Religion / The Rich Created The Poor- By Azemobor Gregory by bethelmendels(m): 1:40pm On Jul 07, 2016
The Rich Created the Poor!
Let me begin by saying that the phenomenon of poverty is man-made. It is the direct result of excessive greed and primitive accumulation callously promoted by an unjust human economic system. It is instructive to assert, that God did not create a world of poverty. God created a world of abundance: where nature is capable of providing for all our needs, and ensuring that we all live happily with nobody living in lack. The mechanism of providence also ensures that each of God’s creation willingly gives back to life. This process guarantees the equitable distribution of natural provision to meet the needs of all. Mahatma Ghandi was right when he posited that, “The world has enough to meet our needs, but not enough to meet our greed”. Please note that poverty is not about scarcity, but about the equitable distribution of resources.
The root cause of poverty is the human-invented economic capitalist system that promotes individual ownership and accumulation of wealth. The basic tenet of capitalism that ascribes ownership of wealth to mere mortals is antithetical to God’s economic principles. The indisputable sole owner of everything on earth is God. Nobody owns anything in life! Because capitalism promotes the misconception of individual ownership of wealth, people therefore accumulate unnecessarily, thinking that they truly own what they have. Whatever you have today, is only given to you in trust by God. The purpose is to use it to bless others. Did I hear somebody say “but I work hard to make my money, to acquire all the things that I have” Yes! You did. But let me also ask you, “are you the owner of your life? Is it not logical that the one who owns your life automatically owns whatever you have? Okay, when you drop dead today, will you be conscious of those things you think you had worked hard to acquire? Beloved, please don’t deceive yourself. Ownership of material wealth is merely an illusion!
Capitalism also promotes excessive individual accumulation by creating the concept of the ‘rich’ and the ‘poor’. Those that amass so much wealth are branded rich and celebrated by society. While those that live in lack are derogatorily labeled poor, and even reproached by the same society. The rich gets all the recognition by the global media. Forbes magazine even enlists them as the richest and the most powerful people in the world. They are inundated with plethora of awards and titles by society. They control the economy and the governments of the world. The fallout of the hegemonic capitalist system is the prevalence of extreme poverty in the world.
Excessive accumulation of wealth by an infinitesimal ratio of the global population has resulted into a monstrous deprivation for the majority. The global statistic on the incidence of poverty is appalling: Almost half the world — over three billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day. At least 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 a day. More than 80 percent of the world's population lives in abject poverty. It is true that the leaders of the world at different fora , have made concerted efforts to eradicate poverty, but these have remained largely unsuccessful owing to the wrong approach they have deployed to combat the social malaise. The use of social security schemes by developed countries or giving of aids to poor nations would not solve the problem of global poverty. The World Bank, the United Nations and many other global economic bodies have also developed fantastic initiatives and programs aimed at waging war against poverty. But their modest efforts have not yielded much success, because the root cause of poverty has not been addressed. Not until the stranglehold of the capitalist system is dismantled, the cancer of poverty will continue to fester. This is my humble submission! To solve the problem of global poverty: let the rich give their excess possessions to the poor. This gesture will create an egalitarian society which will significantly bridge the disparity between the rich and the poor.
Every one of us, by act of omission or commission contribute to the prevalence of global poverty .whenever you accumulate in excess of what you and your family actually need, your act of greed deprives others of survival. Do really need those fleets of cars in your garage? Why do you build 50-room massion , only to sleep in one room, while many people are homeless sleeping under the bridge? You are busy saving money in the bank for your future and the future your children. Do you have control of the future? That huge amount of money you have in the bank can change the lives of many people. When you invest in the life of people, you make a deposit into the ‘bank’ of eternity. It is an investment that has a guaranteed reward and it is also immuned from mortality. If you drop dead today, your savings may be trapped in the bank or there is every probability that your next of kin and family members may not judiciously use the inheritance ( if you think I am lying, look at the life of the family of most rich dead people: the family either fight over the inheritance or outrightly misuse it)
Finally beloved, you can resolve today, to contribute your little quota to eradicating global poverty, by first conquering personal greed and self-centredness. Your usefulness to life is your contribution, not your accumulation. This is the path of true life. A popular maxim says, “ you make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give”. PLEASE BE WISE!
Together, we can create a world where no child lives in lack!

