Hello Canadian Gurus,
Please just a couple of questions . . . What are the downsides to studies through the route of Graduate Certificate Programs. Is it more difficult to get study visas for graduate certificate programs compared to graduate diplomas or masters?
My sister has a bachelor degree with a CGPA of 2.6, hence we have to go for colleges, but finding graduate diplomas of 2years have been kinda challenging but we've seen a bunch of graduate certificate programs. I just want to get a sense of Canadian Visa Officers sentiments towards graduate certificate programs . . . is it too much trouble getting student visas for such programs?
Also, my sis is looking to travel for this studies with 4kids. What are her chances of getting visas for her kids if she applies to study a 1year graduate certificate program? |

Please new member to this thread. Couple of quick questions:- 1. Is there any disadvantage to applying for study permit using admission gotten from a private university? I’m worried that Visa Officers may not be too inclined to hand out visas for not well known private schools in Canada. (FYI the school name is CIMT College).
2. I want to apply for a Post Graduate Diploma in that same school for my cousin. In your experience, Is PGD still considered viable for study permit purposes? I know one can still apply for study permit with PGD admission, but I’d like to know, as at today, is more preference given to masters applicants than PGD applicants?
Thanks. |

Yes you can evaluate them Yes they add up to 30 additional points You have to evaluate either AAT or ACA. Doing both is a waste of money as they still put you in the same class of 2 or more degrees type aca in the search thread to read through people's experience Some didnt get positive evaluation because of how they filled it in WES Avangard: Hi guys, I've been a silent reader of this thread for the past 3 months, yet I've not gotten convincing answer on evaluation of ACA and AAT. Plz I need someone to clarify whether I can evaluate them, if yes, will they add to my CRS score? |

Hi Kemi This is a tricky question some people got positive evaluation and others didnt although it depends on what exactly they wrote when filling the WES form If done properly, WES turns it to a 3 year diploma certificate, so just type ican on the search button of the thread and read through. Kemi22: Can I evaluate my ICAN certificate |

Good morning my Fellow Fighters. Congrats to all that have shared their good news
More strength to those that are still in the process
Now straight to my issue
Ever since I opened my WES Account (2 weeks ago), I have not sent any document to them
On opening my account yesterday, I saw we have received your documents and they are under review. Your Evaluation is in progree and you are not required to do anything.
Im very confused as to what document they must have received. Because my school/ICAN is yet to send my transcript to them in hard copy
Moving on, I used Hellofax to send my own personal documents since yesterday but it has not been updated?
Im quite patient when it comes to things like this but I just want to know if there is anything to be worried about?
Thanks for your usual help |

Many Thanks God bless happytbaby: Sorry, when you said we should call you nau and some people are too busy to call or probably don't want to use their phones to call someone they don't know. E ma binu.
Me I thought you might not have time to come back here to read responses so I waka pass.
Let me make an attempt....If age is on your side I think you should wait and do your induction in May. I don't know much about ICAN ATS and AAT so I may not be making sense.
Are you saying you have a Bsc in addition to being an ICAN member who went through the foundation stages? If yes, I suggest you wait till induction in May or pop into ICAN office at Ebutte Meta to ask if you can get a statement of result for your ATS and if they can send transcripts pending when you do the induction....you may just walk in to pay for all the induction things and ask what they can do......
I have some business with them this coming week, let me know if you are not in Lagos, maybe I can help make enquiries.
I am talking about ATS because people do not get a positive evaluation for complete ICAN memebership itself. |

Many Thanks and God bless pepe1: I learned from this thread that WES doesn't assess ICAN as they consider it a professional certificate.
Someone confirmed few pages back that WES assessed his AAT.
Just search this thread, you will also find page 0 very helpful.
The best time to jump into the pool is when you have your ECA and IELTS result. |

Hey please can you send me your email or whatsapp number. Need to clarify some things from you as a Babcock graduate adewumz: Hello house! First of all, I'm thrilled to have aced my IELTS at the first attempt. I hope my fellow February 10 candidates got the required scores as well? Anyway, I have this information for those who are using WES to assess their credentials from Babcock University. I'm sure someone will find this useful. So, after WES sent my transcript for verification, I kept waiting and eventually had to go Babcock to track its progress. Babcock uses a body known as ETX for the verification process. At the registry, the lady there checked for the verification mail for my transcript and sent it to ETX, then put me in contact with the ETX people. I was then required to send my email address and got an invoice to pay 2000 into their GTB account. I got an email 2 days later that the verification had been completed. I had to wait for about 5 working days for it to reflect on WES. Ready to dive into the pool!!! |

