Nigeria @56: Group celebrate by distributing free clothes to the poor

To mark Nigeria's Independence celebration, a humanitarian organization, Voice of Change Network International , stormed the Ajegunle-Ikorudu community in Lagos, to distribute free clothes to poor children and adults. This was done under the auspices of its Project- Help-a-Child Cloth Bank Initiative.
According to the leader of the group, Mr. Azemobor Gregory, the cloth bank initiative was borne out of the need to provide clothing to millions of children and adult in Nigeria, who do not have sufficient clothes to wear. He observed that while many people go about naked or scantily dressed, yet many rich and average families have heaps of unused clothes stacked up in their wardrobes. This cloth bank initiative according to him was launched to bridge the gap between those that have abundant clothes and those that have none.
Speaking, during the free cloth distribution program in Ajegunle, Ikorodu, which is the inaugural event to kick start the campaign, Azemobor said, “ We are here today, to kick start the cloth bank campaign. The aim of the initiative is to help provide free clothing to millions of children and adult who do not have clothes to wear. What we do is to collect unused clothes from rich and average income families, and distribute those clothes to the poor. This project is so timely in Nigeria, especially during this period of recession where many Nigeria families could barely feed not to talk of buying clothes for their kids”
Speaking further, Azemobor said “This initiative is in line with our Project- Help-a- Child Global Campaign that is envisioned to ‘create a world where no child lives in lack’. We are determined to ensure that every poor child in Nigeria is provided adequate clothing. Let me also use this opportunity to enjoin Nigerians to be their brother’s keeper and, learn to always give to the poor and the needy around us. Look, if you have some clothes that you have not used within the past six months, I do not think you need those clothes, give then out to the less privilege around you. Do you know that your children’s clothes that are stacked up in the wardrobe can bring great succor to a poor family? Come on let us show some love to each other!
“ The vision of the Project-Help-a-Child Cloth Bank is to build a big warehouse that will serve as a massive collection and distribution centre for used clothes, shoes, school bags toys etc. The rich and average families can walk in and drop their unused children and adult clothes, and other items. While the poor can also walk in with their children to get free clothes. The facility will also have a laundry, barbing and free food kitchen”
The Ajegunle-Ikorodu free clothes distribution was a massive success as residents: children , adults and the elderlies trooped out amidst the showers of rain to benefit from the gesture. They were full of smiles as they thank the Project-Help-a-Child team for this noble vision.
The free clothes distribution program is going to be done on monthly basis and the organization is using this medium to appeal to kind- hearted Nigerians to support the project by sending in their unused clothes . Just give them a call and they would be there to pick them up. call 08080741414,

Religion / We All Need To Know Where We Are Going - BILLY GRAHAM by bethelmendels(m): 6:46am On Sep 18, 2016
We all need to know where we are going.

- BILLY GRAHAM

Billy Graham is now 92 years old with Parkinson's disease.

In January, leaders in Charlotte, North Carolina invited their favorite
son, Billy Graham, to a luncheon in his honor.

Billy initially hesitated to accept the invitation because he struggles with Parkinson's disease. But the Charlotte leaders said,
'We don't expect a major address. Just come and let us honor you.' So he agreed.

After wonderful things were said about him, Dr. Graham stepped to the rostrum, looked at the crowd, and said,

"I'm reminded today of Albert Einstein, the great physicist who this month has been honored by Time Magazine as the "Man of the Century".

Einstein was once traveling from Princeton on a train when the conductor came down the aisle, punching the tickets of every
passenger. When he came to Einstein, Einstein reached in his vest pocket. He couldn't find his ticket, so he reached in his trouser
pockets. It wasn't there.

He looked in his briefcase but couldn't find it. Then he looked in the seat beside him. He still couldn't find it.

The conductor said, "Dr. Einstein, I know who you are. We all know who you are. I'm sure you bought a ticket. Don't worry about it."