Politics / My Encounter With A Destitute Woman With 2 Kids In Ikeja by bethelmendels(m): 6:55am On Jun 29, 2016
MY ENCOUNTER WITH A DESTITUTE WOMAN WITH 2 KIDS,

My name is Azemobor Gregory,as I was going to the bank early in the morning of June 16th 2016 , along Obafemi Awolowo way, Ikeja-Lagos, the strident voice of a woman, shouting at the top her voice, attracted my attention, "Help!......help me......I am tired of staying in Lagos......I want to go back to my village.......I need money for transport...........my children have not eaten since morning..........help me please......."
She was sitting at the middle of the ever busy Awolowo way, with her two kids. The eldest of them should be about 5 yrs old, while the youngest, about eight months old or there about.
She was shouting at the top of her voice to attract attention for help. But curiously, nobody paid her any attention. Many people, that stopped to look in her direction, did that with a mixed attitude of suspicion and aloofness. I stood afar off for a while, trying to observe the reaction of people towards this "strange" woman. What I saw at that point, was a world that has completely lost the bond of compassion! Her cry of agony and the innocence of the hapless kids with her, could NOT even elicit any feeling of compassion from those multitude of people passing by.
As I watched the scene, suddenly, a flow of compassion erupted within my being. I could not help myself gravitating towards her direction! I momentarily forgot, I was going to the bank for an important transaction. All I wanted to do at this point, was to reach out in love, to her and the innocent kids. In the full glare of the multitude of people, peeping at her, from afar, as if she was a strange "object" from the outer space, I walked up to her. "Madam what is the problem" I muttered. The moment she saw me, immediately, a dry smile, came up on her face ,as she responded." I want to go the village, I lost my husband five years ago, I don’t have a home, I can’t even feed these children. What I need now, is the money for transport, to take me back to my village. My mother is still alive. A man promised to give us money for transport fare, but disappointed us. Since morning, I have been calling his phone number, but he is not picking his call…………..”
“Okay, I will help you with the money, but first, I want to speak with somebody who knows you”. I enjoined. “Okay sir, give me your phone number, There is a woman in my area, she is close to me , I will tell her to call you. She will tell you about my condition. I am not mad; I am not a beggar sir. I am doing this out of frustration. Each time the children cry for food, I am forced to beg for survival. I don’t like doing this”. At this point, I gave her my number, and some money to buy food for the children, including the transport fare to take her back to where she stays. I needed to speak to somebody that knows her, to ascertain her state of health, and to also find out if she was a “professional” beggar or not. As I gave her the money she became so happy, and immediately she stood up, took her kids and headed back home, to give my contact to the neighbour that would call me……….
At about 1:30 pm, my phone ranged, “Hello” a woman, who introduced herself as Mrs Okenwa, answered, “ Oga, thank you sir. My neighbor told me that you promised to help her, she is my neighbor , I used to help her too, it is just that the family had abandoned her since she lost her husband …………..” She went on and on, to narrate the pathetic story of the woman’s misfortune.
“Okay madam, I just needed to know somebody that knows her. By next week, we are coming to your place, and you would take us to where she stays. By the grace of God, we would help her” I responded. “Oh! Thank you sir,God bless you……….” She was palpably exhilarated, as I dropped the call
My the special grace of God, next week, The Project-Help-a-Child team will pay her a compassion visit, to assess her condition, provide sponsorship for the kids, and also rehabilitate and support the woman to start a petty business.
WATCH OUT FOR THE PART 2 OF THIS STORY!
Beloved, we all can re-ignite the fire of compassion in us. This is what expresses our humanity and the nature of God in us. Let us be sensitive to the needy around us, and reach out in love towards them. This is our message. The pictures and stories of our activities are not designed to show off, to you what we can do, but, rather, they are strong pragmatic messages, to INSPIRE YOU TO DO LIKEWISE. I and my team cannot help all the people that are need in the world! But together, we can recreate the destiny of humanity by entrenching the culture of LOVE.
THE ACT OF COMPASSION, IS THE ONLY AUTHENTIC ACT OF SERVICE TO GOD!
God bless you, as you support the Project-Help-a-Child Global Campaign, by reaching out to care for poor children around you.
Together, we can create a world were no child lives in LACK

