Seyi is usually eloquent, but TBH, I didn't think he was really making sense with his own side of what went wrong. He just went on and on without actually hitting the nail on the head. I expected him to just go straight to the point like Mercy. I wasn't impressed with his explanation, even Ebuka wasn't really getting what he was driving at. |
Alwaysachick:Form your own opinion and let me form mine. The thread is huge enough to contain your opinion, let me be with mine. |
Amya:I honestly don't know if the emboldened is true or rumor and I'm just reading it for the first time now. What I do know was that Mercy suspected Ubi was up to something and she mentioned it that after Ubi called her, someone advised her to be careful about Ubi, or to quote her words, "put one leg in and one leg out when it comes to Ubi". So, obviously something about Ubi doesn't sit right with Mercy though Mercy didn't reveal much for privacy sake. What I was trying to say pretty much is that, I no longer fault Mercy for that tweet because from Mercy's words which she used, Ubi didn't get back to her to know the way forward after her initial discussion with Tacha and Ubi, and "maybe she misunderstood them", but since it was about women empowerment, Tacha should have quoted Jackye's tweet to show that ladies needed to come together to uplift and support each other and change the narrative and settle the beef. So, I no longer blame Mercy for that tweet, but I also don't blame Tacha coz she said with her and Mercy agreeing to go live days later to show all is in the past during the conference, she felt she'd start showing it by quoting Mercy's tweet. But it's obvious there could be some unrevealed happenings that happened behind the scenes especially with Ubi that Mercy is not revealing. I only made my judgment with what I watched. |
Omakraid:Finally watched the episode. It was revealing, heart-warming, refreshing (especially knowing the gbas gbos sides of both Tacha and Mercy, and how they managed to keep it civil) and cordial. These are my conclusions: - Mercy and Tacha both like each other despite all the beefs on SM. Despite the occasional shades, deep down, they respect each other. - Both weren't fully honest on the episode. Mercy was right in saying Tacha had shaded her on multiple occasions on SM which is very verifiable, but she didn't state the fact that receipts have shown her shading Tacha before the reunion as well. Tacha on the other hand was trying to play a fast one on us denying that she liked posts shading Mercy, blaming it on her handler. She owns her handler and if she didn't subscribe to her handler liking posts shading Mercy, she'd have warned the handler not to continue. So, we're not buying the excuse. - Mercy is blunt and doesn't mince words. When Ebuka asked them about how the beef or animosity got to that level or the origin of the beef since they respected each other up until the fight in the house, Tacha at first went philosophical, trying to use her "when we women support each other....." quote/tweet to gloss over her answer, but Mercy hit the nail straight to head by telling Ebuka and Tacha why she doesn't get along with Tacha. No beating around the bush, no side talks, just straight up say it as e dey your heart. Though she failed to acknowledge her part in the whole, but I love the fact she laid it out for all to see why she doesn't get along with Tacha and it really set the tone for the rest of the episode. - Tacha and Mercy's beef has more to do with misunderstanding and fans pressure than personal dislike for each other. Mercy called Tacha on her birthday to wish her a HBD, her PA picked up and after that, Tacha didn't get back to Mercy but I don't know if her PA told her Mercy wished her well on her special day. Maybe the PA forgot, or she did but Tacha forgot Mercy's birthday wishes. That kind of stuff could strain whatever friendship they'd have had. Also, I initially faulted Mercy for tweeting "if clout was a person" when Tacha quoted her tweet, but after listening to her explanation, it dawned me that it was all a misunderstanding. Even Tacha could see where it was coming from. I don't blame Tacha for quoting her tweet, neither do I blame Mercy for misunderstanding Tacha's intentions because Ubi should've gotten back to her after her call with him and Tacha. They misunderstood each other. - Mercy wants she and Tacha to have an offline friendships first, she wants to trust Tacha personally and have a bond with her before they can be cool online. She doesn't want a situation where they are not cool with each other offline, but act all cozy online. That's tantamount to a fake friendship and I agree. - And lastly, despite the recent gulf in the distance between them, I still think these two ladies can become friends. If they can call each other offline as Mercy confirmed, maybe one day, away from all these SM dramas, they'd sit down and iron out their differences. Controversies boost their brands and fan base, but friendships could have similar effects too. |

Kimbrielle:Yes, I agree and have said it before, both Mercy and Tacha are guilty. Both have shaded and liked posts/tweets shading the other. I can't fault only one party. |
