I might be wrong but the main issue here is the male child brouhaha,

Wifey doesn't want to risk carrying another pregnancy which after 4 children and a miscarriage which he stated here is very understandable. Husband wants a male child and Wifey has told him the surrogacy option, husband wants another wife.

My own question is what if you don't have a male child with the other wife.