Nairaland / General / Children’s Day: A Group Launches A Charity Campaign, To Help Poor Kids by bethelmendels(m): 9:30pm On May 27, 2016
Children’s Day celebration in Nigeria, which holds on the 27th of May every year, is a day set aside to honour and felicitate with children. Children’s Day was also meant to be a day dedicated to raising awareness on children’s rights and wellbeing. However, the pathetic condition of most Nigerian children calls for a more concerted effort to enhance their welfare either by the government or public spirited individuals. This was the focus of a humanitarian group, Voice of Change Network International, during their Project-Help-a-Child Campaign rally at Ikeja, Today.
According to the International Co-ordinator of the group, Mr. Azemobor Gregory, the project was birthed out of a desire to see the children of the poor in the society live meaningful lives. And this could be achieved when people go out of their way to care and sponsor poor children, by taking responsibility for their upkeep. He said “ It is obvious that government do not have the capacity and the moral will to provide for all the poor children in our society. That is why you have millions of children living in abject poverty. Many are out of school, malnourished, homeless and abused. We have thousands of indigent children in IDP camps living miserable lives. Now giving this ugly scenario, the only option left for us to provide a good life for poor children, is to inspire those of us that are comfortable to reach out in love and sponsor poor children. Now to sponsor a child ,what you do, is to walk up to a poor family, make a commitment to care for one or more of their children exactly the same way you would care for your own biological child. You do this while the child still lives with the biological parents”
Speaking further, Azemobor said, “If society cares for the children of the poor, we would have less of crime and violence in the world, because neglected children could easily be recruited into all kinds of social vices. The truth is that until society ensures that no one lives in lack, our search for global peace would remain a mirage ” He also gave a world of advice to many of us who place so much value on material riches and investment in earthly possessions. Hear him.” The only investment that God reckons with is the investment in human lives. I want to appeal to you my brothers and sisters reading this article, please resolve today to help those that are in need around you. Whatever, good you do to your neighbor, you do it unto God. The greatest religion is service to humanity.
The Project-Help-a-Child Campaign was a huge success as many people turned out to join the rally which commenced at about 8 am, and lasted until 12 pm. Many people in Ikeja today felt the impact of the rally. Many who received the fliers promised to touch lives, sponsor poor children and contribute their little quota to this campaign of creating a world where no child live in lack

Health / A Group Canvasses Help For A-hole- In- The -heart Baby, Seeks N0.8M For Surgery by bethelmendels(m): 10:50pm On May 15, 2016
A foremost humanitarian organization in Nigeria, Voice of Change Network Int’l (VOCNI) , the facilitators of Project-Help-a-Child Global Campaign, has launched a public fund raising effort to save the life of baby Elijah, a 11-month old boy, born with a hole in the heart. This humanitarian gesture is in line with the drive of the Project-Help-a-Child initiative, to create a world were no child lives in lack or in sickness.

The parents of baby Elijah, Mr and Mrs Ayanu visited the International Headquarters of Voice of Change Network Int’l, at Ikeja-Lagos, recently to solicit for the support of the organization to help raise fund for the treatment of their baby. On hand to receive the family, was the International coordinator of VOCNI, Mr Gregory Azemobor, who assured them that the organization would do all within its capacity to bring succor to the traumatized innocent baby.

Mr. Azemobor who sympathized with the family, immediately referred them to Babcock University teaching Hospital, who would assess the present medical condition of the child and to also handle the heart surgery. The hospital has a strategic relationship with Project-Help-a-Child initiative, to offer a highly subsidized medical bill for any child with a hole-in-the-heart case referred to them. It will be recalled, that the Tristate Heart and Vascular Centre of the University is the first hospital to perform a heart surgery in Nigeria. The presence of this Centre has helped tremendously to reduce the stress of many Nigerians travelling to Indian to perform the same operation at an exorbitant cost. Regular heart surgery and other miscellaneous expenses, in Indian cost about N2.5 million The good news also is that the Centre operates a foundation which helps to subsidize the cost of the surgery for indigent children

The Ayanu family last week took the child to the hospital, and after running some preliminary test to ascertain the present medical condition of the child, the hospital had agreed to carry out the surgery at a highly subsidized rate of N500,000, and about N300,000 would also be required for the post- surgery treatment of the baby. That brings the total amount required to about N0.8 million.