nadesh:I dont buy the social media handler excuse too. Even if she had a social media handler, if the handler had fűcked up the first time, what stops her from telling the handler to discontinue any shade on Mercy? For me, both were wrong. No imaginary handler should be scapegoated. |

Omakraid:Tacha really said that, that Mercy should unblock her? Wow. I need to watch this episode. I belive Tacha likes Mercy too, it's undeniable to anyone that followed BBN Pepper Dem, but misunderstanding and fans pressure have ruined the chances of them being friends ever again. The kind words Tacha wrote about Mercy and the remaining final 4, the embrace/brief reconciliation she and Mercy had after the show, the fact that before their fight, Mercy was amongst the few HMs Tacha didn't bring her gbas gbos to, shows she respects her. Mercy's diary session after Tacha left seemed genuine and touching to me too. She never wanted Tacha getting disqualified coz of her. I think somewhere along the line, things just went south and their beef grew. |
Omakraid:Yes o. LOL. Even me, I'm not a Twitter person. I can go 7 months without using my Twitter app, but I had to dig up my Twitter account and enter Twitter to catch up on what I missed, and na just Mercy I just dey see everywhere. Spent close to 50 minutes reading tweets. You can still read tweets without necessarily logging in. |
Omakraid:With the recent shade, I don't see them making up. If after last night's episode Tacha still shaded Mercy, assuming it was filmed before the shading and Mercy had stopped shading her, then that ship has sailed. I don't see them ever reconciling. But then, never say never. |
nadesh:Omo. Last night was hot on Twitter. Logged in to Twitter to catch up on what I might have missed by 3am, na so-so Mercy I saw everywhere. I must not miss the recap today. God help me. |
Omakraid:Unfortunately, I missed last night's episode. Yesterday was so hectic that despite knowing there was a reunion episode to watch, my body succumbed to nature as sleep invaded my body. But good news is that I'll watch it again by 11am when it's shown again on AfricanMagic Family. Last night's episode looked like it was fun because I entered Twitter by 3am and saw Mercy Eke everywhere. Had to read as much tweets as I can and told myself I'd be seeing the episode today. From my investigation on Twitter, both Mercy and Tacha were wrong in the past coz both have shaded or liked posts shading each other. So, I can't fault only one party. What I don't know is who threw the first shots. But like you said, I wish both of them can let go and let peace reign. They don't have to be close, but they can choose to end the beef and respect one another. I don't see that happening sha, especially if this episode had been filmed before Tacha recently shaded Mercy. |
logicboy:I dont see anything wrong in discussing BLM topic here as long we still talk about movies afterwards. All discussions here haven't been centered on movies alone, and if a trending topic like BLM comes up, those that are up for it can wade into it. For weeks now, BLM and racism topics as a whole was being extensively discussed on the Chelsea thread in the Sports section and I was following the debates there. I learned a lot from it. Tomorrow, I'd find myself in America and those debates could help guide me to avoid cops brutality. The Boko Haram discussion hasn't stopped for years, so I don't see how talking about BLM means we don't talk about Boko Haram. |
logicboy:But he doesn't deserve to be insulted for being passionate about movies. My illustration with Koice had nothing to do with if Koice was an intelligent reviewer or not; I was just trying to let him know that despite how high Koice was held, Koice still got insulted for it. My point is, no matter what one do or say, not everyone will like him or her. And I don't see Mekaprime as a low-key Koice. Yes, Koice is without a doubt several levels above him when it comes to general movies discussion and knowledge, but it's not a competition. No-one is perfect. We're all here to learn and to teach others, not to compete with who's best or not. Mekaprime is just doing his thing. One day, he might reach Koice's level of knowledge on movies. Rome wasn't built in a day. We all started somewhere. Once upon a time, Koice was a learner when it came to movies. He should be encouraged not insulted. Mekaprime has been helpful to me if not to others. With his movies ratings and suggestions, I've been able to watch and note down some movies I'll watch in future. For example, it was after Mekaprime dropped the rating and review of Monster that I got to read extensively about the serial killer and watch the movie. Without him, I probably wouldn't have gained that knowledge. Everyone can't be Koice and doesn't need to be. We're all different. |
mekaprime2:Don't let the jibes get to you. Live your life and watch enough movies as you can and like. Not everyone will like you. Despite how instrumental Koice was in helping many people with links to movies, ratings and movie and series suggestions, some of his detractors labeled him jobless coz of the sheer amount of knowledge he had about movies and series. So, if Koice could be insulted for trying to help some people out, it shouldn't be a thing of surprise if you ever get the tag. Nobody pays your bills or provide food for you, so just do whatever makes you happy as long it's not a crime. If Watching a lot of movies does it for you, to hell with anybody's opinions. |