Hi Threadstone . . . Good morning. The thing is, with very high IELTS scores which I aim to get, I got a CRS of 441. When I take the test in Jan 18 in the US and get the projected score, I will dive into the pool immediately and I expect ITA should be out by Feb 18. I know all of these is not cast in stone, but when it's cast in stone this way, I want to think that I can use my work reference letter dated Dec 17, at Feb 18. However, i buy into your views about the statement "employed till date" that will be quoted on the letter. As such, i will hold off on getting the letter now. Abeg do you have that officer Moshood's number or do I just get to Alagbon and ask of Moshood? threadstone: The question is are you sure youre going to get an ITA within the next six months? What is your current crs estimate as you dont have ielts yet. 1 & 2 is possible to get but they have a time limit which shouldnt be more than three to six months to the day of submission else you'd have to procure another.
As for the pcc, you can get it in an hour or less. Officer Moshood has done Enough wonders for people in this thread.
Without sade further ado, i wish you good luck in your masters program. When you finish you can cross over to canada without visiting Nigeria sef.
Chill. Express entry can wait |

Dear Family, I need your help ooo . . .
Firstly, I'm about leaving Nigeria for USA for a masters degree but I am very defiant to start my EE process. School resumes in Jan 3rd 2018, and I would leave before Dec 24th. Currently, my BSc school has dispatched my transcripts for evaluation. I couldnt do the IELTS in Nigeria because the earliest date is Jan 3rd or so . . . So I have to take the IELTS in USA.
Also, I am currently employed but will be resigning next week.
My question is this . . .
1. Is it advisable I procure my work reference letter now from my employers before I resign, so I can have it handy when submitting the application from the USA? Yes, its possible to get the employment letter even after I've resigned but I know I can speed things up and ensure there are no mistakes while i'm still in Nigeria, however, i'm worried that the date on the letter may be an issue for IRCC. Assuming I get ITA in Feb/Mar 2018, will my work reference letter dated Dec 2017 be a problem?
2. Since I will be leaving in the next two weeks, I have to get my PCC from Nigeria now. Will the date issue mentioned in (1) above also be a problem here?
3. How long does it take to get the PCC in Lagos and what are the steps to take?
Thank you all very much while anticipating your kind responses. |

Superdoll, I may not be a guru in the PR process, but from my experience in foreign applications, I expect providing CAC (incorporation docs) of hubby's company which clearly shows that he's the director and major shareholder in the company will be suitable. The CAC dosc could also be accompanied with a reference letter from the bank (of hubby's corporate account) stating that Hubby is the sole signatory to the corporate account. The reference letter is basic and standard and can easily be issued by hubby's bank. This is just my thoughts, but I believe you'll be good with this superdoll: Thanks @elfmann His account is a corporate account, does it still not matter? How do i convince dem that the money is his own when its not in his personal account |

Hello Keni, Thanks for your prompt response. Please, during your application, how did you treat this part of the application: I understand that payment is by credit card. That after they must have received the application, they will respond via mail with my reference number and requesting me to make payment by filling my credit card details in a fax payment form to be sent to me then. So, am I required to fill the credit card details now in this application stage? Also, kindly share with us, how long did it take you from application till today you received the ECA. Thanks and kind regards. keni: When I filled my application I just typed Canadian Immigration and All Canadian Provinces The extra $75 will enable them courier the ECA to you because they wont send you soft copy. Funny enough I just went to UPS to collect mine today at UPS office when I tracked and I saw the thing hanging in their office due to incomplete address (na road my house de o) they said the address is not popular.

Good afternoon Superdoll, Thanks once again for your response. Quick one dear . . . When filling the ICES application form, did you also fill that part that talks about giving ICES permission to release my info to another party? Also, did you choose to pay the extra $75 for courier? If you used standard (just the normal $200) did ICES dispatch the hard copy evaluation to your address? superdoll: Hello bestdiddy,
I attached my degree result to the email i sent them (containing the application form, intl ppt, my degre and othee relevant docs) If the school is sending ur degree result den u may not need to worry, however attaching a soft copy to ur application doesnt cost anything so i tink u shuld still so dt. As per the proper seal stuff, the school already knw how they package transcripts. Usually the envelope is sealed, stamped and signed across the seal before dispatch. Just ensure you give them proper details of who to address to. |