This kind gesture of Project-Help-a-Child initiative and the Tristate Heart and Vascular Centre is Indeed, a great relief to the Ayanu’s family, who have hitherto moved from pillar to post in an effort to raise N2.5 million to take their child to Indian for the operation. The medical case of little Elijah has brought untold hardship and agony to the Ayanu ‘sfamily since the little boy was diagnosed of Artrial Septal Defect (a-hole-in-the heart ailment ),six months ago at Lagos State Teaching Hospital (LUTH)

Little Ayanu Elijah Oyinlola is seeking for your support to bring him back to life! What is needed now is just N800,000 This is a clarion call to all lovers of children and humanity; corporate bodies, government agencies and individuals to give a direct assistance to this family. Please from the Godly part of your heart; do something now, no amount is too small. You can contact the parents 08035817643, 08035818003 or visit them at 18, Taike Street off Love all, Ikosi, Ketu, Lagos Nigeria. You can also send your direct financial contributions to. Guaranty Trust Bank, Account Name: Ayanu Elijah Oyinlola, Account Number: 0209445768. THE DIRECT HOSPITAL ACCOUNT DETAILS COULD BE PROVIDED ON REQUEST FOR ANY ONE WHO WOULD LIKE TO PAY THE COMPLETE MEDICAL BILL

Every child is the joy of their parents and a gift from God. Little Elijah might be the next leader the world is waiting for! It will be unfair for us to neglect the pains that this little boy is passing through right now. Please you can do something…….no amount is too small. If God lays it in your heart take up the complete bill. Please don’t hesitate. Remember that our only investment in life is the value we add to the lives of others. God bless you richly as you reach out in love to save the life of baby Elijah.

Politics / " Many Of Us Need To Mourn, And To Celebrate Our Birthday"-azemobor by bethelmendels(m): 7:49am On Mar 14, 2016
BY AZEMOBOR GREGORY.
Some few days to my birthday, which falls on the 12th of March every year, I was struck with a new realization of the essence of Life and the relevance of birthday celebration. I began to ask myself. “Why should people celebrate their birthday with so much pomp and pageantry?” “Why would I celebrate my birthday too? “ Many questions ran through my mind in quick successions, but the one that was more puzzling was; “what have I done with my over forty year of mortal existence?” My search for an answer to this latter question left me with a mixed feeling of perplexity and sadness.
Fine, I have achieved a modicum of success as a businessman; I am married with two lovely kids; modestly, I can provide for myself and family; I have even been involved in series of humanitarian activities. But, is that all there is to life? I had an intuitive feeling, that there should be more to life beyond this mundane existence. As I continued with that contemplative probe into the essence of Life, a flash of inspiration dawned on me, which unveiled a whole new understanding of the worth of our lives. Please follow me closely in this piece, as I share with you some of the insights
The first thing I would like you to realize is that, the life you have is a gift, given to you by God. You do not own it, neither do you have right over it. I really need to ‘drum’ this fact into us. Because, many of us carry on, as if we created and own our lives. Now, if you know that, you do not own your life, it would follow therefore, that it ought to be used solely for the purpose for which God, the true owner, created it. You must realize that God has a purpose for your life and that; you are here on earth to fulfill his purpose, not yours.
Please, also note that your purpose in Life is not found in your business or job career; it is not in your marriage or the children you have; your purpose in life does not find expression in your material riches either. Rather your purpose in life is simply the reason or the intent why God created you. It is the assignment you have on planet earth, given to you by God. It is only purpose that would give meaning and usefulness to your life.
Secondly, you must also appreciate the fact that, the term purpose is not just some abstract concept presented to us, by most motivational speakers, who portray it in a nebulous manner that often times obscure its true meaning. In providing a definition for purpose, it is important for us to acquaint ourselves to the basic TRUTH, that every of God’s creation exist for a reason and, that they all have a role to play in ensuring the sustenance of life in general.
Everything God created was designed to give back to life. Life gives us the resources we need to survive, and mandates us to give to others, the resources to survive as well. Essentially, this web of interdependence creates the existence of interconnectivity amongst God’s creations. Against this backdrop therefore, purpose can be viewed as the ‘contribution’ each of us makes to the overall sustenance of life.
To live for the good of others is to live a life of purpose. To find your purpose in life, you have to identify that ‘thing’ that invokes either passion or a strong dislike in you. I think Mike Murdock, an internationally acclaim motivational speaker and author, defines purpose succinctly. When he said “what you have a strong passion or dislike for, is what you are created for”. Let me say this at the junction, that the usefulness of your life, by God estimation, is a function of how your life fulfills His purpose.
A purposeless life is a wasted life. The sad reality of our lives is that we live it as if we own it. We spend ( or waste) it pursuing personal ambitions at the expense of fulfilling purpose. We are tragically caught in the web of greed, in our inordinate quest for material possessions and riches. Every year, we roll out the drums to ‘celebrate’ our birthday, thanking God for the gift of life. The celebrations are usually very elaborate with much music and sumptuous meal served to invited guest from far and near.
Ironically, not many of us ever bothered to find out if the creator approved the path of life we have chosen. If our lives or our birthday must be celebrated, I think the right person to do that is God, our creator. And such celebration must be premised on God’s approval and commendation. He is the one who knows if we have done well or not. He is also the one who decide whether the ‘achievement’ of our lives is worthy of celebration.
The truth is that, it is an error for many of us to ‘celebrate’ birthday, when actually many of us should use the day to weep, after taking stock of the waste that our lives had amounted to. While we regale in ostentatious birthday merriment, God looks down at us, and He is amazed at our utter foolishness. I honestly think that birthday time should be used for intensive introspection or sober reflection, to ascertain if our lives are in ‘alignment’ with God’s purpose for them
The gift of life is time bound. Every day you spend is irreplaceable. You have a choice to either spend it according to the “manufacturer’s specification” or waste it in the pursuit of personal aggrandizement. But remember, that one day you would stand before the maker to give account of your life.
The most costly mistake we all make in life is to assume that ‘we have all the time’ to do what we ought to do now. That is a fallacy! You have no control over time, only God does. The only time you are aware of, that provides you an opportunity to live effectively is NOW. So spend every day of your life wisely in the pursuit of purpose. Live everyday as if it is the last day of your life. Don’t be deceived by the vanity of your material possessions. They cannot give fulfillment to your life. Fulfillment is only found in a life of purpose.

