I'm sure it will be clear by now that the best path for car users is to know a little about your car and to be willing to DIY if the need arises. You may not be able to actually wrench, but you can still direct the guys that do that.

Many of these auto shops regardless of how sophisticated they claim to be or how high they charge are often only marginally better than your meticulous local mechanic, they only have more tools. If you are not careful, you will pay more with them, yet your car issues will remain. Then again they employ Nigerians and the integrity and carelessness issues will surface sooner or later.