Einstein nodded appreciatively. The conductor continued down the aisle punching tickets. As he was ready to move to the next car, he turned around and saw the great physicist down on his hands and knees looking under his seat for his ticket.

The conductor rushed back and said, "Dr. Einstein, Dr.
Einstein, don't worry, I know who you are; no problem. You don't need a ticket. I'm sure you bought one."

Einstein looked at him and said, "Young man, I too know who I am. What I don't know is where I'm going."

Having said that Billy Graham continued, "See the suit I'm wearing? It's a brand new suit. My children, and my grandchildren are telling me I've gotten a little slovenly in my old age. I used to be a bit more fastidious. So I went out and bought a new suit for this luncheon and one more occasion. You know what that occasion is? This
is the suit in which I'll be buried. But when you hear I'm dead, I don't want you to immediately remember the suit I'm wearing. I want
you to remember this:

I not only know who I am. I also know where I'm going."
May your troubles be less, your blessings more, and may nothing but happiness,
come through your door.

"Life without God is like an unsharpened
pencil - it has no point."

And may each of us have lived our lives so that when our ticket is punched we don't have to worry about where we are going.

You have been blessed. So don't lose the blessing. This piece is worth sharing. We all need to know where we are going.
Stay blessed.

Religion / Beware! Anti-christs Are Already Here: They Own The Big And Popular Churches. by bethelmendels(m): 11:56pm On Sep 13, 2016
What many of us gullible Christians.do not understand is that the anti-christs are already here. They have the form of godliness but lack the true character  and compassion of Christ. They have big churches .They are the popular "fathers" of the Christian faith- the bible calls them wolves in sheep clothing. If you are wise, flee from them now, because they will prey on your destiny. This is a serious matter. If you like don't hearken to our warning. Stay there and be quoting the scriptures they have indoctrinated into your gullible mind.

The time for a rivival in the body of Christ has come. God is raising an army of believers to unleash the "weapon" of TRUTH to set his people free from the Pharaohs that are masquerading as "men of God "
Enough is enough! "HERE I AM LORD SEND ME"

if you believe, and you a part of that army share this message now!

Crime / Woman Stole A Pot Of Soup: Policeman Pays Complainant N3,000 by bethelmendels(m): 6:05am On Sep 13, 2016
A facebook user Amb. Justice Oyamienlen Godfrey posted this amazing story of a noble act by a Nigerian Police officer on his wall. This is really inspiring! Not all Nigerian policemen are bad, there are still good ones among them.Hear him:

"Last week I received a call to wade into case of a woman who stole a POT of SOUP from her neighbor at upper sakponba and was arrested by the police in Ugbekun Police Division. On my investigation mrs Uwadia mother 5 children confessed that she did steal the soup because for the past 4days she and her children have not gotten any food to eat. Complainant a young lady demanded the money she used to prepare the soup which #3,000 be paid to her before the woman can be release from the police cell.

Though, the act is condemnable but the situation surrounding the stealing touched the DPO and decided to pay the complainant #3,000 and also gave the sum of #20,000 to mrs Uwadia to start small business to help to keep her family alive.

This officer has prove to others that the only way to fight crime is to empower the consciousness of those involve in it.

Therefore, join me to appreciate this officer for this great work".

A thread like this should have been on the front page, but it may not because it is not politics or entertainment.
we urge every body to always show some kindness to others, no matter how little. we should also learn to appreciate positive contributions instead of resorting to sarcasticism and idle criticism.