Nairaland / General / Meet A “wonder Church” That Provides Free Water For Ajegunle- Lagos Community by bethelmendels(m): 1:47pm On Feb 20, 2016
In the previously termed “slums” of Ajegunle, the indigenes have been known to commute outside the Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG), for reasons unrelated to worshipping, but to gain access to the free water supply provided by the ministry.
Given the inability of past local governments to make accessible to the populace adequate water supply, for four years now, RCCG parish has provided free water supply to the community of ……. with no strings attached.
During the last general election, in order to win the heart of the electorate in this community, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) dug up a bore-hole that would meet their water need. But immediately after the election, the project was abandoned, as the said bore-hole has now become a mere facility for decoration, rather than sustenance, due to its ineffectiveness to meet the water need of the poor community.
As stated by Pastor Abayomi Oluwato, the Pastor in charge of Zone Eighteen of Lagos Province Eleven of RCCG, he just thought the church should make an impact in the society.
“I just thought the church should make an impact in the society. I mean, the community should know that the church of God is here”.
“We are privileged to have a bore-hole in the church and we use it maybe three times in a week and the facility is there, so why don’t we extend it out for the community to benefit from.”
The community members revealed also that they are not members of the church but are from other denominations. Some stated that they were Catholics, others Deeper life, and a couple of them were Anglicans.
Furthermore, the Zonal Pastor of RCCG stated that all the wells in the area are now dry and people have to come a long distance to make use of the church water supply.
He further stated, “In the area, all the wells are dry, this is the only means. Sometimes when there is no light, we buy fuel or diesel to power the small or big generator.”
He likened their efforts at providing free water supply for the people, to the noble ideals Jesus Christ stood for while he was on earth. He remarked, “showing the love of Christ to the society, should be the essence of the gospel.”
Also, the international coordinator of Voice of Change Network, Mr Azemobor Gregory, who led the Project-Help-a-Child team to visit this “wonder church” was full of praise for the Zonal RCCG pastor, Abayomi Oluwato for his Christ-like disposition to the need of the community. He said, “ Sir, I want to appreciate God for your life, for using you to bring succour to the life of the poor people around here. No preaching of the gospel can be more effective than when we practically show the love of Christ to the people around us. Well done sir. My prayer is that, perhaps many other parishes of RCCG and other churches would emulate this noble gesture and become more responsive to societal needs “

According to Azemobor, if the churches were to be community-need focused, they would have effectively supported the government in enhancing the quality of life of the people and by extension creating a peaceful society devoid of crime and violence. He took a swipe at the numerous ‘prosperity churches’ who amass so much wealth from the donations from their members and yet deny them of any social support. Hear him, “ I think it is wicked for a church to build a school or hospital with members’ donations and then turn around to charge the same member exorbitant fees. This act is most unchrist-like, to say the least. I think it is high time we began to redefine the gospel of love that Christ came to preach”