Vyolet:Hope you know I'm a mod and you're treading on dangerous grounds? ![]() |
Vyolet:Really? Damn. I'd have re-watch the episodes I missed in the past if I knew about this info. Thanks a lot, milady. This is a great news. ![]() |
katalist:Pleasd what really happened? Can you explain a bit. Was on call for most of the program and missed out on that discussion. |
Na so I take miss out on tonight's episode despite watching it because I was receiving call for 90% of the duration of the show. Had to mute the TV and ended up not hearing one thing. I'm really pained. Abeg, is there anybody that can be kind enough to summarize the Esther-Diane-Mercy friendship that Ebuka quizzed them about? |
The Lodge (2020). Absolutely rubbish and boring movie. One of the worst horror movies I've watched in my life. Close to 2 hours of my time I can never get back, wasted |
Dansuqi:Avala is naturally calm but she puts her opinions across in a classy manner. |
Today's show was very calm and mature to me. I removed my mind from gbas gbos and was entertained. The ladies acted cool, calm and collected. Even Ella spoke well, admitted her mistakes and doused any fire that might have erupted. Kim's blood too dey hot though but it's understandable coz she was still mad at Ella, but Ella insinuated something about Kim being the one that let other people gain knowledge of her odor discussion with Kim and Kim justifying doing so coz of what happened in the house, was not cool with me. Maybe I heard her wrong. Other females did well too. Mercy handled the Jackye explanation perfectly especially with her friendship with Diane angle. Tacha was cool as ice with her replies as well. Loved her responses. But I still wished the 3 times Jackye approached her to explain her part in the witchcraft stuff, she had heard her out and given her benefit of doubt. But then again, I don't know how hurt she felt about it, after all Jackye still feels pained about Khafi's betraying her. People hurt differently I guess. The lady aired their pains without aggression and it's commendable. I'll give today's episode 8/10. It was worth my time. |
Kimbrielle:I share the same sentiment with you. I'm glad I chose her as my female fave when the show started. She's intelligent, eloquent, pretty, real and blunt. She tells you the blunt truth in a sexy manner. |
Treyknowles:LMAO. E shock you abi? ![]() I'm still struggling to understand how that trash of a movie could get a 9/10 rating. ![]() |
mekaprime2:I agree with your line of thought. I know what that people that came up badly can turn out great, but the question is, what's the percentage? How many people will go through what that woman had been through and turn out exceptional? Not much. I've been reading this woman's story for close to 30 minutes and to be frank, she's a victim of poor upbringing and zero parental care, love or influence. Her parents failed her. Her grandfather raped her, passed her off to his colleagues and even threw her out. I felt nothing but sad for her despite her killing those men. Mehn, it's hard to pass through the hell she's been through, getting pregnant at such a young age, become a prostitute as early as 11 years old, and not to turn out the way she did. Nah, I pity the woman. Instead of me hating her, I find myself wishing things had turned out differently and her parents raised her with love. RIP to her. P.S: I'm not absolving her of her crimes or denying that she deserve to die, but some part of me could just imagine what it felt like to be in her shoes. |
Just read about the sad demise of Khafi's brother, Alexander. Such a sad story of a young boy, just 20 years of age, robbed of his future and dreams. This world is a terrible place filled with with cruel and heartless beasts. How people get murdered and maimed befuddles me. Why are some humans this murderous? Have we lost all human sympathy and love for one another? RIP Alex and may God grant the Kareem family the fortitude to bear this crushing loss. |
Kimbrielle:I think they will show the continuation. That episode is far from over judging from the memes. Plus I think Ebuka had questions for Frodd and Esther in that episode. Anyway, tonight's episode was not bad as I thought it'd be. I enjoyed the serenity but I miss gbas gbos. |
Avala should just forgive and forget about Jeff's decision. Yeah, Jeff failed to fulfill his promise to her, but he was in a conundrum between saving Shola or Avala, and Shola was his G. At least for calling her to apologize, she'd just leave it in the past. I love their calm and intelligent back-and-forth sha. Some issues can be settled calmly. No real gbas gbos tonight, but it's was okay. From Kim, to Isilomo and the rest, it was a calm and open discussion. Not bad. We move. |
Nelson, cooking for Tuoyo or having his back doesn't make you entertaining. You're fuckîng boring whether you agree or not. ![]() |
I don't understand why DStv had to discontinue last night's episode. Why kill the buzzing vibe? Tonight's episode is okay sha but nowhere near as fun as yesterday's. |
Kim overdid her veto power thingy. It's obvious the power got to her head. |