Politics / An NGO That Rehabilitate Government’s Roads In Ogun State Receives Commendation by bethelmendels(m): 5:04pm On Aug 19, 2016
A non-governmental initiative, De-Real Community Self-Help Project has received commendation for their noble effort in rehabilitating several roads in Matogun-Oke-Aro community in Ifo Local Government area of Ogun State. The group was presented with the Certificate of Selfless Service to Humanity, by the Project-Help-a-Child Initiative, for their immense contribution in bringing great relief to the people of Oke-Aro community.
For many years now, the people of Matogun-Oke-Aro community have had to grapple with the near absence of government presence as reflected in the lack of basic infrastructure that ought to make life meaningful for them. The road network in this area is sadly deplorable. No single road is tarred. Each time it rains, the roads are impassable and this has caused untold hardship to the hapless residents.
They had made countless appeal to the state government to come to their aid, but no positive response was forthcoming. They were completely neglected by the government and they have had to live with their woes. But finally, they would now have some respite as a community development NGO had moved in to help rehabilitate some of their roads. This gesture no doubt will bring a lot of relief to the residents.
Within a spate of one year, De-Real Community Self-Help Project has rehabilitated several roads which includes: Oluwo Street; Toyin Street to Giwa road amongst others. Presently work is ongoing in Matogun along the Oke-aro road. The leader of the group, Mr. Oyebowale Oladayo, and his team have been able to reconstruct and dress a slope along Beaulah bus stop, Oke-Aro road, Matogun. They have also rebuilt a clogged, crippled drainage and also filled up large areas of eroded strips of land in the area.
Speaking to the Project-Help-a-Child Team during who visited the group, Mr. Oladayo appreciated the members of the public who support their various projects through voluntary donations as they pass by. Hear him, “ I really want to appreciate Nigerians who give generously to support our projects: some give money while others support us with materials like stones, asphalt, equipment etc. To be frank with you, the only limitation we have right now is finance. If we get more financial support, we would do more for this community. Let me quickly add by saying that what we are doing is actually to send a message to Nigerians that we can develop our community without necessary waiting for the government. By doing this, we take our destiny in our hands to make life comfortable for all”
The international co-ordinator of Voice of Change Network International, Mr. Azemobor Gregory, who is also the leader of the Project-Help-a-Child team ,while presenting the Certificate of Selfless Service to Humanity, to the group remarked, “ We are here as representatives of God to acknowledge your good deeds and to honour you as true heros of Change. Even if society fails to appreciate your noble deeds, but, God has seen all your selfless service to humanity. Well done my brothers! You guys are the true celebrities”
Speaking further, Azemobor said “ We give this Certificate of Selfless Service to Humanity to individuals and organizations who have distinguished themselves by making sacrifices to create a better society. This we hope, will inspire others to also toe the path of nobility”

Religion / Azemobor Advocates The Abolition Of Religion by bethelmendels(m): 11:18am On Jul 19, 2016
BY Bennett Chukwuonu. This is an excerpt of the explosive interview with Azemobor Gregory, the international cordinator of Voice of Change Network International .

When VOCNEWS  sought his views about the prevalent crisis bedeviling the world, this was his candid submission:

“The endemic crisis ravaging the world today is simply the consequence of our collective disobedience to God, who is the maker and the owner of the whole universe. In our seemingly “wisdom”, we have created rebellious systems that are completely antithetical to God’s natural laws which govern the universe. During the creation of the earth, God in his infinite wisdom had instituted natural laws or principles that would create order and tranquility on earth. But these laws have been flagrantly violated by the systems and ideologies designed by man. Now when laws are transgressed, a condition of disorder or anarchy becomes the natural outcome. Simply put, the defiant ideological structures fabricated by man is the root cause of all the calamities bedeviling humanity

“A closer look at the various systems created by man shows clearly that they are fashioned to subvert God’s natural principles. Take for instance the capitalist economic system. This system has failed woefully in the effective allocation of economic wealth to enhancing the welfare of a vast majority of people in the world. Capitalism essentially promotes the concept of individual accumulation and ownership of wealth. This tenet of individual ownership of wealth negates God’s economic principle which recognizes God as the sole owner of all things, and that whatever we have as humans, is only entrusted to us during our life time, to be used strictly to bless the lives of others. Now, capitalism calls those that ravenously accumulate wealth, the ‘rich’, and those that are deprived by the system are called the ‘poor’. The so-called ‘rich’ are celebrated or even adulated as they continue in their evil escapade for inordinate opulence. In a nutshell, I dare say that capitalism has not only created more poverty for the world, but it has become injurious to the economic wellbeing of humanity.