Politics / Help! A Woman Gives Birth, “ Arrested “ By Hospital For Failure To Pay Her Bill by bethelmendels(m): 11:54pm On Nov 05, 2015
A 23yrs old Miss Blessing Godwin, from Eket L.G.A in Akwa Ibom state is in urgent need of financial support to rescue her from her predicament. On the 28th of October, 2015, at about 6pm exactly, Mrs. Blessing was admitted in the labor room of Ilasamaja Health Center for child delivery. After several hours of delayed parturition with , the head nurse suggested that they would transfer her with immediate effect to another Standard hospital as a result of unavailability of life saving equipments.
In a live interview with VOC NEWS today, Mrs. Blessing Godwin recounted her bewilderment, when she was told to leave the Ilasamaja health center “I was stranded because there was no cash on me. My husband and I stayed from 11pm to 4:30 am the following morning, before we could get assistance to take us to Isolo General Hospital ”. At this point she broke down crying profusely. It took the effort of this reporter to console her before she continued the narration of her ordeal. According to her when they got to Isolo General Hospital, it was another hard luck, as there was no vacant bed for her to be admitted. This incident generated curious attention as the nurse on duty suggested that, if she stayed one more hour, there would be likelihood, that the child might die in her womb .
The only solution left to rescue the poor girl was to rush her to a specialist hospital. Mater Christi is a specialist hospital located at 8, Bishop Okogie Street, off Ago palace way, Balogun B/stop Okota Lagos where the Caesarian was done successfully. And she was delivered of a bouncing baby girl. But unknowingly to her, this was just the begin of her woes, as she and her jobless husband, Mr. Godwin could only pay N50,000 from the hospital bill, with an outstanding bill of N150,000. As a result of the inability to pay up the complete bill, the poor woman has been detained by the hospital management for the past 2-weeks, because she and husband could not afford to pay the outstanding hospital bill.
We are calling on all well-meaning Nigerians andlovers of humanity to urgently come to the aid of Mrs Blessing Godwin. She needs the sum of #150,000.00 (One Hundred and Fifty Thousand) , to enable her offset the hospital bill, so that the hospital management would “release” her from “incarceration” . The hospital management was glad to receive the VOC News reporter; they confessed that it was a kind gesture for an organization to be interested in humanitarian acts of this kind .
Please as you read this story, do not harden your heart! This is a genuine case that needs urgent assistance. VOCNEWS reporter was there to verify the veracity of her condition. Just imagine the plight of this hapless family! You can show empathy for the innocent little baby and reach out in love to put a smile on the face of Mrs Blessing Godwin and God will not forget you in your days of travails.
The name and address of the hospital can be verified. Please call Mrs. Blessing Godwin now! 07018162451, 09038948316. No amount of money is too small. Remember that: your only worth in life is the good you do for others.

Abandoned mother of triple twins receives yet another shock as a group donates cash to her, and offers scholarship to one set of twins

By Austin Edoho, Lagos

For Ruth Uche, the abandoned mother of triple set of twins, this indeed is her season of favor and divine visitation as a humanitarian organization, Voice of Divine Truth Int’l Outreach,(aka Voice of Change Network)gave her a cash donation, and offered her 2nd set of twins scholarship from primary to university level. This came on the heels of the Speaker’s visit and the Governor’s kind gesture to her.

Sitting in her dimly lit one room which doubled as her bedroom and her sitting room, the President of the group, Mr Gregory Azemobor expressed gratitude to God for the life of the children and their mother. He also stressed the fact that the children need to be given a future. According to him, quality education is one factor that would guarantee a great future for the children. He also called on well-meaning Nigerians to do what they can in supporting this woman and her six children. In his words,” I want to sincerely commend the Governor and the Speaker of Lagos State for their laudable acts of kindness and empathy. If all State governments tow this line, the citizens under them would lead better lives. Furthermore, I want to point out that the government alone cannot do everything. I want to appeal to everyone to look for the needy in the society and provide succor for them. Use what you have to be a blessing to the needy around you. If we embrace this practice, the world would be a better place. What we have done in giving scholarship to these children is in line with our Project-Care-For-A-Poor-Child Campaign which aims to encourage every matured individual in the world to take responsibility for the upkeep of a child that is not their biological child”

Ruth who earns a paltry #10,000 monthly salary as a teacher in a daycare Centre narrated her ordeal of sending her children to school. According to her, the children’s fees is #10,000 per child, but thanks to the management of the school who asked her to pay #5,000 instead. She narrated how she uses her two months’ salary to pay her four children’s fees. As for the books and feeding, she says she teaches an evening class of six children who pays her #1,000 each monthly, which brings in additional #6,000 for the feeding and the upkeep of the family. The question is ’how can #6,000 cater for the needs of a growing family of seven?’

