Hi all,

Please what's the cheapest way to pay school fees from Nigeria? (I'm in the UK so unable to fill a form A). Can paga be used? I need a relatively cost effective exchange rate cos GTB milked me the last time.

Hi,

This should not be a problem. I had a similar situation (even worse, can explain privately) but I got my visa extension approval recently.

Just make sure the supporting documents align with those listed on the CAS and you should be fine. If CAS says 'authority letter', that's it!

Please is it possible to use ...To whom it may concern (Authority letter) in place of Degree certificate when applying for Visa if that was what the school used to give the unconditional offers..

The applicant is a recent graduate 2019 and Covid delayed Convocation hence certificate not yet ready...

Or is the original degree certificate a must?

I'm not sure that it will but the ECO might want to know why the certificate from the last course you were sponsored for wasn't used. You might need to explain this.

Hi everyone,

I'm currently in the UK and considering a second program.

The issue is I was given a CAS using my BSc degree from Nigeria because my current masters degree certificate is not ready.

Considering that I have an academic history here, do you think my school using my BSc certificate as admission document on my CAS will give me issues?

Secondly, has anyone applied for a student visa in country (from the UK) recently? Did they ask for proof of funds?

My gtb declined several times too. I eventually used a zenith mastercard and it worked the first time.

I got my passport today, granted! �‍♀️

Here's my timeline...

Biometrics : 16th Sept (Superpriority)
Transferred DMC: 16th Sept
Sheffield received app mail: 16th Sept
Deferred complex /not straightforward mail :16th Sept
Missed Call from DMC: 16th Sept
Another call for interview: 17th Sept (1hr4mins)
Received at DMC: 17th Sept
Transferred VAC: 20th Sept
Received VAC: 20th Sept
TLS pickup mail: 2hrs later

I thought to share so someone waiting won't be as panicky as I was.�

You can book a one way ticket. I don't think a return ticket is compulsory.

Yes,you paid for Super priority but you won't get a decision in 24hours because your application needs more time = not straight forward.

Berryabel you need a tier 4 visa and u can go for any of the tier 4 added services( super priority or priority) it is solely dependent on how much you are willing to spend for your visa

Priority visa will cost you almost 600k and comes out within 5- 7 working days ( although it’s taking longer now due to DMC has a lot of visa application to process )

Super priority will cost you almost 900k + and comes out within 24-48hrs. It may also take longer (but it’s rare except if you have gotten a UK visa rejection in the past).

I heard ikeja is faster than VI and of late Abuja is becoming faster for Priority n super priority ( I stand to be corrected though )

Since your school starts in October, I would advice you go for priority visa. After all d difference between a priority visa and standard visa is about 98k +
