Labour Party chairman, Abdulsalam releases report of APC’s administration in 2 years and 6 months; alleges party performance abysmal - Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, who is the chairman of the Labour Party (LP), declares that the APC has failed Nigerians - Abdulsalam complained about the high level of poverty across the country - He says the APC has refused to actually fuse into one political party as its union is constantly threatened. The national chairman of Labour Party (LP), Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, has described the All Progressives Congress and its administration headed by Muhammadu Buhari as a failure. Abdulsalam said the party had failed woefully since Buhari emerged as the country’s president. The Punch reports that while speaking at a press conference in Abeokuta, Ogun state, Abdulsalam further accused Buhari of what he described as sectional appointment and development. Noting that there was a terrible hunger everywhere in Nigeria, Abdulsalam also condemned the APC government over the recently constituted committee on new minimum wage arguing that salary increment cannot be feasible when many governors have not been able to pay salaries for months. “APC has failed woefully. Let me tell you why APC failed. Buhari belongs to APC. “Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his group belong to the Action Congress of Nigeria. Rochas Okorocha belongs to All Progressives Grand Alliance. Dr Ogbonaya Onu belongs to All Nigeria Peoples Party. “So, you will discover that five political parties are operating independently. The other parties have been subjected to nothing. “Only Congress for Progressive Change has been benefiting in sectional appointment and development, so to say. “You can see now that Buhari is trying to mend fences with Tinubu. So, If I am to rate APC performance in Nigeria they won’t get more than five percent. “When Buhari went to present 2018 Budget there were protests by the senators and members of House of Representatives and it took Saraki and Dogara some time to appease them. “How could you have a budget for three years and you could not implement 20 per cent of the budget? Where is that done? “In terms of healthcare delivery, they have performed woefully. If Buhari has headache, ear pain or nose, he would run to London. So, they have failed the country woefully. “Everybody in this country today is hungry. There is hunger on the streets and there is anger on the faces of the people because APC has failed totally,” he said adding that the opposition party would not zone its governorship slot in Ogun state, would definitely win the election in 2019. “We don’t support zoning here. That is what is killing the so-called big political parties. Anybody who comes and is acceptable to all of you and you elect him in the primaries, so be it,” he said. https://www.naija.ng/amp/1139758-you-failed-nigerians-woefully-abdulsalam-tells-apc.html |

December 10, 2017 PDP PRESS STATEMENT PDP Convention: APC Jittery, Clutching On Straws. Our attention has been drawn to a statement credited to the spokesman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Malam Bolaji Abdulahi, wherein he criticized the conduct of the elective National Convention of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). It is indeed laughable that the APC which has roundly failed in not only managing the affairs of the country but also its own internal issues would recourse to panic mode just because the PDP has succeeded in uniting its fronts by conducting of a very credible elective National Convention. We were very much aware of the plots by the APC to scuttle the convention and failing it has resorted to a failed attempt to discredit an elective convention that has been adjudged as creditable, novel and laudable by political stakeholders and lovers of democracy across the nation. This unwarranted attack is only symptomatic of a party that has lost control and only clutching on straws for survival having been outrightly rejected by Nigerians. Is it not disgusting, reprehensible and embarrassing that the APC that has repeatedly failed to hold meetings, congresses and convention in the last three years and has flagrantly continued to violate its own constitution is questioning our party’s rights to perform her legitimate and constitutional obligation? Perhaps APC leaders have never read Article 25 (A)(i) of their party’s Constitution which stipulates that “the National Convention of the party (APC) shall be held once in two years at a date, venue and time to be recommended by the National Working Committee (NWC) and approved by the National Executive Committee (NEC) subject to the giving of the statutory notices to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and at least 14 days notice given to members eligible to attend.” Which impunity could be higher than APC violating its constitution? It is strange that APC could be moralizing on the principles of social justice whereas its actions against Nigerians are a complete departure from the norms. It is important for this spokesman of a failed party and his pack of incompetent members to reminisce on the needless pains and suffering they have inflicted on Nigerians rather than being jittery over the successful outcome of the PDP’s elective national convention. Nigerians have come to discover that APC is a fraud, an organization of deceitful characters who have failed to keep a single of its countless promises made to the citizens. It is no longer news that the nation is drifting under APC and the PDP has come to the rescue. We must therefore remind the APC that the era of deceit, trickery and scaremongering, which has been the hallmarks of their government, is gone and Nigerians are just waiting to kick them out come 2019. Former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has reacted to the emergence of Uche Secondus as PDP National Chairman. Fani while congratulating Secondus, praised Atiku on his speech at the convention. The ex-minister also noted that time has come for the All Progressives congress APC to be overthrown. ‘Together, we shall change the change and burn the brooms in 2019. ” In his tweets, he wrote, “Congrats to the newly-elected National Chairman of our great party the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, and to all our other newly-elected party officials. “I also commend @atiku on his profound speech at the convention. “Together we shall change the change and burn the brooms in 2019. Olusola Fabiyi, Abuja One of the contestants for the position of the national chairmanship of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Raymond Dokpesi, has congratulated the winner of the election. Dokpesi had initially protested the distribution of “Unity List ” to the delegates by unknown people at Eagles Square, venue of the convention, on Saturday night. His name was not on the list. All those who were on the list eventually won. But when Secondus was eventually declared winner in the early morning of Sunday, Dokpesi in a statement, said that the delegates had spoken. He said, “I write to thank you (delegates) most wholeheartedly for voting at the just concluded Elective National Convention in Abuja. “The delegates have spoken. I congratulate the newly elected Prince Uche Secondus led National Working Committee. “You will recall that i said that the PDP must be the ultimate winner at the end of the contest. God bless the Peoples Democratic Party. Congratulations PDP as i wish all our members the best of luck.” http://punchng.com/dokpesi-congratulates-secondus-thanks-delegates/amp/