Ruth is only one of such people in our society who needs to be shown love. Let’s not wait for the government. You can do something no matter how little, to make life easier for someone.

Members of the group included Austin Edoho, Princewill Inegbenose, Abebe Mathew, Jude Ebenuwah, and David Hernandez

HONEST AIRPORT CLEANER (JOSEPHINE UGWU) SUPPORTS PROJECT ADOPT A CHILD CAMPAIGN

There’s an age-long adage that says “show me your friends, and I will tell you who you are”. The truth behind this saying was reinforced when the honest airport cleaner who found and returned the sum of 12 million naira to the owner identified with a Humanitarian Organization in executing a noble vision called PROJECT ADOPT A CHILD. Project adopt a child is designed to inspire adults to take responsibility for a child that is not their biological child. Speaking of the project, the Coordinator, Mr. Gregory Azemobor said ‘This is a project that will add value to lives worldwide. We are not asking you to legally adopt the child as yours. All we are saying is that you can walk up to a poor family around you and tell them you want to help sponsor one of their children by taking responsibility for his feeding, clothing, and education from childhood to adulthood, while the child is still living with the parents.”Mr. Azemobor called on people all over the world to join in extending this gesture to the poor around them. In his words “Our goal is to inspire a hundred million adults all over the world to adopt a hundred million children. We are not asking you to bring the money to us. Do it yourself. Look for the child of the poor around you and be a blessing to him/her. Sponsor a child today. If you don’t know of a poor family to assist, contact us, and we would link you up with one”. During her meeting with the members of the Organization, Mrs. Ugwu excitedly expressed her delight in being a part of the group, adding that the world needs more of such organizations who exist to serve the society and make life bearable for the less privileged. She commended the effort and the achievements the group has so far recorded on their mission towards improving the lives of the masses. In her words, “I was so happy and so touched when I learnt that you people went and ‘adopted’ a poor child in Agege on Saturday. If only every matured Man/Woman would do what you people are doing, and learn to see every child on the street as their own child and treat him/her accordingly, then this world would be a far better place than it is today, and the future would be very much better than today because our children are our future”. She pledged to be a part of the Project Adopt A Child campaign rally taking place on the 27th of May at Ikeja bridge,Awolowo Way,Ikeja,by 10am prompt, and she also called on well-meaning Nigerians to come out en-mass on that day for the rally.

Politics / A Cleaner Who Earns N7,800 Found And Returned N12million In Lagos Int, L Airport by bethelmendels(m): 7:01am On Mar 10, 2015
VOICE OF CHANGE NETWORK INT'L REWARDS THE CLEANER WHO FOUND AND RETURNED N12MILLION IN LAGOS INT'L AIRPORT

Mrs Josephine Ugwu, the cleaner who found and returned N12 million at the Lagos Int'l airport will not forget Monday, the 9th day of March in a hurry, because it was a day that a Lagos- based Humanitarian organization,Voice of Change Network Int'l, decided to put a smile on her face. While some commended her for her honesty in returning the said amount considering the fact that she was earning a paltry sum of #7800 in a month, others have taken to calling her some derogatory names, condemning her for her seeming "stupidity" in not taking the money for herself.
However,a Non-Denominational,Non-Religious,and Non-Governmental Organization,Voice of Change Network, decided to practically demonstrate their support and approval of the woman's act of honesty and integrity by visiting her at her work station, and presenting a cash gift to her .

Speaking at the occasion, the International Coordinator of the organization,Mr Gregory Azemobor said "Our mission as an organization is to encourage people all over the world to do good.Anyone who follows his/her conscience and does good to his brother and sister is a celebrity.Josephine is a celebrity. In fact, she is the true celebrity, because she has taught the world that it's possible to maintain one's integrity in a corrupt, greedy, and selfish world. Our mission is to raise a generation of men and women who will propagate, promote and model positive character and virtue in all areas of life.We are here to create a relationship with her, because we want to know her better, where she lives, her children,so we could empower them, and assist them materially and otherwise. She is a true heroine. We are looking for more people like this who will stand for what is right"

