trying to 'meet up' in order to go back again!
Imagine!

The passengers have an important role to play to ensure these unruly drivers do not lead to their end due to recklessness!

Mention Peter Obi where it is relevant so that the discussion will get good results. Anyways we play a lot in this country. Catching cruise to forget what we are going through in this NIGERIA. Enough of bamboozing
How does this garbage have any relationship with the thread?

Secondly, the bolded is just another way to show how unlearned u are!

As at 1999 till 2023,no state government was permitted to generate, transmit and distribute electricity because electricity was still under the exclusive list....in other words,it was under the control of the federal government and not the state!

It was during the ineffectiveness of electricity in Nigeria that the last national assembly forced Buhari to sign into law a bill to remove electricity from the exclusive to concurrent list!
This law was sign last year!
This law gave the state government the power to generate, transmit and distribute electricity in their domain!

So why blame a former governor for not building a power plant when there is a law stopping them then from producing electricity?