“Let us also look at another system created by man, religion, which has caused great catastrophe to humanity. This may shock many of us! But the bare truth is that, religion is man-made; it is as invention of man. God is not the author of religion and He does not belong to any of them. Is it not sad that religion has divided our common humanity? When you see your fellow brother and sister created by the same God, the moment you know that he/she belongs to a different religion, you immediately withdraw your love and fellowship. Do I need to remind us that almost about 80% of the entire crisis in the world today is motivated by religion? Can’t we see that religion is evil and that if care is not taken, it will destroy humanity? This is a clarion call to the world that the time has come for us to come together as one universal family. Embrace the brotherhood of mankind and live in LOVE with one another. If you ask me, I would say that LOVE is the only ‘religion’ that God recognizes

“ In the same vein, if you examine all other systems created by man: the systems of government; the justice system; the social system; the educational system; the media system; the security system, just name them…………… the trajectory of failure is the same. They are all ineffective in creating a better world for all.  But what is more perplexing is our systemic recalcitrance to acknowledge the supremacy of God, and the recognition of the fact that our beautiful ideologies would certainly lead us to self- destruction ……………………”

Romance / Beware! That Sugar Mummy Will Destroy Your Destiny- By Austin Edoho by bethelmendels(m): 1:06pm On Jul 16, 2016
YOUNG MEN & SUGAR MUMMY
When the youths of today are lazy, the future will be worse than the present. The youths are the hope of this nation, and if they are living an irresponsible and reckless life, the future will suffer.I want to speak to my fellow young men in the house.Guys,we need to wake up and get busy with our lives.Laziness is what drives a lot of young men into the arms of women old enough to be their mother. We want the latest designer clothes, perfumes, and wristwatches, but we don't want to sweat or get our hands dirty. Why would that woman be feeding u,clothing u,& picking up your bills?Do you think she loves you?She is an agent of darkness sent to terminate your destiny. You are selling your soul for bread. All of u sleeping with rich women to get money, pls desist from it.She is buying your strength and vitality. She will eventually leave u when she has drained you.Leave married women alone...they belong to someone.Would u be happy if someone was sleeping with your wife?Do u need a suggar mummy to survive?Absolutely not!I feel so pained and sad when i see young men living lazy lives simply because there is a sugar mummy sponsoring them. Please leave her alone, she is not your mother! For how long can she do it?Save yourself bro,run away from her.You won't starve.Be determined to make a honest living you will be proud of.And you that woman that is endangering your marriage for the sinful pleasure u derive from that boy,I pity u!When your husband eventually finds out and sends u packing, that boy will run away from you.The reason he is dating and sleeping with u is because he wants to enjoy the pleasure without any responsibility. He sleeps with u,and eats your money.Even if u get pregnant, your husband will think d baby belongs to him.The moment your husband sacks you,d boy takes off,cos he can no longer enjoy the privileges of dating a "married"woman! So use your head.Leave someone's son alone to plan his life and face his future. And bros, never think u can be collecting money from your sugar mummy to take care of one small girl somewhere that u are planning to marry. You can't do that and go free. And ladies,if you are in a relationship with a guy,and he's using flashy things and spending money without telling u his source of income, please become a private investigator. It's your life and future we are talking about here.Any man who is sleeping with a married woman or sugar mummy, and still wants to marry u,is not worth it.Share the grace with him!A word is enough for the wise.Hope you won't unfriend me?Happy weekend to you all!