Speaking further, Mr Azemobor said " what we are doing today is to appreciate, celebrate and reward good conduct and we sincerely hope that this gesture will inspire others to toe the line of moral uprightness. we need people like Mrs Ugwu in position of authority who will not selfishly enrich themselves at the detriment of the welfare of others"
He also called on public spirited individual to do likewise in appreciating a moral icon in the person of Mrs Josephine Ugwu
Mrs Ugwu , who is an employee of PATOVILKI industrial cleaning company, on the 23rd of January 2015, while going about her normal cleaning activities at the passenger lounge of the airport had found a package containing some dollars and other foreign currencies totaling 12 million Naira.Knowing fully well that the money was forgotten or misplaced by a passenger, she, according to the orientation she was given when she got the job about three years ago, took the money to the security, who informed the airport authorities.Ironically, the owner of the money surfaced some minutes later, and after ensuring the money was complete, just took a long look at Mrs Ugwu, and walked away, without a word of appreciation. What a world!
Responding to the superlative show of love and goodwill,Mrs Ugwu thanked the coordinator and members of Voice of Change for the cash gift, and words of encouragement. She also reiterated her decision and determination to live right and to continue in doing good.

Religion / Is God A Christian? by bethelmendels(m): 6:27pm On Aug 24, 2014
By Azemobor Gregory
God Does not Belong to any Religion
God is too big to be confined to any religion. No religion can take ownership of him. He is not a Christian. He is not a Moslem. He does not belong to any of the numerous religions created by man
God’s supremacy transcends any religious interpretation of his Being. His nature and the mystery of His existence cannot be fathomed by mere religious dogmas and rituals
I am amazed when we as Christians often ascribe exclusive entitlement to his lordship. I honestly think we need to have a proper understanding of who he is:
God is the father of all. He is the God of the Christians, the Moslems, the Hindus, the Pagans e.t.c. God is a loving father. He loves all of us equally, irrespective of the religion we profess. Why should we as humans, expect him to be partial and to show sentiment to our religion? No, He will not!
If we have this understanding that God is not divided by religion, humanity will learn how to live together in peace as brothers and sisters from one Father, God
And so, whenever I see anybody, I should see him first, as my brother or my sister and not as somebody from another religion. This orientation will help us to foster cordial relationship among humanity and this will go a long way to curtail the schism and violence occasioned by religious intolerance.
God existed before any Religion
The historical account of creation tells us that the earth was created about 6-7 thousand years ago. And that God existed before the earth or man was created. Now let us look at how old the major religions of the world are:
Christianity ( about 2,000 years old)
Islam ( about 1,500 years old)
Judaism ( about 4,000 year old)
Now the question is: which religion did God belong to before the advent of all these religions?
Jesus did not come to preach the Christian Religion
It is important to note that the early disciples of Christ were first referred to as “Christ-like” in Antioch. This term was rather used in a derogatory manner because of their “strange” life style. It was a nickname given to the early apostles that eventually developed into an organized Christian religion
Jesus Christ during his earthly ministry did not preach the Christian religion and he was not NEVER referred to, as a Christian
Even the early apostles did not propagate the Christian religion. They were only focused on living the life style and Godly values that Christ taught them while he was alive.
Christ only came to preach about the kingdom (rulership) of God on earth
Presently, the ideologies and systems created by man rule the world. And these ideologies and systems do not conform to the will of God for humanity. They are inconsistent with the natural laws or principles that govern the earth. This collective act of disobedience by man alienated him from his creator. Christ came to restore that relationship and re-introduce man to the practice of Godly principles that will subject him to the kingdom (rulership) of God.
All the systems and ideologies created by man have failed
Man in his foolishness believes he can rule the world (which he did not create) with his imperfect systems and ideologies. The problem with the world today, is the product of a corrupt system created by man, that does not provide for the GOOD of all
His political system has failed to provide good governance. In fact, the much idolized democracy is turning into “ a demonstration of craze” in Nigeria ( apologies to the late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti)
The economic system has failed to evenly create and redistribute wealth for the good of all. Capitalism has created more poverty than wealth, because it promotes individual ownership and accumulation of wealth. Over 70% of the world populace lives in abject poverty!
The “ sophisticated” security system of the world has not been able to stop crime and violence. The list of the failure of the human systems goes on…..

The only “religion” God knows is “good works”
God is good. He is our father and he expects us as his sons and daughters to be good to one another. If we are good to one another, nobody will kill; nobody will steal; nobody will hate one another. If you are good to your neighbour, you will not see him hungry and refuse to give him food, even when you have enough
The problem with the world today, is that man has refused to be GOOD to his neighbor!
And almost all the religions of the world have not been able to address this problem.
