I submitted it thesame day too- apparently it was a document i had submitted before but i included a scan of the boarding pass and my return tickets to the new request.

Its a real testimony people, up until friday midnight i hadnt lost hope of getting my grant infact i bought a new travelling box this weekend, ironed and arranged all my cloths with the strong hope of getting visa grant this week.

Show? Nd that immediately reminded me to check my email. Lo nd behold visa grant
To all expecting visa..this week would not pass you by in Jesus name. Just have a strong believe and be hopeful.
Would also advice all hopefuls to check their emails regularly. The longer it takes u to reponds to the request of an additional document from your case officer the longer it would take for an apporved visa grant.

Deakin here as well . . . My agent has already spoken to Deakin and informed them that their embassy is delaying us ooo. Right now, the department has agreed extending the enrolment date to first week of August.

Hello everyone, I joined This thread three days ago cos I wanted a place I could relate with everyone going through the discomfort of waiting for the Australian Student Visa to be approved.

Application date: April 27th
CO first contact: May 16th (reason for visa refusal)
CO Second contact: May 18th (proof of funds)
Grant approval date: July 7th.

Let's not forget to go after our bankers cos mine accounted for over 30days of delay alone by not confirming my fixed deposit letter in time.

I wish everyone success and approval of grants in Jesus name.

Its good to imagine the worst and always prepare for it. However, we will always pray that may we not be so risk averse that we miss out on opportunities lying in wait for us.

All it takes is being positive minded. The first person who spoke to me about Australia years ago went there with only US$400. He had a land at Abuja valued at N7.5m and his plan was for his cousin to sell the property and send the money to him so he won't even have to get a job. He just wanted to face his studies and graduate. Fast forward to today, no N7.5m ever got to him and he just had to make it work. He's a graduate of Social Work now and earns a six figure annual salary (in AU$ ooo).

What I keep telling my folks is that the worst case scenario is that the authorities will say you've not paid school fees, and you're hereby deported. The chances of that happening is very slim if only we can put our heads on the ground, maintain focus on the dream, and be hardworking. Others have done it, some people on this thread are doing it, I'm pretty sure you and I can do it as well. I had this same fears as you do before, but I had to make myself understand that if I had to wake up every 4am to get ready for my current bank job and get back home by 11pm from work, I should be able to push myself to achieve this dream.

If you have the N6.5m as you said, that's like two steps taken already. I'm not saying it will be easy, but the point is we can achieve it and we no go die. Unlike here, you're going to a place where the system works, opportunities are abundant, and there is reward for hardwork.

So, calm your fears, take the steps, research on schools, start your applications and get this admission bro. Everything will be fine, okay?

@Rooney, pls if you dont mind, could you advise us the bank that caused you this prolonged delay?

For most people the delay might come from the bank, I applied April 27th, They requested for statement and I replied May 23rd, they sent a mail to the bank to confirm May 26th and guess when the bank replied June 30th, I know this because I used to work with the bank so I had my friends find out what was happening from within the bank. Funny thing is after they sent a mail to the bank on May 26th, They sent two reminders on June 15th and June 29th. Thats an additional 34 days because someone at the bank didnt do his job. I hope the statement is the last thing they ask for though and I get my visa this week. It has been a crazy ordeal waiting, so keep hoping for the best everyone.

Thing is, we kinda believe that the High Commission at Pretoria has a lot of applications they are working on, especially as that Pretoria office handles applications (students visa and other visa classes) from most countries in Africa. So don't be deterred. As you have rightly read in this thread, the key thing is applying to the school early, ensuring that all documents are in order and not faked, and applying for the visa early enough. If all your docs are fine and you apply in Feb/Mar to resume July, I see no reason why you won't get the visa by May/June.

I've been following this thread as im about to apply to a sch I Aussie but waiting on my transcript and ut seems they process apps differently because some people applied after them and got the visa already. Is there no way to reach out to Australia high commission in Aussie itself on this issue since it's a student visa and resumption is closeby.

Apart from the Yellow Card you got and the Oral Polio Vaccination you did during medicals, is there any other vaccination or immunization you took before leaving?

I like this sort of questions; apt and sensible. Master of social work is an excellent course, and WSU is a better Uni than ACU. It's better to start the disability course when you get here and you still need it despite the social work program cos the disability jobs require Cert III & IV not degree. Cheers

Australia really needs to consider having Embassies in countries where they are receiving high numbers of applications from. What I dont get is that theres an Australian High Commission at Abuja . . . Can't the High Commission issue visas? we won't have to face these delays if that was the case.

Thats a serious issue my brother. How to get the application number. i only got text messages without application numbers. no emails or letters received either. and i fear we will be required to provide our application/registration numbers during accreditation.