Education / Meet A School That Offers Free Education For Poor Children In Lagos by bethelmendels(m): 9:30pm On Jul 11, 2016
Meet a School that offers Free Education for Poor Children in Lagos
As I was going through the Punch newspaper of July 1, 2016,a caption inside the newspaper caught my attention, " Lagos Charity School begs for survival" . I quickly read through the story with rapt attention. But what amazed me was that, the reporter presented the story as a mere news item with no much focus on arousing people's compassion to support the school. I called the newspaper’s official contact phone number, told them about the story and demanded to get the contact details of the school owner. They thereafter sent me the phone number of one Mrs Mercy Temidare ( the founder/proprietress). I called her immediately and promised to visit her.
True to my promise, Project-Help-a-Child team paid her a compassionate visit, today( 11th July,2016). The purpose of our visit was to identify with the good work that she is doing and also to use our platform to get public support for the school.
According to her the school was founded as a response to a divine calling to help poor children gain access to basic education. Hear her, " In 2010, God inspired me to start a charity school. I had nothing. So I approached my Redeemed Church parish pastor and told him about the vision, he almost discouraged me. He told me it wasn’t possible to run a charity school and that I should perish the idea. But I refused to listen to him. I went ahead to start the school with my personal savings. This place we are using now, was an uncompleted building with no roof on it. The landlord gave us the place with an agreement that I would complete the building, and whatever I spend would be calculated as our lease rent. I used my personal money to make the roofing and provide furniture for the students.
“Since 2010, I have been using my personal money to pay the few teachers and run the school without help from anybody. The burden has been too much on me. In 2013, I almost closed down the school because I could not pay my teachers any longer. But many of the parents came to the school crying and I was moved with compassion to rescind my decision. All my teachers have stopped working because I could not pay them. Right now I have just only one teacher that I manage to pay N15,000 monthly.
“My brother, do you know that many of the children come to school without food, and we have to provide food for them. We have a total of 65 pupils from Nursery section to Primary six.
“The Lagos State officials have even been here. They commended the work we are doing, but so far no support has come from them. Many NGO’s have also been here, they made a lot of promises, but up till now, no help has come from anywhere. Some media organizations like AIT, and Punch newspaper have done their bit to create awareness for what we do also. Right now my hope is only on God. The obstacles and challenges are daunting! But I have told God that instead of me to close down the school because of lack of support, ‘let me just die doing this work’. But thank God your Team is here today. I am sure God sent you to revive my hope and confidence in him…………”
I had to interject to console her. As she spoke one could feel the effusion of genuine passion for the noble work she is doing. “Madam, don’t worry, you were right when you said God sent us here. Truly, God sent us here. I believe the time for Him to help you is now. God will send partners to support this work. This building will be completed and furnished. You will get more teachers to help you, so you could enroll more pupils into the school. I am sure this place can take up to 400 poor students…….” As I spoke her countenance brightened up and it was certain we had restored hope to a great woman with a heart of gold.
Beloved, I am not just writing this to entertain you or to show you what we can do. But this is a clarion call to help save a noble project that is impacting on the life of poor children. The school: Alive and Awake Royal Charity School is located at 10, Oriade street, Ajala bus/stop, off Lagos/ Abeokuta Express Way, Abulegba, Lagos. The founder/proprietress is Mrs Mercy Temidare. You can visit the school to verify and see for yourself or call her on 07057863910,08128785688. The school building needs to be completed; they need furniture, books, uniform; they need at least six teachers( right now she has just one teacher). The school needs committed partners. You can afford to pay for one teacher monthly ( N15,000). PLEASE CALL MRS TEMIDARE, ALL SUPPORT GOES TO HER DIRECTLY.
Beloved, you are not reading this post by accident; God wants you to do something. This is not about Project-Help-a-Child or Mr. Greg. This is a call to serve humanity. Don’t close your heart of compassion. Whatever you give to the poor, you give to God. And He is the one that rewards all good works. He will reward your seed of compassion.
Remember service to man is service to God!
Together we can create a world where no child lives in LACK!
God bless you richly
